ScS is the worst company I have ever…



ScS is the worst company I have ever dealt with and I am 65 years old. I have a list of broken promises, missed delivery dates and not delivering parts of my sofa. Plus the bits that did arrive had some major defects. I have tried to be patient but they constantly keep making broken promises. My experience is well documented but unfortunately to long to detail here.

How the staff in this place take peoples monies then don’t give a hoot about the aftercare.

The people in that showroom pretend to…

The people in that showroom pretend to be friendly, but it’s a total act. They’re cold, calculating so and so’s. Like to call them something immoral but cannot it will be removed!!! They are conning hardworking people into throwing their money at absolute garbage substandard products. I couldn’t live with myself for a second, let alone sleep at night, if I spent my life ripping people off with zero consequences. It’s shameless, disgusting, and pure exploitation at its worst. Anyone with an ounce of decency would be furious.

Iv had the skip remove this so called sofa! Sick to death chasing this up. You can keep the money, £3700 won’t last you long with this type of service you give out.

They’ll use every excuse under the sun…

They’ll use every excuse under the sun — mostly just to get you off the phone or out of the store. Don’t be fooled by how nice they seem at first.

I was given one lame excuse after another. I specifically ordered a sofa that was guaranteed to arrive before Christmas, and now I’m being told there’s a delay until mid-January. They should be giving customers the option to cancel in situations like this, but instead they claim they can’t do anything.

The customer service has been absolutely disgraceful. At this point, I honestly don’t think they ever intended to deliver before Christmas — it feels like nothing but lies.

My parents recently purchased furniture…

My parents recently purchased furniture from SCS and had to wait much longer than expected for delivery. They are in their late 80s and needed a good-quality set, so they bought two recliner sofas and a reclining chair, costing just under £4,200 — definitely not a cheap purchase.

The salesman in the showroom — I’m not sure of his name, but he had a foreign-sounding name and was bald — assured them that the furniture was top of the range, comparing it to brands like Ercol and G Plan. However, after only two weeks, the furniture has dipped in several places and already looks years old. The backs of the sofa and chair have to be plumped up after every use, which is not something my elderly parents should have to deal with.

We made a complaint, and SCS sent someone out to inspect the furniture. He said it needed more filling, and the stuffing inside looked like the cheap cushion inserts you can buy for £2.

He even agreed with us. He said he’d file a report and that someone would be in touch. That was two months ago.

We’ve phoned multiple times since, but customer support never seems to know what is happening. All we keep getting are empty promises that someone will contact us soon.

No one has got in touch.
Overall, this has constituted an exceptionally poor experience and an unacceptable standard of service.

I worked for this company two years ago…


I worked for this company two years ago and from minute 1 of starting the job I had never experienced such a hateful and spiteful group of people , I saw first hand the corruption , lies , deceit and tribalism of anyone who worked there from top to bottom .
When I was forced to leave i went to citizens advice and they laughed and pulled out a drawer full of complaints from ex staff and customers alike saying there's no chance of anything going anywhere because everyone looks after each other managers are married or related to customer service or HR representatives , in each store they are inter related or best of mates . People move stores constantly so you can never track down a complaint , absolute joke.

When I eventually left and sought advice, Citizens Advice told me they had already received many similar concerns from former staff and customers. They explained that it would be difficult to pursue anything formally because many people within the organisation seemed closely connected—managers, customer service, and HR staff was looking after the managers.

my partner loved a sofa from the same company. Despite my warnings and their reassurances that things had “changed,” she went ahead with the purchase. At the start of the year everything looked sorted—dates booked, payments made—but it quickly fell apart.

To this day, we still don’t have the sofa. We’ve had constant conflicting explanations, missed calls, broken promises, and repeated delivery dates that never happened. At one point we were even told the order hadn’t been placed at all.

This has caused huge disruption: arranging furniture removal, organising help from others, taking time off work, and repeatedly chasing updates. As someone with disabilities, this has been especially stressful.

Based on my experience, I’d be very cautious about using this company. If you do, keep records of every conversation, date, and name, and still be prepared for potential disappointment.

Still awaiting my refund from September!
This is a joke. Why don’t you refund peoples monies back? Iv have rang every number and contacted every email. The manager blatantly ignores you. Doesn’t respond to emails, am so angry! I have got in touch over 40 times am fed up.

Misleading advertising and poor…

Misleading advertising and poor customer service

Before purchasing, I asked the sales representative three times if my sofa would arrive before Christmas. He assured me it would 100% arrive on time. Despite this, shortly after ordering, the listing was changed to show delivery after Christmas, with ScS blaming their supplier instead of acknowledging the misleading advert.

Customer service was equally poor. The manager was dismissive and unhelpful, showing no interest in resolving the issue. ScS also changed my finance instalment amounts without explanation and then denied making any changes — unprofessional and potentially unfair trading.

My follow-up messages have been ignored. No accountability, no resolution, and no customer care.

I’ll be escalating this to the Ombudsman and relevant regulators. Based on my experience, I strongly advise others to avoid ScS. Judging by all the negative reviews on here I see am not the only unhappy customer. Says a lot about a company!!!

I had the Belford suite with the…

I had the Belford suite with the console delivered in September. I’ve already had technicians out twice because the seats aren’t aligned and there are huge gaps at the back of the sofa when you sit down. I was told this is “normal,” even though it definitely wasn’t like that in the shop.

Now I’ve noticed that one of the reclining seats is creaking when you sit on it.

I’m also extremely disappointed with the service from this company. The delivery was a month late, the aftercare has been awful, and no one gets back to you—you have to constantly chase everything up.

Not sure who is managing this place, but the management is far from reassuring. The sales team was very quick to take my payment, but unfortunately no one seems willing to help now that there’s an issue.

I walked into this store expecting to…

I walked into this store expecting to have a nice browse for a new sofa, but instead I was met wit an intrusive sales approach I’ve ever dealt with. I came in to look for a sofa, nothing more, yet the salesman behaved as if he needed to know my entire personal background before I was even allowed to browse.

He asked completely unnecessary and invasive questions like “Who lives with you?” and kept pushing for my budget, which I found incredibly personal and none of his business. His constant nit-picking, and prying made me feel more interrogated than assisted.

On top of that, he was watching which direction I walked in. It was awkward, and honestly felt very unprofessional. If I like a sofa, I’m perfectly capable of asking for the price or measurements myself. What makes it worse is that the other furniture shops on that same strip were nothing like this. I visited three of them, and each one simply asked if I needed help. When I said no, they left me to browse in peace — exactly how it should be.

Do not buy from this company

Do not buy from this company. I was guaranteed delivery before Christmas when I placed my order back in October. Today, when I checked the website to confirm the delivery date, I found a message saying the order is now delayed until January 2026.

I had already arranged for someone to take my sofa in mid-December based on the delivery promises I was given. When I called the Bolton branch, they first said they weren’t aware of any delay—but after checking while I was on the phone, they confirmed the order was delayed and told me, “Don’t get rid of your sofa.” I explained I had already promised it to someone, and they basically said, “Well, you can cancel if you want.” So tried to cancel then told we cannot cancel the order. What a joke of a company.

After nearly six weeks since ordering, this is the first time I’m being told about the delay. In store, we asked multiple times about delivery before Christmas and were told 100% guaranteed, even asked if we’d accept it early. Completely unacceptable.

I think the lady knew when she took our order it wouldn’t arrive. Am reading terrible terrible things about this company all over social media. I am actually scared to even receive this order. I want a refund!! I would rather go else where.

My delivery was the guaranteed 14 days. I got a text saying delivery Thursday 6th Nov between 3 and 3.30 ...still waiting and the communication is a disgrace Store basically saying I need to deal with the distribution centre who I have called repeatedly with no answer have nothing to sit on and they dont give out loan sofas .....total shambles.

Am not being funny but if you are taking the sales then you are fully responsible to check where a paid customers products is. You work for the company but claim you cannot check where my order is. What kind of shat is this!!
I have never ever experienced such thick behaviour from a company. You work for the company how can you not check? Honestly I don’t know what to say about Scs. The people working here have no basic education.

Extremely Disappointed with SCS!!

Extremely Disappointed with SCS!!

Purchased sofas that were delivered this month and from day one they’ve been faulty (uneven cushions, visible support bar, poor padding). They’re also much lower than the one in-store!

Raised the issues right away, sent photos, and had a technician visit but they blamed “uneven use” after just 5 days. SCS has refused to help and advised me to contact Furniture and Home Improvement Ombudsman if I wanted to pursue the matter further.
After spending over £2,000, I expected much better quality and service. Very poor aftercare. Be cautious and inspect everything carefully or avoid altogether.

Honestly

Honestly, this was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had in a store. From start to finish, it was a circus of incompetence — inaccurate orders, wrong details taken by the sales advisor, and me constantly chasing them to fix what they messed up. Endless calls, endless emails, and enough stress to last a lifetime. Every time I asked for an update, I got fobbed off with more excuses and fairytales about delivery times.

The delivery schedule was a complete nightmare, and after all that chaos, did anything actually get resolved? Of course not.

I’m sorry, but the staff here seem to have collectively skipped the day they taught basic education — or maybe any education at all.

Would I recommend? Definitely NOT!!!

Terrible service

Constant conflicting information regarding the delivery of my sofa. I tried to contact Tarique, the sales rep who handled my order, but he never answers his phone—even though he was very responsive on his personal mobile before we placed the order. He chased us multiple times to complete the purchase, and unfortunately, we gave in. In hindsight, it was clearly a push for commission.

When I couldn’t get through to anyone to complain, I went into the store in person and requested to see the manager. I eventually received my sofa a few weeks late, and due to the poor service and constant misinformation about delivery dates, I was promised a refund of my deposit as an apology.

It’s now been over two months, and I still haven’t received the refund. I’ve chased this up multiple times by email, only to be given different excuses—“it’ll be in 7 days,” then “7–10 days”—but nothing ever happens. I’m still waiting and having to follow up again and again. Keep going round and round.

Absolutely appalling service.
