Bad Customer Service

Prices are fine but after sales support is so bad, been on the phone for over an hour right now and no one is answering. They also take 12 hours to reply to support tickets which makes it almost impossible to communicate with them. Pay 50$ extra to your local computer store and avoid.

I recently purchased an Antec case…

I recently purchased an Antec case where the fans produce an annoying high-pitched clicking noise. After identifying multiple reports of this issue on Reddit, I emailed Scorptec about it and included audio recordings of the clicks.

They didn't ask for the product back, and neither the fans themselves. They simply contacted the supplier, and got me a new set of fans.

Some context around this - a previous RMA request had left a bitter impression, where Scorptec had refused to allow me to RMA a part of a larger product and insisted I return the whole product instead. After I complained about this on TP, it appears they have learnt and adjusted their process.

It's great to see a company that act on negative feedback. Well done Scorptec!

Disappointed After 20 Years — Customer Service Now Nonexistent, Invoice 3351376 le:

Review:
I've been a loyal Scorptec customer for nearly 20 years, but my recent experience has left me seriously questioning whether I’ll ever return.
I took my faulty motherboard to the Tingalpa store after being promised over the phone that it would be looked at and tested on the spot — no appointment needed. When I arrived, I was told all six workbenches were “busy” and I’d have to leave it with them. That was Wednesday morning.
Since then, I’ve received zero updates despite assurances I’d be contacted ASAP. I’ve sent multiple follow-ups that have been completely ignored. I still have no idea whether the motherboard was tested, sent for warranty, or is just sitting there collecting dust.
For a company I’ve trusted for two decades, this is an appalling lack of customer service. If Scorptec is still in good shape, it certainly isn’t showing in how it treats long-standing customers anymore.
I sincerely hope this gets addressed — but until then, I’ll be looking elsewhere and warning others of what to expect.

UPDATE - After 4 Days I received this and Only this via email :-

We have chosen to reject your return authorization request. The details and reasons for rejection are listed below:
• 1 x MSI - B450M-A PRO MAX II - SN: 601-7C52-130B2501010032 Reason for rejection: Scratched / broken traces above PCI-E slot, going through over a dozen traces

No Apology or Explanation of why it took Scorptec 4 Days to do what they promised on the Phone they would do on the Wednesday

Furthermore there was no detail whatsoever about whether they had actually tested the motherboard (rather than just glanced at it) and if so what the test results were …
As of this current moment I have still been given NO information on that. At the store they specifically told me that they test All components before sending them away for Warranty so therefore you would assume they did test it but haven’t told me !

To Add Insult to Injury Scorptec have also refused to return the motherboard to me by post !?!

Avoid At All Costs !!!

Andrew

No honour

There was a massive online sale for asus zenwifi bq16

I purchased the item thinking i got a good deal, they came back to the next day cancelling the order and stating there was a genuine mistake in the listing

If there was a mistake it was on their end, they should honour the price(like any other respective retail store) as i would do when i quote a job i honour my word even if there was a mistake on my end
I lost trust in the brand
Will never be buying anything from them in the future

Hi Carmen,

We appreciate that you took the time to share your feedback on this topic. We are more than willing to assist you in returning any product that you believe is faulty.

I can see our team members were in contact with you and advised that we just needed the faulty item to be returned to us, so we can then assess the item and proceed with providing a remedy.

If you are unable to physically come to a store location, you are able to ship the faulty items back to us.

From what I can see you declined to proceed with this process and decided instead to dispose of the faulty product.

We are sorry to see that the item in question has caused this issue. If there is any further assistance you need, don't hesitate to reach out to our team.

Regards,
Jarrod.

Extra surcharge

Recently bought a gaming computer on their online store. Upon checking out. They charged me with extra surcharge on using visa (PayPal etc). Their given reason was those payment charge me fee not them! What a lame excuse… other company like JB Hi Fi don’t have these extra charges.

Quoting HIGHER than advertised

Simply asked if their advertised price was their best price. Was told they would email me a quote.
The quote was HIGHER than their advertised price, it also included a shipping fee when the website showed free shipping. and then they added a $60 'surcharge'.... So they tried to quote me higher than their advertised prices.
Sick of this company. They used to be good, but they simply stopped caring.
Do better Scorptec. People are sick of being ripped off and treated like garbage.

Caution: Poor Experience with Scorptec South Melbourne

Caution: Poor Experience with Scorptec South Melbourne
I recently had a frustrating experience with Scorptec South Melbourne and wanted to share it to help others.

My advice:

1- Avoid them if possible.

2- If you must, document everything — never rely on verbal promises.

We ordered a custom PC ($6,000) and monitor ($1,700), totaling ~$8,000 (Order #4085921). Despite the website saying all items were in stock with a 2-day build time, we were told after ordering that it would take 7–10 business days.

Issues included:

Website bugs and misinformation

Poor communication despite email confirmation

Rude customer service

Missed deadlines and a demand for extra delivery payment already covered

Only after pressing them to review their own emails did they finally agree to fulfill the order as promised.

Conclusion:
For such a large purchase, I expected professionalism — but instead got delays, disrespect, and zero accountability. If you deal with Scorptec South Melbourne, proceed with caution and keep everything in writing.

Extremely poor service

Purchased an item which was in stock. 2 days later was checking the progress of my order and noted item was not in stock anymore. I called Scorptec to enquire was was going on, was told item not in stock and I would have to wait. I was also told no update could be provided. (You could practically hear the shoulder shrug over the phone).
3 weeks later requested a refund, as I was advised if I can purchase elsewhere do so. It has been 5 business days since and no refund processed, my emails requesting an update are being ignored.
I'd give 2 stars if refund gets processed without fair trading or ACCC getting involved.
I have found scorptec to be unprofessional to deal with, with little to no care to customers. I'd recommend making a purchase elsewhere, you can get similar if not better prices elsewhere with better service and accountability.

Faulty products

I bought a Benq monitor that was faulty
They asked me to send it back and after sending it back they sent me pictures that the screen was damaged in transit and it’s not their fault
$1200 out of pocket and they offered me a $50 discount code on a new monitor
Stay away from this company
I orde usually all my stuff form mwave but I was impulsive and I saw they had it in stock and mwave didn’t
Please if you’re reading this don’t buy from here and go elsewhere
Any vendor is better than those scammers

Super slow dispatch and shipping time

Stay away, there's way better online vendors that are cheaper.
I went with scorptec as they clearly displayed an express option. Ordered on a Friday and haven't received the laptop 8 days later.
It sat packed in their depot waiting to be dispatched for 3 days.
No help at all from them.

Just use someone else

I bought a laptop n I thought it was…

Sorry about weighting on mobile phone not PC but I bought a laptop n I thought it was touch screen n asked them if I could return it they seemed ok About it but then said there would be a fee as the can't resell it as new. I told them the biggest problems are that the Google AI search is not compatible ng up with the correct things you want a claim they are all touch screen or brand new til you read more if it's refurbished it's not new. I really wanted a touch screen n prices are too high right now n I hope the Toshiba bring out better models I can save for because right now the Australian market for laptops is a complete joke n lie. Overall staff were friendly with my questions n appeared to want to help but more honesty n transparency has to be the key to professionalism n a happy customer equals a good business if they are loyal to come back. Google search AI is the real enemy here and the government creating too much overall poverty mind sets in Australia n giving you much to overseas n letting real Australians down. I am waiting for a better model but I need a working laptop now . The other laptop was damaged in the cyclone when the cat sat on it in fear but mum won't have the home insurance back here. n keeping them s as a back n lesson learnt that sales n Google with ai can't be trusted .

Don't pay for express post

As I see in other reviews, their express shipping is a scam. They hold online orders for days with a status of "Order ready to be dispatched." You have to prompt them to post the item even though you pay for express post. They have in their fine print later after you have paid that it does not mean they process the order any quicker, so there is no point.

They don’t fix things, they break them

Held my pc for 3 weeks without doing any work to it other than breaking my gpu fan, gave me a week worth of frustration trying get my pc back, then told me the fan was already broken despite the fact that on an offical form, the technician didn’t say anything about a broken gpu fan. Tried to contact them about it, they basically said too bad so sad. Since 2020 I haven’t had a single good experience at scorptec. Don’t shop here if you care about your sanity

Cheaper tech store, but at the price of good customer service.

Don't fall for the hype about this company like i did. My first purchase here was a pre built pc a year ago and I had to reapply the thermal paste on it the day I brought it because whoever built it put nearly no paste on it, causing my CPU temp to sky rocket just by starting it.

My second purchase was a $300 razor mouse about a month and a half ago for my partner's birthday. Last week the side panels inputs stopped working and we couldn't get them to work after an hour of trouble shooting, so I decided to take it back under warranty, and this is where I learned why this company has a 1 to 2 star rating on every other review site that isn't google.

It took 24 hours to get approval before I could even take the item in store to get it looked at. Then when I get there I'm serviced by a guy named Josh who said "yeah these mouses are notorious for having issues with their side panels," as I'm handing it over, which is where I thought things would go more smoothly, but was quickly proven wrong. As he does his diagnostic to confirm the issue, the buttons on 2 of the 3 panels weren't working like i said, yet he started grilling me about what trouble shooting I did with the attitude of an angry high school IT guy who was called in to "fix" a class room computer that just needed to be restarted. He then insisted that it was a software issue and not a hardware issue and then asked why we didn't just restart razor synapse and the device to fix it, even though my partner and i did that already and it still didn't fix the issue. then he asked why I didn't just reach out to razor support instead.

This is where I get frustrated because I wouldn't spend an hour and a half on public transport to get to the store over an issue that could be fixed via a restart, especially since whenever i've had a mouse that's had an issue with it's side buttons not working, its always been a hardware issue. After I insist to get it fixed under warranty, he tells me it's going to take at least 15 days for them to look at it, and even longer if they do find it to be a hardware fault. So I hand it over and leave frustrated and have to explain to my partner why he is going to be left without a mouse for at least 2 weeks. It's been a week since then, and after looking at the status update on the website, it's taken them a week just to approve the mouse be sent to their repair centre.

Honestly, these guys might be a bit cheaper than other tech stores in Australia, but it's not worth the cheaper price when they're customer support is trying to compete with Australia post over who can be the slowest company.
