Be careful, I was conned!

I employed the services of Rights Surveyors in Bideford and was completely disappointed and misled.
I contacted them to get a property report on an old building I was intending to buy. Liam, advised that instead of doing a lengthy condition report I could meet him at the property and go around it together followed by a more condensed report. In return he would reduce the fee by 250 pounds. That seemed reasonable even though I wasn't seeking to save on this, so we met and did just that.
I waited a week and no report came through so I contacted Liam and he sounded more belligerent and kind of moody, asking where's the full payment? This had never been discussed and I assumed it would paid on receipt. As it seems to be a sticking point I paid it same day without a fuss.
A few days later he finally sent the report and it was a single page document stating the reinstatement value for insurance purposes...which I had not requested.
So I paid 1,750 for a couple hour chat followed by a copy and paste reinstatement valuation.
I complained to Liam and he was uncommunicative and when he finally replied was dismissive.
This is a quite peculiar individual acting in peculiar ways. I would avoid him.
