Great at sales service ..pathetic at after sales service..non existent!

Having bought a Kodiaq back in December and being pleased with the way I was treated .I didn’t think twice when receiving a message about a service recall 72SG to call Simpsons to book the car in.Bad decision on my part. They now have an automated answering service which insists on directing you via a link to your phone to book yourself in for a service.I didn’t want or need a service and it took me ages to get the autobot to connect me with a human. At last I thought a human now we can sort this out.Wrong.The employee who answered refused to put me through to service and insisted on me letting them call me later.Later never came no return call.I then rang my local dealer who answered the phone immediately with a human being who in less than two minutes booked me in for the recall.Simple enough that nothing difficult. No chance of me going back to Simpsons for anything in the future.Great sales..pathetic after sales service.Avoid the dealership if you want things sorting.

Serious Safety Issue but wasn't interested.

My daughter (7 month at the time) become locked in the car due to the car locking itself with the keys inside, contacted Simpsons Skoda, was told it was due a recall for this issue and it'll only take an hour for the software to download, then after two hours of my girlfriend and daughter waiting, they told her it wasn't under recall and that they should've charged us but instead offered "goodwill" by telling us what we already knew, there's an issue with the car, after countless emails, contradicting replies, a false accusation and then the insult of having the MD refuse to reply to me about how this issue Could've endangered my daughter, they now won't respond, would give 0 star if possible, won't be buying another Skoda.

10/10 customer service

Bought a car from Simpsons Skoda in Colne a few months back. I’ve been in a few times to have a look at different cars and each time received excellent customer service. Dean helped me through every step of the process and couldn’t recommend them enough ☺️

Fantastic experience - highly recommend

I recently visited this dealership and was genuinely impressed from start to finish. The sales team were incredibly attentive without ever being pushy - they really took the time to understand what I was looking for and made me feel valued throughout the entire process.
The showroom itself was spotless, well presented, and had a really welcoming atmosphere. What stood out the most, though, was the family feel of the place. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, warm, and genuinely seemed to care about the customer experience.
Overall, it was one of the best dealership visits I've had. I'd happily return and would recommend them to anyone looking for an stress-free, enjoyable experience.

Dreadful service from Simpsons Preston

Dreadful service from Simpsons Preston. I bought a new Elroq from them on 14th December 2025 and left my current leased Octavia with them. I had arranged to end the lease early (by 7th January 2026) but when clearing the car out noticed the rear footwell carpet was wet so a leak / blockage needed fixing.
I was told by the service manager on 16th December that it would be February before they could have the Octavia leak sorted. I thought that timescale excessive but as long as I wasn't paying I let it go.
However I received no communication at all to let me know if or when the car would be ready so I could arrange the BCA collection. I phoned at the end of January and was told the car would be ready the middle of the first week in February and the receptionist said that after she spoke to the service manager I could pick the car up on Saturday 7th February.
I turned up on 7th February with the service manager saying he didn't know I would be picking the car up that day and I couldn't because it was charging - it is a mild hybrid and the battery needed charging after not being used.

It would be ready for me to collect on Monday 9th he said, but after I said I couldn't make it then he said he could have it dropped off at my house on Wednesday 11th (today) and he'd phone on Monday if any issues. No phone call was received and no car has turned up today (11th).
It isn't possible to speak to the service manager on the phone, he is never available "as there is only him" so I'll have to call in again on person to find out when I can either collect or have the car dropped off. The end of lease date gets closer, my early termination date passed over a month ago and I've had to change the BCA collection twice.
Is 9 weeks acceptable and is no communication acceptable?

Update on 12th February. I phoned Simpsons to find out what is happening. Spoke to the receptionist as Chris is very busy. She spoke to Chris (why can't I of she is able to?) and he will need to check with the technicians on the status of the car and give me a call back. This is despite him telling me face to face on 7th February that the car was ready apart from needing to be charged over the weekend of 7th/8th.

Great bodywork repair.

Just had a bodywork repair done on my Mitsubishi at Simpsons, I had purchased it from them several years ago, the finish is excellent, car returned gleaming inside and out, very impressed as it was quite dirty when dropped off.

Above and Beyond Experience

After reading the reviews on trustpilot when I had already put my deposit on a Premium used Skoda Kodiaq at Simpsons Colne I was excepting the worse to say least.
Ill start by telling you I expect nothing less than perfection! and yes there where some ups and downs along the way but the sales guys went "above and Beyond" from start to finish giving me an uplifted confidence that in my instance was a far cry from some others reviews.
I would like to mention and thank John Hughes (Sales) who was unlucky enough lol to have been there for me.
John even came back in to work while being off sick with server back pain, just to make sure everything went to plan for me.
looking forward to the start of a long relationship with Skoda Simpsons of Colne

Undesirable level of trust 👍

Hi I wish l had seen the reviews prior.
I bought a Mazda RF 5 from this bunch of individuals who said it had full service history to find it had a service history not full of main dealership didn't give it over or show me prior to purchase suggested l could get it on the Mazda link app! Nothing showing there! Aprt from 1 service nothing for three years ,but l had to wait for the documents to be delivered a week or so later the fresh paint from crash damage started to settle to find it changed in a few weeks of ownership and l had been told there was no crash history it was clear l paid the going rate for the car so took it to get a price to put it right over 800.00 and now l hear nothing from mark John or Ben! It was an approved car that now lm possibly having to pay on top to get repaired it's shocking no reply from my calls or emails. Tye car was not prepared no number plate fitted to the rear when l came to collect ect.
The new sales guy was so under prepared and in the deep end! ...

Stay away from this bunch! ✅👍.Neil Harrison.

Predictably poor customer service

I enquired about a 2025 Octavia VRS with only 1060 miles on the clock. I had difficulty obtaining any information about the vehicle from the sales executive, but he promised to send me a video of the vehicle. No video arrived despite me asking for it over the phone the following day. His focus was to encourage me to buy a brand new VRS. When I spoke to him I expressed concern about the poor reviews I had read on Trustpilot. He was dismissive of those reviews, telling me that I should look at the good reviews on Google. So, I went back to him to ask for further information on the used VRS, and the video of vehicle. He didn't respond. Thankfully, I can rely on a better level of service from my local Skoda dealer, Johnsons.

No customer service

Bought a brand new car from them less than 2 weeks ago and it's developed a clinking noise going over bumps. They've said it's a 2 week wait to get it booked in and get a courtesy car, I can only drop it off during normal working hours, if I get a pickup and drop off it's a £70 fee!

Unacceptable customer service

I part exchanged my existing ŠKODA for a nearly new one. All was great until I had signed the contract but then the customer service was practically non existent. Emails went unanswered, phone calls not returned. I was given an invoice which was wrong and no other paperwork at all until I persisted. I’ve bought a few cars in my time but this was my worst experience of a car dealership. Very disappointing because this was my fourth ŠKODA car, I rate the brand but not this dealership.

AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP!!

AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP!!! ⚠️

Simpsons Skoda COLNE!

I bought a Volkswagen Tiguan from them in April 2024.
I was told this car had a full service including the automatic gearbox.
I was told this car came with a full years warranty that was Volkswagen approved and a full year road side assistance.

The car was delivered, I was told it would have some fuel in, came empty 😂
I let that slide.

In the August, the car broke down, the gearbox wouldn’t work.
I spoke with the after sales manager.
He advised me that it’s common in these cars but it will be fine after a while & try start the engine tomorrow and see what happen.
The car was drivable but I noticed noting when going into gear 3.
When I spoke with the manager again he said it’s fine to drive & the issue will resolve after a while, it cannot cause any issue with the vehicle.

In December 2024 my car broke down again, this time with a warning that the gearbox was in emergency mode. I spoke with the same manager who said ‘oh there’s nothing we can do it’s out of warranty now’ 🤯
When I questioned this as I was told it was a 12 month warranty he said actually no it was for 6 months only.

Fuming!!! They know exactly what they are doing!
I put in a full complaint because it came to light that actually this was even a warranty registered with the approved warranty team at all & it wasn’t a 12 month one. Oh & I never had roadside assistance included.
Conveniently I was never sent the service history or the warranty documents.
To top that off, the service history showed that the gearbox hadn’t had a service after all. Hence this fault!
Even so, the first time I told the manager about this was within the 6 months of buying the car anyway!!!

Upon complaint I was told if I got the car to them myself, they would have a look at it & ‘look after me’.
I had to pay £170 get it taken from Bradford to Colne.
I then got a call from the same manager to say ‘it’s going to cost £2000 just for the part, let us know if you’re willing to pay & we will fix it’ … ARE YOU ACTUALLY JOKING?! 😡😡😡😡

3 weeks I heard nothing.
I then get an email to say this manager has left & someone else has taken over.
This new manager tells me ‘your car cannot be fixed here it would have to go to a Volkswagen garage’.
DO YOU WANT TO TELL ME WHY IVE PAID £170 FOR IT TO BE BROUGHT TO YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE?! 😡😡

This whole time I’m emailing Melissa page-Wright the customer experience manager explaining how I’ve been mid-sold the car in details, how I have 3 children at 3 different childcare settings & im struggling with no car.
At first she was being nice,
I then asked to reject the car & send it back, she then turned on me. Even sending threats of acknowledging authorities as I’m refusing to collect my car & not allowing them to drop it off here.

After seeking legal advice I am well within my rights to reject this car as I was mis-sold a faulty vehicle, aswell as the warranty, road side assistance and service. Volkswagen financial services are looking into this but the lovely Melissa is refusing to support with a rejection of the vehicle.

Honestly, once you’ve paid them their money they don’t want to know!!

I have had many cars over the years and never had such poor customer service!

If this helps another person I’m happy because people work hard for nice things & pay a lot of money for a reliable car, they are phony’s!

Tried 3 times to ask about a car that was advertised on auto trader. Don’t answer the phone so gave up and ended up buying one from another Skoda dealer. Shame as they are my local dealer. Definitely won’t be using you for service if you can’t even answer the phone! Your loss.

The Good The Bad The Ugly Simpson Skoda Preston

The Good - initial contact with sales was good but that was when there was a possibility of a sale. As with almost all companies these days once that evaporated it has been downhill since. They have held on to my £99 "REFUNDABLE HOLDING DEPOSIT" ever since. Ever since being the 21/01/2025.

The Bad- I have made multiple attempts since to get my deposit back. Firstly, with the sales person and then later various members of staff on the phone and via emails and messaging.

The Ugly- All my efforts and many calls and emails has yet to see me get any resolution and at the time of this review they still hold my deposit. I've various empty promises including an email last week to assure me that it was 100% to be returned to me on Jan 30th that came and went, no refund. Then again Sun 2nd, same again, they were on it and would make the refund immediately or next day that didn't happen either. And then again today they would look into it and come back to me. What a disgrace and no way to treat somebody no wonder they get such bad feedback scores on this site. I'm feed up of hearing from car dealers saying that it can take up to 10 days for a refund to show up on your account. When these refunds are made, they are immediate or maximum 2 hours. All that is just a smokescreen because for some reason, best known to them, they seem to want to hold on to these small deposit. I did intend to buy my new Skoda Elroq from them but because of this farcical catalogue of events I've placed my order with another dealer. What baffles me is why I've been put in this position. All they have achieved is a bad review and a no sale on the Elroq and I would never consider buying a key fob let alone a car from them, all over a £99 holding deposit, bizarre. On a side note, my brother had his Kamiq serviced there under a service contract and they added £69 to top up the brake fluid, not drain and refill the system just a top up on a car with 8000 miles on the clock. This was of course refunded when he queried the cost for what was probably a cap full of brake fluid.

I'm now having to go through my bank to get this £99 refund, something I never wanted to do, but I’ve given them 7 or 8 chances and enough is enough.

Simpsons Škoda of Preston - as good as ever!

This is our 5th Skoda Superb Estate from Simpsons Skoda in Preston; they are not my local dealership, being 3 hours away, but I return due to their exceptional service and friendly professionalism. During this most recent buying experience, these traits were perfectly personified by George Richards, what an asset he is to this business. Recently appointed, as I understand, he is exceptional in this public-fronting role, as a natural and very genuine salesperson. He has been brilliant in his manner, knowledge and service - I couldn’t rate him more highly! He has made the purchase of our most recent car a really pleasurable experience. Thank you to him - and Debbie, who, likewise, has been very helpful, attentive and accommodating with our buying. A great product sold by some great people! I’ll be back for our 6th Superb no doubt!
