As a company, we order on regular basis. Great service, always there to help Great products staff very knowledgeable overall great experience good company to deal with. NCF
We are absolutely thrilled with our Searchlight lights. Our friends and family agree that they are the highlight of our new home design. We chose from the huge range to find both simple and elegant functional fittings along with some real show-stoppers! We couldn’t be happier.
Beautiful light fittings, perfect service, I would only ever go to Searchlight for my lights.
As a business, we place regular orders with Searchlight Electric and have done so for many years. I find their products of good quality and their sales office staff are always very helpful on the occasions i have had to speak to them or make an inquiry via email.
I went to their showroom in Manchester and got blown away. The biggest and most exciting collection of light fittings. I had an assurance and guidance by the lovely staff and once I’ve chosen the ones I wanted I got the order and delivery swiftly.
The installation was easy and straight forward but the best part are the lights! When they were up there it was stunning and completed the restaurant I’ve built in the west end of london. It had everything I’ve wished for and more.
For me there’s simply no other place to go to from now.
The builders were ahead of schedule and needed the lights NOW!! I placed an order over the phone for 20 trimless lights (plastered in fittings - genius!) and they were in the builders hands within the hour!! Incredible courteous service, best price around and stunning product! I was also given a detailed explanation as to which type of bulb would work best for the room I was lighting- it’s all about the Kelvins!! Will be back for more for my next project!
Fabulous lights which all my visitors comment on when they come to visit .
Don't buy their very expensive yet nasty, cheap foreign imports. In the cold light of day they are ugly, garbage lamps masquerading as British. Don't be fooled by "British Designed" as I was. It means absolutely NOTHING! Avoid like the plague!!!
Awful Staff !!!!!!!!!

Excellent customer service, Steve was really helpful.
Lovely products and we will definitely be buying any future lighting from them.
We recently purchased a number of stainless steel outside lights, for an exclusive development of 10 houses in the picturesque village of Margam, nice houses, upwards of 600 grand a pop.. so they had to look the part, between the 10 homes we fitted about 75 lights.. so, pretty costly but they looked the part and being stainless steel they should last a long time… actually,it was about 6 months, then the rust set in.. on inspection the base of the tubular body seemed to be unprotected unlike the rest of the fitting, rust there had started to spread upwards, to the rear the lights were fairing really badly.. as we had guaranteed the work for 2 years we started replacing the “faulty batch”.. upon contacting the manufacturers SEARCHLIGHT we were informed that it wasn’t in fact rust, it was “tea staining” we were to rub the fittings with a cloth then apply a coat of machine oil, give us credit, we tried.. the rust, oops sorry tea staining.. was reduced.. hardly noticeable under the dust that soon adhered to the light coating of oil.. but the residents soon started complaining about their now grey lights, we explained about the heavy accumulation of tea in the atmosphere.. but I think they didn’t belive me.. 9 months later and we are back replacing the lights we have already changed once..
Rusting stainless steel, yep, we have the pictures to prove it, the “tea stains” are now big brown tea leaves, the owners are replacing the fittings and sending me the bill, £600 quid a time..
searchlights official response..
“We wont honour the warranty because they were fitted within 5 miles of ~ the sea, agricultural land, heavy industry .. ????” ( that’s most of wales, Scotland, England and all of Ireland… )
Its clearly stated on our catalogue and on our website they said, nope it aint, and it certainly wouldn’t have been seen as they were bought from a wholesaler, off their own catalogue.. I mentioned this, their response
“You are correct that this is not in the catalogue, we do not offer warranty if within five miles of the coastline , and this may not be on the website as most people don’t read T&Cs on websites and catalogues, (their words not mine), but please be advised that on all our outdoor range it is clearly stated on the installation instructions that the finish is not guaranteed if these are fitted within 5 miles of the coast – please see the attached installation instructions”.. yep, its on the bit of paper stuffed in the bottom of the box...
probably the worst company i have ever had the misfortune to deal with..
I am an electrical contractor.
Lights are good when working but customer response to problems is poor. One light within warranty period failed. They no longer make the transformer..... thats it.
Also some units turned up incomplete never got the replacements......... Use a better company.
I bought a Searchlight floor lamp through a supplier. It was showing bare wires and looked incomplete. I have emailed Searchlight myself twice and have had no response. The supplier I used also emailed Searchlight and got told that the item was correct?? I returned for a refund but had to pay over £16 to return a not fit for purpose item, not impressed.
I have spent thousands of pounds in buying products and recently I bought a product called black bollard code 1086-730, unfortunately only after months certain parts of this product have started to rust and corrode bearing in mind that these bollard lights are meant for outside use and yet they have completely rusted that you can’t even change the bulb. I can’t even take the bollard out as they are fixed to the floor yet when I supplied them with photos and remember I wrote to the owner Mr Hamburger he was not interested at all.
These guys live and breed money and don’t have any ethics in how to treat customers. Total bunch of un-trustworthy business people. How they can sleep at night taking customers for a ride is beyond me!PLEASE BE CAREFUL AS THEY BUY CHEAP PRODUCTS FROM CHINA AND WHEN THINGS GO WRONG THEY WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY TO PUT ISSUE RIGHT EVEN IF IS PENNIES. VERY DISRESPECTFUL TOWARDS CUSTOMERS!

I have to say that I emailed searchlightelectric.com’s customer service as I was having big problems with another company that I bought a bathroom bubble light that developed a fault in its acrylic tubes from (betterbathrooms.com avoid like the plague!). As I found out that searchlight were the main manufacturer supplier of the light. Having emailed searchlight I must say that the lady, Carol Costello (Sales Office Manager) who dealt with my problem was absolutely amazing and supplied the spare parts in a couple of days. Many Thanks Top Marks
Quick service when I ordered a new victorian style light switch.
Wow where to begin, this company is probably the worst one I have ever dealt with for customer care (or total lack thereof).
I bought an illuminated bathroom mirror that screws to the wall. After 7 months it fell off, leaving exposed electric cables. The bracket that hold the mirror to the wall is very cheaply made and of shoddy quality, not worth anywhere near the £105.00 I paid for it.
I contacted the manufacturer as the shop I bought it from has closed down.
this is their reply:
"Dear Sir
Please be advise that your legal contract of sale is with from where you purchased this item. At no point does the responsibility pass from the consumer back to the manufacturer.
Kind regards "
Wow great attitude. I won't settle for this, this is just the beginning.
