Don’t bother buying from the UK due to ridiculous customs duties, it’s just a hassle. I have learned the expensive way.

Order to be sent to the UK, not only is the price before VAT 20% higher compared to EU price before tax, but you have to pay import tax 60-70£ before receiving the delivery. Exchanging for a different shoe size or refusing the package triggers import duties in France of about 20%.

Client support is aware of this issue on the French customs side due to previous complaints but never explicitly informs about it. Very disappointing!

The product is nice and the shops in Paris are great, so book a day trip to Paris to buy. Same price as all the taxes!

DHL charges extra for customers for advancing the duty payment. In this case the extra costs around USD 48

If the price on the website can already include duties and taxes with shipment as a flat fee, it would be a better experience for the customer .

The shoes are beautiful! Great stitching, and the cognac color really stands out. I think what I like about this shoe the most is that it is both subtle yet eye catching. The leather outsole is the best of all my dress shoes. I’ve never been so fascinated at the bottom of a shoe before. It is so nice to look at. I got a compliment the first day I wore these oxfords. The leather is very soft and has begun to crease a little after the first wear. I have thicker leather dress shoes around the same price from Italy that I’ve worn more than 5 times and still no crease. This is my only critique that I wish the leather was thicker for the price. I know shoes eventually crease but from my experience if a shoe creases easily after first wear, the leather isn’t the best quality/thickness. Other than that, I love these shoes and they are well made. I know they will last me years to come and I am happy with my purchase.

This is my 3rd patina shoe. It used to be prettier the very first time. Last two pairs just look like a smudge. This will be my last patina shoe.

Update Jan 9, 2023: The patina was corrected. After wearing it, I can confirm that the shoe runs way too small and requires adjustment at least by half or may be even by a whole size up. Since it does not feel that the cobbler at Septieme changed anything at all upon my request, I struggle to update my rating to something higher than that despite the efforts from the company. Frankly, I'd rather keep it at 3 stars because their size chart is rubbish.

This is the 3rd time I order shoes from 7L. This time I ordered the Marceau II Balmoral boots in black. I am very satisfied with the purchase; they are probably the most aesthetically pleasing Balmoral boots at that price point. Well-constructed and without obvious flaws. A little bit disappointed that they didn't come with shoe bags like previous boots I bought from 7L, but, given inflation and the need to keep prices down, I understand.
