EXCELLENT JOB…

You were quick to contact us and offered what I thought was a fair price to come out and sort out our leaking outside tap. The engineer quickly indentified that a new tap was required which he fitted inside the minimum call out hour. Very pleased with the whole process and would certainly contact you for any future plumbing jobs

£550 for a simple kitchen tap replacement!!!

The job was a simple kitchen tap replacement. £120 for the first hours work and then the price increases incrementally. 1 hour 20 minutes later and a bill for £550, my mum's new kitchen tap was installed! This company preys on people who they know possibly don't have another option, or know any other trades people. Daylight robbery and avoid them at all cost, because it will be a massive cost if you don't.

What a great company

What a great company, good price & fantastic staff. The engineer that came round and serviced our boiler and also the staff on the phones are all professional and polite. I would rate them and recommend them to friends and family.

Rightio - Gas Engineer -Cardiff - Terrible!

If I could rate this company zero I would. My Dad lives in Cardiff and rang this company aprox end of May or beginning of June 2026, because he needed a Gas Engineer to fix Gas boiler. The Gas Engineer they sent out was absolutely useless and didn't appear to know what he was doing. He didn't fix the boiler but still charged my Dad over £200 for his time. * I am so angry - Avoid at all costs!!! *

Good job done.

Very efficient plumber came to my dad's house. We were told upfront about costings. Kept informed if parts were needed. Cleaned away debris after finishing job. Would highly recommend.

Avoid, use a local plumber

I would strongly advise people to be extremely careful before using Rightio.
We contacted them after finding their advert in a local village magazine. The advert used a local number and gave the impression of being a local plumbing service. In reality, the whole process felt much more like dealing with a call-centre-led national operation than a local tradesperson.
We had several relatively straightforward plumbing issues: a leak near a shower control, leaking pipes under two sinks, and a toilet cistern issue. Nothing that should have been complicated.
The plumber arrived, but very little actual work was carried out. A significant amount of time was spent walking around, sitting in the van, and making repeated phone calls to the office. This was particularly frustrating because the company charges by the hour, and once you move into the next hour, you are charged for the full hour.
After more than an hour, almost nothing had been done. The plumber said parts were needed, which was fine. I asked what parts, checked the likely trade cost myself, and found the parts would be around £210 at most. He actually had one of the required parts in the van, but said he still could not proceed until the office had agreed pricing.
This is where the alarm bells really started. The plumber could not simply get on with the work. Everything had to go through the office. I asked to speak to them because time was being wasted while we were being charged. They said they could not tell me the price there and then and would need to call me back.
When they eventually called back, they quoted over £760 for the repairs, including parts and labour. When I asked for the parts breakdown, they quoted £360 plus VAT for parts that I had already checked and knew were nowhere near that amount. After I challenged this, they came back with a reduced figure of around £550, which only confirmed my concern that the pricing was not transparent or reasonable.
In the end, I paid £199 just to get the plumber to leave, with the work still not completed.
My view is that this service is designed to take advantage of people who do not know what parts should cost, do not understand how long simple plumbing jobs should take, or feel pressured once someone is already in their home. Had my wife been dealing with this on her own, she may well have agreed to the inflated quote.
The plumber himself was polite enough, but the business model and pricing process felt completely wrong. Too much time was wasted, too little work was done, and the quoted cost was wildly out of line with the parts required.
I would not use Rightio again and would strongly recommend getting a clear fixed quote from a genuinely local independent plumber before agreeing to anything with this company.

The Plumber who called was excellent

The Plumber who called was excellent. A local plumber to the area, he found the problem and repaired the leak within the hour. However, RIGHTIO plumbers I would not recommend as they overcharged me and have not intentions of repaying me. Their advert clearly states that there is a special rate for OAP's because I did not tell them, when I called, that I am an OAP they will not give me the discount. My argument is they did not ask me if I qualified for this discount, they said they don't like to ask the question as it could upset some people. So in their eyes people can get upset if they are saving money. Be very careful this company are VERY expensive my advice is don't use them.
