My daughter has really enjoyed her Rock Steady sessions. She is generally a quiet, shy character, and has not played an instrument before, but now plays a few chords on the guitar, and was excited to perform in the summer concert. Clearly the teaching, the community, the sense of being in the band, and the occasion of the concert have worked their magic. We will happily continue her lessons in the next school year. Daz, the Rock Steady teacher at Bishop Wood School, clearly knows how to get the best out of kids.

Total waste of money at 40 odd quid. My son has been taught barely anything and they have missed around 2 months of lessons due to nobody being available to teach the lessons. All I got was a £10 refund. I would avoid and get my son proper music lessons in the future.

Thoroughly recommend! My Son has received fantastic support and inclusion from his band leader to help him and enable him to continue to enjoy music, singing and performing despite progressing health difficulties. Thankyou🙏

We pay over £44 a month because it seems that the paying parents subsidise the cost for the parents that don’t have to pay, which is very frustrating.
My son has been doing this since October and I’ve got to say, what a waste of money.
The cost doesn’t change over Easter/xmas or half terms even though my son misses lessons when the school is closed, and he has missed at least 3 lessons due to rocksteady not having teachers available.
The school also lied and said it was an 8 week program but rocksteady didn’t schedule the first performance until March.
Overall almost £400 spent and my son had very very basic skills.
Absolutely rubbish.

Rock Steady has exceeded every expectation we had. My daughter is naturally very shy, so to see her stand up in front of a whole room full of people and sing on her own at the concert was incredible – I was so incredibly proud of her!
The lessons have done wonders for her confidence. She has grown so much, and now she positively looks forward to her band practice every single Friday. You have created such a fun, safe and encouraging space where the children feel brave enough to shine.
Thank you to all the team and her brilliant teacher Chris for everything you do – we couldn’t recommend you more highly! 🎸🎤💖

Oliver is my daughter’s teacher and he is absolutely amazing with the children. They all have a brilliant time with him and my child has just received an amazing certificate, so proud of her. This wouldn’t be possibly without Olly’s hard work. Thank you for making rocksteady so fantastic and she looks forward to it every Tuesday. If anyone is thinking of their child starting I would highly recommend it.

My 7 Yr old joined a rocksteady band in March and yesterday performed at his first concert. I was so impressed by the confidence and talent of all the children who took part.
Liam is a real credit to your organisation. His energy and enthusiasm with all the groups and children was exceptional and his encouragement while they were playing was the motivation they needed.
Well done Liam and Rocksteady

My six-year-old son loves his guitar lessons with Matthew Preston. I would thoroughly recommend to parents as they really enjoy it and Matthew has got my son thinking he’s a rockstar and posing for photographs as though he is on world tour!

Great idea, my son has had a great time learning to play guitar and taking part in concerts.
It has filed him with confidence and he has thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Rock steady has been instrumental (no pun intended) in helping my little girl to make new friends and work tremendously as part of a group.
My little one has thoroughly enjoyed learning how to play bass guitar for a variety of different songs and has had amazing opportunities to perform in her own concerts.
I would highly recommend rocksteady to anyone who’s child may struggle making friends or who may need a sense of belonging

Eddie really enjoyed the sessions with Rocksteady and thought they were great fun. He enjoyed being part of a band and given the opportunity to perform in front of an audience. It was overall a great experience.

Absolute scam. They booked a concert date for a day which was my childs transition day where she physically could not attend because she'd be at her future high school. I told them last month when they announced the date that if they cannot change the date to cancel the membership because I don't want to pay £45 a month for my child to practice for a concert they can't perform in through no fault of their own. I was told they'd speak to the teacher and get back to me. They didn't. I got charged. An email went out confirming the concert date is the same date. It's scamming me and its cruel to make my child practice knowing they can't be at the show she came home saying how they complimented her singing and saying she's so improved and its beyond cruel its raising her up for her to fall flat I had to remind her she can't go to the concert she was in tears THIS IS WHAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO SEE WHEN THEY'RE HURTING MY CHILD.

I am very disappointed with my experience at Rocksteady Music School.
After enrolling my child, we attended what was supposed to be their first lesson at 8:30. We arrived at Parkgate Junior School on time and repeatedly pressed the bell, but nobody came to open the gate. As a result, my child was unable to attend the lesson and missed out completely.
What made the situation even more disappointing was the lack of communication afterwards. Despite my child missing the lesson through no fault of our own, the teacher did not contact me to check what had happened or to follow up.
For a first lesson, this was a very poor experience.

My grandson has been with Rocksteady for 18 months+
He is having to stop now due to him going to secondary school
He has thoroughly enjoyed it.
He plays the key board and loves it , he is hoping to continue with lessons at his new school.
He has grown in confidence since joining, joined the choir and performed in the end of year production.
I would 100% recommend Rocksteady . Thank you

Our little boy is quite shy and has really gained confidence since having drumming lessons. It’s wonderful to see!
