Shiftsmart is the worst company I've ever had the misfortune of working for. It'can be hard to find anything positive about a company when I work shifts without compensation. I've worked 3 years... See more

They never answer back on any tickets…
They never answer back on any tickets out in.. If you happent to work longer then needed you dont get paid for that time. They also don't pay you for everything. I am still owed for shifts. Their bonus is a joke. Never got paid for that either. They will change your shifts on you and not even say anything about it..

I work just smart a lot never had a problem until recently
I did a shift I completed everything it even says 100% complete but my payment got rejected because I wasn't at the store supposedly I checked in and did all the work with pictures and support won't respond.
If anyone is serious about filing a…
If anyone is serious about filing a lawsuit, I'm onboard. I have 3 children and recently went through an eviction. My husband works but I work Shiftsmart to provide gas for him to get to his main job or to pay for a night in our hotel room. I have driven 100 miles or more in 1 day to get paid 50$ and you can only cash out once a day instantly and they charge you 1.99 to get your money out. The app recently wouldn't accept my login info, which was fine. I tried to get a code to redo my password and they never sent it. I had to remake a whole new account. I made $40 the first day with my new account and before I could cash out, they banned my account, took my $40, and claimed it was cuz I had made 4 different accounts. Which is a complete fabrication. You cannot speak to a human. If you do get a text from a real person, you can guarantee that same number will not work the next day and the person you spoke to probably doesn't work there anymore. Never complain about being jerked around because they will literally, again, ban your account, and take your hard earned money. I can barely keep the gas in my car to get to these 1.5 hr jobs or replace the 4 tires that have gone bad on me in 2 months from the 100s of miles of driving. If you have 100% rating scores, they will still suspend you if a circle k worker doesn't approve of what you look like. These people are racists, thieves, scam artists, liars, you name it.stay clear!!!
Inital orientation shift
Inital orientation shift, the store was closed and no one from Shiftsmart showed up. Wasted and hour of my time and certainly don't expect to hear from them again since according to them, I didn't complete my shift. Good luck on this gig job if you choose to try it. OH, then I get a text saying I'm good to go and able to schedule a shift with PepsiCo, hello, what are you AI bots doing. No human contact whatsoever.
Their app designer are terrible
I downloaded their app and try to set up an account. My birthday was required. The only way to enter it was to go backwards from August 2007. I would have to go back to July of 1963. At 12 months per year and 44 years that would have been hitting the back button almost 500 times. Why would I want to work for a company whose software developers are idiots.
Completely scammed no real customer…
Completely scammed no real customer support just a chat bot. The app bugged out during my orientation. I completed all the tasks and stayed there. Never got paid and am getting zero feed back. If you are like me you probably really need funds if you are willing to do the work for them. Good luck getting paid. They’ll be lucky if they don’t end up with a major lawsuit.
So I worked a shift on the 22nd…
So I worked a shift on the 22nd recently at the Circle K on Kipling Street, the active manager there was super nice super helpful however shift smart was not. Three times now, including this last time I had set up for jobs, randomly they disappear on the day of so I could not clock in on the 22nd the last two times they canceled me. I did not go, but this third time I ended up going to the shift anyways. So I get there I work from 1 PM to 5:10 PM the whole shift the manager that they had reached out to her higher up to let her manager know and also notified shift Smartt and sent them an email as well. I got screwed over on my pay. They canceled my shift for no reason and basically what’s about to happen. They’re going to hear from my whole lawyer and then some. I will not work for free. I will not work for anything less. I busted my butt. I worked hard. I came in with a smile on my face, and still worked to the best of my ability and even better. I will not be screwed over on my pay shift. Smart sucks.!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I worked a shift and was under the assumption I would be paid promptly, but after waiting over 12 hours, I still have not received my payment.
The lack of clear communication about payment schedules is a serious issue. When I tried to get help from the support team, the experience was just as frustrating. I was met with generic, automated responses that offered no real solutions or answers. It's clear they are not equipped to handle real problems.
Potential workers need to be aware of this lack of transparency and the frustrating support process before accepting a job. It's an issue that affects more than just me.
I just recently started working for…
I just recently started working for Shiftsmart as a food prep. I agree with many of the writers here that it is very disorganized and we do not get enough training. I am working one Circle K. That’s the only store I will work. I am very fortunate that the manager and the employees have been very kind to me and have helped me out so much. I also am a very kind to them And speak respectfully. I follow the app the best I can it’s a lot of work to try and get done in 90 minutes. Most of the time I’m over. I’ve been paid immediately. No problems with getting paid. This is a side gig for me to earn some extra cash it’s a break from my real life 40 hour week job that I’m totally burnt out from , I would recommend this job for anyone without high expectations, that can organize themselves, it’s simple it’s not difficult good luck
Do not work for them
not work for them
Food Prep, Freezer Stocker, and Midday Cleaner
Pensacola, FL
Working for them is ok if you trying to make ends meets but me personally I feel like I got played cause on 08/16/2025 I work 3 different job sites and one job I was the there from 7am until 12pm doing food prep for breakfast and lunch and all because the app was asking for the same thing I did for breakfast I uploaded the same cooking items except for the food items when it came to taking pictures of my work and they flagged it as fraud and so I didn't get paid for lunch.
They should tell you in orientation that you cannot use the same pictures but when I did orientation the lady that trained us told us that we can use the same pictures except for food items.
Then they have you at a job that they know take more then the time they give you and clock you out if you not done you still get paid but you will have to finish everything on the task to close that job out.
An then it's no good communication between them and the stores or you cause I witnessed at 2 store I showed up and they would say you supposed to be here earlier but how I suppose to know that cause when I opened the app I see a shift I accept and head that way, the app says something different so when you get there the store manager kinda mad cause you show up for that shift but not the time they needed someone, so I feel like they need to let these people know hey the person that was coming called off and we can send someone soon if they pick that shift but don't.
Pros
They only good thing is you can clock in 30 minutes early and leave 30 minutes early
Cons
Just take new pictures every time or you get flagged for fraud
owed for several shifts
owed for several shifts, never recieved support/nor help.. have all proper documentation, photos, videos, witnesses and even had to train someone, NO SUPPORT /SCAM
owed for work done and for bonuses.
Negative
All the reviews that the people are saying on here are absolutely true. They’re still doing the same stuff that they are saying that they’re doing as far as payments, getting in touch with getting in touch with them, etc. there is no one that we can talk to on the phone and you never get an email returned from anyone. They are great for judgment and what they see but they don’t respond to any questions you have. They let people talk to you rudely and disrespectful.
Shiftsmart will not pay you for turnaround
I'm really frustrated that ShiftSmart can call me to remind me about a shift, but when I have questions about my payment, there's no response. I have to go to great lengths just to get an answer, including reaching out to the Better Business Bureau and sending numerous emails, all while my payment remains unaddressed. It's not fair. The store turned me away, and during another shift, the colleague I was supposed to work with wasn’t there. This situation is unjust. I faced two rejected payments despite being informed on July 24th at 6:00 a.m. that another shift partner was working in the cooler, which led to me being turned away. Then, on July 25th at 8:30 a.m., I arrived at 8:33 and looked for assistance before my orientation. I waited for 10 minutes and even reached out again, but still received no response. I was also told I would receive a text or call about this, yet again, there was no communication. I've wasted gas for an unproductive trip, and I urgently need my payment, as both my time and fuel are valuable. Need My Money please
If I could give this company negative…
If I could give this company negative stars, I 100% would give them all negative 5. They absolutely suck as a company. First off the app hardly works, you are only able to talk to a computerized assistant. It says that a ticket will be created and emailed to you but it doesn't. Me and another young man probably around the age of 20 showed up to our shift and was left standing there for an hour. The Circle K employees couldn't help us. They didn't even know the person who was supposed to train us. We tried to reach out multiple times but like I said there's no way of contacting anyone. Of course our money was rejected for the time we were there which is absolutely crazy. The company wants us to show up and be on time and to do the tasks but the people who work for them that are supposed to train us don't even show up to help us do that and therefore we wasted our time and our day messing with these scummy companies owners. Absolutely fraudulent company. I promise you don't want to waste your time whatsoever because it's exactly that, a waste of your time. I'm taking it above and beyond because they are gonna pay me and that kid one way or another.
Shift smart app is horrible
Shift smart app is horrible, they never have any shift available and now they are glitchy app is asking me to resign in and it won't accept my password so now I'm erasing your terrible app that I've had for 3 weeks and no work
Shiftsmart App - Avoid It
Shiftsmart App has potential, but Circle K management is not ready for this. For example: I attended the Shiftsmart paid orientation, paid training & passed the security background checks. Worked several locations via the app. First come first serve type of work.
Here is the problem, any complaint from a store manager, they ban your account and do not pay you. They have to side with circle K as they are a paying customer.
The worker is meaningless.
A particular store had their cooler next to cigars and cigarettes. We are required to take pictures of our tasks as we complete them. Location did not have enough bins to prep the food. Computer station next to the sink dish washing station. Store was a mess. No system in place other than Shiftsmart people coming in and getting some stuff done. I tried to complain to the manager that about the lack of bins and how she wanted items prepared and
saved.
The manager show me taking pictures of the work and bin prep areas and accused me of planning to steal her cigars. She complained and I did not get paid for the hours worked that week.
No reply or anyone has responded from Shiftsmart.
I do not recommend anyone work for this company.

The worst
I don't work for Smart shift! I do know that most of these people are not vetted, not trained and are absolutely not fit for work! This company will be the downfall for many companies it has contracts with. And all the employees of these companies are the ones being made so much worse off!
Bad company and an incredibly bad idea!!!
It just never worked
It just never worked, not one job.Could I get on it?And I message them and ask them. And they said oh, just keep watching for nothing for a month.Trying to get it to work, it didn't it?Doesn't
This app do not like to pay people for…
This app do not like to pay people for shifts and they rarely have shifts available
The Lies Shiftsmart Tells........
I have a reliability score of 100% and an on-time score of 98% and they keep saying that keeping these scores will keep you in good standing and offered shifts. This is a lie and they need to stop telling it. Previously I've been sent stores in my area and now nothing. The App crashes and slow loads and I might see a sporadic shift every now and again. It's like I'm being blocked from getting any shifts. This CEO, his staff and App are NOT American Worker friendly.
