Shipsurance Insurance Services, an Assurant Company, is a shipping insurance provider. We provide coverage for shipments sent via the major shipping carriers at a greatly reduced rate; often more than 90% off of the carrier rates. Think of us more as a business partner than a shipping insurance vendor. We work with you as your claims management department. We have been insuring businesses for over 10 years and underwritten by Voyager Indemnity Insurance Company. Voyager is 'A' rated by A.M. Best."

This company is a joke rejecting a claim simply because the package has not been opened within 15 days. I will make sure to not use them in the future again and take my business elsewhere. One of those companies that get you by the small print and have as unfavorable terms as they possibly can. Not recommended. Stay away.

I have been using Shipsurance service to insure for my shipment for a few years, and they have reimbursed me a few times when the shipment was lost. To file for a Loss Claim, Shipsurance will need the customer to complete a very simple online affidavit from (3-4 clicks to complete) to verify the shipment was lost. Recently, I had a customer who refused to cooperate to fill out this simple form, and eBay would not help me at all and just refunded this customer with my funds. I appealed to Shipsurance for their help in reviewing this loss claim, and they came to swing for me and fully reimbursed me for this case almost immediately. Shipsurance is truly wonderful..... It empowers me to expand my sales globally with a peace of mind. Thank you, Shipsurance.

This was my first time using Shipsurance for a claim, and I was very happy with my experience. It was so quick, easy, and they took care of my issue (which is not what USPS did). I also liked that I could get an e-check because then I had my money very quickly.

Scammers. Of course Etsy collaborates with these jokers. Here is one of many situations I ran into in which no ethical customer service was received. Sold a concert T-Shirt to a buyer. Paid for the flat rate shipping with appropriate coverage in case it was lost or damaged. Never showed up and customer requested a refund. Pretty fair for online shopping these days. Filed a pain in the ass claim with Shipsurance to re-coup the lost sale. Months later, Shipsurance rep named Emma emails me. States I owe the claim amount back to them as the package was delivered. No way to verify if that was actually the case and or the condition of the original item. The mob should get into this line of work, easy pickings against online sellers.

After having to send multiple requested documents by this shipping insurance overtime for my claim of a broken mineral rock they denied my claim (after doing all I was asked for over a week) stating “claim was an excluded commodity”. No other explanation nor stating why it was excluded. Turns out they do not cover ANY mineral rocks for shipping insurance. That’s my entire business so I have wasted money paying shipping insurance because they truly are not a company providing insurance if something is completely out of my hands and mishandled in the shipping process. Incredibly disappointing and I do no recommend this company. They will try to get out of paying for anything on their part.
EDIT: shipsurance contacted me afterwards to accept the refund for this circumstance. I appreciate what they’ve done.

spent APROX. $50,000 to $100,000 for many years with SHIPSURANCE SHIPSTATION and maybe One claim in 10 years !!!!
AND THEY WILL NOT PAY A CLAIM --HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!!! DO NOT USE THEM
I shipped through pirateship. UPS lost my package and shipsurance is doing everything in their power to avoid paying out. Ridiculous amounts of proof and documentation that UPS wouldn’t even ask for. On top of that, they want to lower my claim value to the lowest price they could find on a used item on eBay! Seriously messed up and unethical.

I submitted a claim for a broken item. I have provided 5 docs and pictures. They have still not paid and keep demanding more pictures. I cannot recommend this company as the time to file a claim is not worth the lack of payment.

Shipsiurance poses as a shipping insurance company eyt denies 100% of its claims. It requires (after SEVERAL SEVERAL) separated asks for additional information down to showing a video of a shipping label being placed onto a box (SERIOUSLY?!!!) This is an INSANE level of proof to have to deliver and as such SHOULD be notified PRIOR to accepting funds to insure packages they will NEVER actually insure.
In effect- this is an INSURANCE SCAM. This MUST be regulated and or fined for it's negligence, abuse and misrepresentation.

After initial issues, Shipsurance came through and covered the cost of insured packages that were lost.

As you can see their response is to blame me for not doing what no small business can afford to do. If I have to have a paid appraiser on staff to use their insurance it doesn't make financial sense to use any of the companies that they provide insurance for. I used Pirateship to send my package because their rates were better than going direct to UPS. If I have to have a paid appraiser on staff to meet the demands of Shipsurance then I might as well UPS directly because in the long run it's much cheaper and I won't have to jump through hoops that make no sense.
DO Not, absolutely do not use this company. Fedex lost a package and when I filed a claim through Shipsurance they told me that I would have had to have a formal, by a qualified, appraisal company before I shipped the package. So... if I ship 60 packages a month I need a staffed appraisal company to be on call whenever I want to ship a package? Who in their right mind would agree to that? What a scam!!

Shippo insures through Shipsurance. Another rip-off.
I have a (legitimate) claim at Shipsurance, they don't want to pay, but ask for the same thing over and over again as if all my letters and documentations fall on blind eyes (and deaf ears). 2 women in that office, who are they? Are they hoping I finally give up? Never again will I insure with them, money thrown out the window.
I started using Shipsurance because of their integration with Shipstation. I have payed insurance for over 150 packages, when I had to make my first claim they requested tons of random information (Even more than FedEx) which I provided and then ended up denying the claim becacuse my packaging is not generic and has my brand logo in it. They should explain their service before accepting companies' money. Very bad work ethic and I am already looking for options to completely close my Shipstation account. I will learn from the mistake of ever making business with this kind of unprofessional and unethic companies. Lesson learned

All your replies to negative reviews are justifying your sketchy and shady methods of business.
When you deal with business owners you should not try to navigate your way around the obvious lack of information in your service that leads to people paying for a service that they do not rely on, SPECIALLY insurance services.
Plus, having my logo in my box would be an excuse if my box was stolen but it was smashed to pieces by FedEx. How does that benefit me or my customers? I had to give a full refund to the customer because I actually value them and I would never make an excuse to avoid fulfilling my duty with them.
Keep up the bad work, maybe you will eventually go out of business.

I get coverage on every shipment through my online store with this company. When my customer got a damaged package, I had them take a photo of that package and submitted it to this company the same day. It took a week and no additional emails to get my insurance claim approved. Very easy and I will keep using this company.

Super convenient, quick, and easy. Filled out the claims questionnaire and was immediately processed.
