Feeder coach experience
Feeder coach experience
Whilst understanding that designated seats are not given out on feeder coaches it is surely to be expected that when travelling as a couple and having booked as a couple one would sit together on the whole trip albeit designated seats do not come into play until one has transferred to the final destination coach.
Our experience on our coach holiday to Liverpool was as follows ….we booked a taxi through Shearings to the pick up point in Worthing where we got on the feeder coach to Rugby services where we were to transfer to our main coach with allocated seats.
Worthing was the last stop for pick ups and my wife and l were therefore the last to board. Despite a number of single seats available there was no double to be had.
When l queried with the driver there was an air of dismissiveness and total lack of any empathy being told there were no reserved seats and we had no choice but to sit separately until we arrived at Rugby.
I am not being disrespectful to single travellers but when transferring to their main coach at Rugby to reach their chosen destination they may well have to sit next to someone they do not know…..often sole travellers enjoy the experience of meeting new people
Why one asks do Shearings not have a stipulation on feeder coach travel that sole travellers can be asked to share with another single traveller if there are insufficient doubles available for couple travellers
I am certain many other couples would be equally upset by the experience seen by us….this issue needs to be sorted….it may happen infrequently and we were deemed unlucky …..that is not the point…it happened …….the experience spoilt our holiday. lf Shearings value customer satisfaction and service they have to remedy

The only downside was 6 o'clock pick up, not Shearings fault as we live on the isle of wight but that's just logistics, thoroughly enjoyed our holiday,oh!! would have liked to stay longer 😁

First coach trip
This was my first trip and because of my experience I will definitely be doing more
Our driver Dave was such a lovely person went out of his way for everyone was a very skilled driver,and was very informative about where we were gave lots of information of points of interest at our stopping points and also stopped at safe places on way home for us to get extra photos if we wanted
But from the moment I got on the coach I enjoyed every second of my holiday the hotel was lovely and the staff were friendly and welcoming (Shaps Wells Hotel)

Just back from a fantastic Yorkshire tour staying at outstanding Nidd Hall, and a massive thank you to Christopher — driver of Coach 190 — who was driving for Lewis Jones I think on behalf of Shearings Holidays 👏
From the moment we boarded, Christopher looked after everyone brilliantly. Friendly, professional, approachable, and always happy to help, he made the whole journey relaxing and enjoyable.
He also handled some extremely difficult situations and unbelievably tight spots right from the start, with absolute skill and professionalism — the sort of roads and manoeuvres that had us all wondering how on earth the coach was going to fit 😅 But Christopher took it all in his stride and kept everyone safe, calm and smiling throughout.
Nothing was too much trouble, the coach was always spotless, and his calm driving and great sense of humour really helped make the holiday even more enjoyable 👍 shame his singing let the side down.
A real credit to the company he drives for and to Shearings An absolute gentleman throughout the tour.

Amsterdam and the Dutch bulbs
My friend and I recently returned from a trip to Amsterdam. first and foremost, the two drivers - Jason and Steve were wonderful. they did everything possible to make our trip not only comfortable but entertaining and informative. Keukenhof was beautiful and worth the visit but very busy. Amsterdam was wet but a last minute plan to join the tour of the Cheese and Clog farm made the day very enjoyable. The only down side was the hotel didn't stock English tea. not the end of the world as we got plenty on board the coach but still would have been nice after a long day to get a nice cuppa before bed. Wish i had taken a bigger case and i came back with more bags than i could carry especially after picking up bulbs for my garden and of course Duty Free! had an brilliant time and met new friends. the drivers spent time with us when they could which was nice too and we had a good laugh. i would definitely go again. Thank you lads for a job well done!

Just wanted to say how great our coach…
Just wanted to say how great our coach trip, imperial capitals was with Annemarie and John.
It was wonderful from start to finish. They both went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a fantastic time and nothing was too much trouble .
We covered a lot of miles and saw some amazing places, think Vienna was our favourite.

Travelled to Malgrat de Mar with trip…
Travelled to Malgrat de Mar with trip beginning on 25th April. Hotel Monteplaya was fantastic with lovely lady Elena on the restaurant desk. Hotel is a 2 minute walk to beach & local train network. Our drivers were Gary & Corey and both brilliant. My friend had to be blue lighted to A&E after an accident in the night. I went with her & Gary liaised with me continuously as did Melissa at Shearings Customer Service. I also want to add that Gary’s professionalism was at the forefront. Doing the day job as well as the Duty of Care was absolutely first class. Both he & Corey checked that I was ok & continued their care throughout the holiday. Luckily my friend was discharged on Thursday evening.
I felt really safe with both drivers on long distances. There was no banter while driving which has happened during past trips.
The local A&E to Malgrat is busy but also very efficient with a translator on duty. Also very clean. If you are travelling don’t forget the GHIC card. It gives the free emergency treatment & people don’t realise.
If I have one very small complaint as this has happened twice. If a group of 3 are travelling please do not put a random person in the middle. It means that the third person is stuck by the window & unable to chat to friends on extremely long journeys!

Went on the Dutch bulbfields tour
Went on the Dutch bulbfields tour. It was lovely... Enough time round the bulbfields and the city's.
The hotel was ok but breakfast wasn't that fantastic, cold eggs and bacon was fatty.. They also didn't have hot chocolate...
The coach drivers were lovely Chris and graziella are so kind and caring of their passengers checking they are ok and are always on hand to answer questions or give good advice on where to go. I'd book a holiday with them again definitely.

What made our holiday experience great…
What made our holiday experience great was our outstanding coach drive Christopher Jackson. Good Holiday with an outstanding driver. Only downside was eating at 19:30. Would be good if this could be 18:30 - 19:00. Falmouth was the best tour - as we couldn't go to the Isle of Scilly due to the weather.

Dutch bubfields
We recently went on a coach trip to the Dutch bulb fields and honestly, I can’t recommend it enough. From start to finish, everything was incredibly well organised and ran smoothly.
The coaches themselves were very comfortable, making the journey relaxing and enjoyable. A huge shoutout has to go to our drivers, Jason and Nathan, who were absolutely brilliant throughout. They were funny, informative, and genuinely friendly, creating such a welcoming atmosphere. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them, and they really went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time.
The whole experience felt well thought out, with everything running on time and exactly to schedule, which made it completely stress-free. All in all, a fantastic trip that I’d highly recommend to anyone considering it.

Great holiday in Cornwall
Great holiday in Cornwall. Coach was comfortable. Driver (Gavin) helpful and friendly. Hotel clean and the food was good. Enjoyed the daily excursions.
There was just a bit of confusion during the changeover at Lymm Services on the way home.
We assumed we were taking the feeder coach back to Stockport, to pick up our home connect taxi there, the exact reverse trip from the previous week. It turned out that the home connect taxi was waiting for us in the services this time, but nobody told us. All sorted in the end once the mistake was discovered. Staff should perhaps have explained this when we arrived at Lymm.
Anyway, this did not detract from our holiday and we would certainly use the home connect service again.

Lake Garda and Villa Mulino
Just returned from Lake Garda and the hotel Villa Mulino. Absolutely amazing holiday. I would recommend to anyone. Spotless hotel, delicious food, friendly staff who go above and beyond for the guests. This is a beautiful part of the world and I can’t wait to visit again. Destinations visited are amazing and beautiful. The tour crew, Chris and Graziella were fantastic. So knowledgeable about the history and culture of the regions, as well as providing a great experience on the trip. They looked after us all with kindness, respect and compassion.
