Rudeness at Regent Street

Since 2017, I've been buying my shoes from Russell & Bromleys. I used to frequent the store on Oxford Street which is now permanently closed.

Today 21st April 2021, I went shopping again. And since the store on Oxford is no more, I went to Regent street. I was served by some very polite ladies. I settled on a Navy blue pair of loafers and requested a discount. I have never had a discount despite possessing a Russell & Bromleys Card though not carrying it at the time.

An older man who appeared to be the Manager came close to me at the till as the lady customer service agent served me. I noticed he did not give eye contact. Directing my question at him I said, "I always buy my shoes here but I've never received a discount".

He responded abruptly, "We don't give discounts". I pulled out my wallet, paid £195 in cash for my newly acquired loafers and walked out.

I cannot believe that such a rude man is a store proprietor or Manager.

Beware of ordering from this company

Beware of ordering from this company

Received my ordered they sent wrong trainers marked paperwork with details of the item I ordered. £70.00

The wrong goods they sent me were £49.00 but they took the £70.00 out of my account. Have not had any response or communication from them package arrived as if it was bought on ebay. This is classic scam used on online companies but did not think Russell and bromley would do this to me.

Not to be trusted and NOT a novelty brand!

Due to a current “sale”, I ordered two pairs of shoes from Russell and Bromley last week. They arrived when they said they would but I was initially concerned as one of the pairs was to be sent as a birthday gift and I was worried they would not arrive in time.

With this being the case, I emailed customer service who said they could not sent the order express delivery due to a high amount of orders being processed. After sending further emails I get a response to say that the standard time is 3-5 days for orders to be delivered and that they are sent express delivery.

...Em so you can send them express delivery but just needed 4 days to process and dispatch the item because of incompetency.

The real issue was opening up the box to reveal the suede loafers I had purchased. What did I have? A pair of bloody seconds/ex display shoes with scuffed toes and faded scruffy suede. The leather on the inside of one of the shoes had most clearly seen better days and was wrinkled and worn.

To call themselves a novelty brand that can charge £300.00 plus for shoes is an absolute bloody disgrace! Furthermore, on close inspection of the shoes, they seemed to be poorly made and most certainly not the RRP of £285.00.

Russell and Bromley, you have dodged a bullet purely on the basis that I bought the two pairs of shoes for £185.00. Therefore I am not going to go through the rigmarole of sending these back for a refund. Had I paid the full £570.00 then you would have received a VERY angry email from me.

Very disappointing response from Russell & Bromley

I wanted to purchase a pair of boots in the sale this January and wanted to use my gift vouchers to pay for them when I went to put the code in there was nothing on the website for this particular code to go in. I contacted them explaining the situation and they replied immediately saying very sorry the gift vouchers cannot be used on the website
Considering the fact that all their shops are closed and we have a pandemic don't you think they would have changed their website in order for their customers like myself who were bought vouchers as a Christmas present last Christmas to be able to use them. I have since written to them saying that surely under the circumstances we are living in they should have changed their website but I have had no reply and unfortunately there is no contact phone number so what happens if my vouchers expire as I really don't know when they might reopen and consequently I was unable to purchase the boots I am extremely surprised that a Company of this standard has such awful customer relations and am disappointed to the point that I will be very sceptical about buying anymore products from them again and would definitely not recommend anyone buying vouchers from them!!

Beautiful boots but sadly poor…

Beautiful boots but sadly poor workmanship and had to return. Customer Service would not replace as they were stocktaking but I was welcome to re order if I wanted to. They sent a free delivery code (delivery is free anyway) as an apology - so rather an empty gesture. Expect better.

I have bought two pairs of boots from…

I have bought two pairs of boots from R&B and both pairs after barely any use have had their soles de attach. Both pairs of boots cost more than £250 each and the quality you would expect for that price just doesn't match. I took them into store and all they could offer me was for them to be sent away to be repaired. Over all, terrible quality for the cost of the boots and customer service disappointing. Will never be buying R&B again.

You get what you pay for! Good quality!…

Russell & Bromley shoes are definitely good quality shoes! I bought my daughter a pair of black patent loafers, they were £215, they were a Christmas present. She is a teacher so they get a lot of wear. She’d had them for a year and the sole came away from the shoe. I took them back to the store at Bluewater, there was no quibbles they exchanged them for a brand new pair. Excellent customer service! I’ve had my pair of loafers for 5 years and they still look like new!

Beautiful Quality - Great Customer Service

The shoes I purchased in the sale were far too big and it was £5 for delivery so this lost R&B a star. What warranted the other stars is the fact they are allowing me to return the shoes after the return window closed. The shoes were in the most beautiful leather, really great quality. Sadly they've disappeared off the website so I can't order a smaller size.

Great customer service

I bought a pair of brown Oxford shoes around six month ago that unfortunately developed a tear on the upper stitching even though I took good and regular care of them.

I wrote to the customer service explaining the situation - they replied immediately and offered to send me a replacement pair to Germany with no extra cost. Superb customer service from my point of view! I will continue to buy Russell and Bromley shoes based this experience.

Cheap Quality with Fast Delivery

The reason I am giving my experience two stars is because of the fast delivery. I ordered a pair of t bar loafers (RRP £200) and paid £125. They arrived nicely packaged but as I opened the box I immediately saw the shoes which looked used and squashed. The leather was wrinkled and the shoe misshapen. The metal T bar had made a greenish stain on the leather of the loafers and the glue could be seen on the sole and leather. I tried them on and they were extremely small, if I ordered them again I would need to go 2 sizes up. Overall these shoes were made with poor quality materials and poor craftsmanship. I would expect them to cost £30. Do not buy.
