Would rate 0 stars if I could

Would rate 0 stars if I could - avoid at all costs.

I purchased a house and this company were the ones who carried out the home report. Only been in the property 1.5 years and found damp and mould which has been rated as a category 3 and costing me £2.5k to fix. They stated on their report no damp was present, however I’ve been advised from a damp specialist and a surveyor that damp can’t go from nothing to a category 3 in 1.5 years.

When I tried to speak to them about this, I had a man from their company keep phoning me and trying to blame my solicitor (who was not at fault). Then I followed their formal complaints procedure, they took ages to get back to me and when they did were rude and I found their tone very aggressive.

I will now be taking further action against this company but don’t want anyone to be left in the same position as me!

I had a terrible experience with this…

I had a terrible experience with this surveyor for a very high fee on a level 3 survey. When I expressed my discontent, I received very aggressive and unhelpful responses. Thankfully I received further professional opinions which avoided me making a big mistake, in purchasing an unsound property. I certainly wouldn’t recommend this company.

Not approved by most mortgage lenders

Got them to provide a home report for me so I could sell my flat.

Turns out they are not approved by a bunch of mortgage lenders.

I have had to get a new report done which has cost £540.

I paid £340 for a useless report

Unprofessional

This company was asked to provide an refresh on a property home report and despite the general market upwards movement in the last 24 months they valued the property at 10% lower than the value 2 years previously. When asked to provide a rational to explain the difference so we could understand the significant reduction they failed to provide any satisfactory response other than they had taken the opinion of some estate agents! Their response, i believe is unsatisfactory and unprofessional particularly for a company who is meant to be regulated by the RICS.

Used them to do a home report...

Used them once recently to do a home report for a flat I was selling and they were very well priced, prompt and quick to have it prepared and back to me. Yes I would reccommend.

Avoid unless you want a worthless report

Paid Select Surveyors to have a home report carried out on my flat. Surveyor visited and sent me the Home Report. I thought all was good.

My estate agent tells me the report is worthless, it is missing a valuation. I have had to pay £345 to have another report done.

How do these people get away with it!
