Absolutely shocking service from Shred-it.
We booked a confidential document destruction service more than two weeks ago and paid over £1,000 upfront. We were assured the collection would be arranged as soon as possible, yet the entire process has been plagued by poor communication and a complete lack of professionalism.
After waiting for weeks, we were given a collection date of 3rd June, only for it to be changed to 2nd June at the last minute. No consideration was given to the impact this would have on our business.
The most frustrating part was the collection itself. We had 65 boxes of confidential documents ready for shredding. Due to the sensitive nature of the documents, we were not permitted to leave them unattended overnight in the loading bay. On the morning of the collection, I was travelling to the office specifically to move the boxes downstairs.
The driver arrived at 9:00 AM without any advance notice, phone call, text message, or indication of an arrival time. When he saw that the boxes were still upstairs, he simply left. There was no attempt to contact us, no flexibility, and no effort to find a solution.
What makes this even worse is that I am still waiting for someone to contact me. Despite the inconvenience, disruption, and the fact that we have already paid over £1,000, nobody has taken responsibility or provided a clear resolution. The lack of communication has been unacceptable from start to finish.
For a company that handles confidential business documents, I expected a professional and reliable service. Instead, we have experienced poor customer service, missed commitments, a failed collection, and ongoing silence.
I would not recommend Shred-it to any business that values reliability, communication, and professionalism.

I am moving house and had years of old business accounts, old bank statements and medical history to dispose of. After spending the best part of two days shredding at home I realised I wasn’t getting anywhere.
I called , spoke to a lady called Morgan, she sent some confidential waste bags, organised a collection date within four days, the man came loaded the bags job sorted. I received a receipt for my payment and a document to say my paperwork had been securely shredded. Excellent service from start to finish.

This company does not even deserve 1 star, we’ve all worked from home since covid and our office is closed so let’s make this clear - shred-it have not SHREDDED anything for my business for over 4 years yet still charge us!!! It’s a complete and utter joke and no better than citation Ltd, stay well clear, I’m taking this further to CA and FA. Trust me - do not engage their services! Unless a once of shred. I am not going to stop until I get a full refund of payments when you’ve done NO work for us! It’s blatant theft,

This was the first time we used Shred -it and from start to finish they were really easy to deal with. Very professional and helpful. The actual collection was smooth and quick and the collector was very pleasant. I would happily recommend Shred-it.

WARNING! Be very careful when you order bags from this company. They send drivers out to your address without checking the date is convenient to you and then hide behind an email that they say they have sent but then can't resend as proof - nor did we receive a call off the driver who supposedly called us an hour prior to pick up (BUT again they could not provide any proof of a call even being made!) because it simply wasn't made! We rearranged the pick up and are now being charged for the first non pick up and destruction of well nothing because they did not collect anything but insist we pay £104.40. Despite our arguments, unless we pay they will take legal action! So for 7 bags to be taken away it has cost £208.80 an absolute scam. WE WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

We needed a rescheduled collection date as we are moving premises, and unfortunately we left it too late to organise. I knew it would be highly unlikely to get the collection date moved within 3 days, but Stefano did everything he could for us to make this work. We have been using Shred-it for a little while. We have been hugely impressed by the staff who arrive at the door to take away our confidential waste - always cheerful and polite!
In the last week or so we have been trying to fine-tune one or two details about the account and have been very impressed by the customer service delivered by Ellie. She has been quite excellent and very patient when I have not grasped things straight away! Thank you Ellie!
