Second time renting from Sixt

Second time renting from Sixt, price was good and they gave us a free upgrade which has actually gained our loyalty. Will be using Sixt for all future rentals. The app was super easy to use and no waiting in long ques like many competitors we seen. All verified via the app and the straight to the car where we were met by a lovely gentleman who gave us the keys and off we went. Return also super easy, scan the car through the machine , email within minutes confirming no change to vehicle condition and off we went. Honestly Sixt are way ahead of competitors with technology and service.

Worst car rental experience

I booked a car with SIXT two months in advance and was informed only two hours before my flight that the vehicle was no longer available.
While I understand that unexpected issues can happen, what shocked me was the complete lack of customer support. During the phone call, I was told I could get a car from Avis under the same conditions, but no confirmation, voucher, email, or written instructions were provided. I specifically requested an email because I was travelling to Bristol, a city I had never visited before, and without a car I could not even reach my accommodation.
When I contacted customer support, they repeatedly replied about the refund process, explaining that the money would be returned in 15 days. This had nothing to do with my request. I pointed this out multiple times, but the only response I received was that they had nothing else to add.
Cancelling a reservation at the last minute is already a serious inconvenience. Failing to provide any meaningful assistance, alternative solution, or written confirmation is simply unacceptable.
Very disappointing experience.

If I could give zero i would

If I could give zero i would. I still have had no resolution in regards to conflicting procedures. One procedure is. Not adhered to when they take the booking. So, then told by another person, another policy is they cant change driver. So. When booking, why wasn't it rejected when clearly the credit card was in my name, I can't change to my name. My spouse was going to be the main driver, but had a sudden, urgent operation on his wrist. So I started making enquiries to put me as driver. No one is getting back to me with same answer. The return to emails go to different people all the time, so no way of getting same response. One person says yes, our policy is driver has to be person who pays for car, can you send name and number, i do that, then reply is, sorry our policy is can't change driver. I hire cars for 1 week, 2 weeks, and sometimes even longer while overseas. This has made me realise, that Sixt UK definitely can't be relied upon or be trusted to even follow what they say is there procedures. They have procedures/policies that they twist so they get the benefit. If I cancel, I have a hugh fee taken and probably wait 3 months to get balance of what i already paid in full, months beforehand. However, they will never have my business again. Use someone else, absolutely frustrating and I am still waiting. They twist their conflicting policies to suit their own coffers.

Great service on arrival

Great service on arrival, vehicle already allocated. Straight out to car park and on the road within 2 min of arriving in the rental centre!

How helpful were the desk team

How helpful were the desk team. Couldn’t do enough to help. We had booked with another company at Glasgow Airport but on our late arrival due to our flight we were treated in an unprofessional manner and with the comment they weren’t bothered we had to wait we decided to use SIXT.
Would definitely recommend.

Outstanding experience from start to…

Outstanding experience from start to finish. Booked in online and was informed via the app where the car was. no queue, no desk, Upgraded. Drove to the carpark gate, showed my driving licence to the lovely booth lady, and off I went. I would say from entering the rental car centre to the gate, was less than 10 mins. 5 of which was walking to the car.
On return, the nice friendly guy ( Eric, I think) did a visual, checked the tank and that was us. 10 mins again. Outstanding staff and experience. I rent cars all the time, and have no loyalty except for the best deal, but i think its time to be loyal to Sixt.

The company try’s to rip you of

The company try’s to rip you of ? I went to pick car up for one week ! I was ask would you like to take extra insurance ! No thank you . Then I was told pls do not make a mark on it our I would have to pay 1900 pound ! We’re not like other car rental ? Any mark on car I would have to pay ? Try to rip me off to take insurance ! The car was used very carefully ! Only done 88 miles in full week ! When I went back, I asked the lad in the Cleaning bay and he said no don’t listen to reception if you make a match at a certain size of length five mil you are okay so the reception tried to rip me off and made me panic not to drive this car disgusting of your sixt hope every one reads

Excellent experience!!!!

The best experience ever, we are renting cars for last 7-8 years and this is definitely best experience that we ever received.
Staff was every time so professional, polite and friendly, and the last Mrs. Josipa is the Best of the Best!

Efficient operation

Polite, efficient staff. The car was immaculate and the staff pointed out the few scratches on the bodywork immediately. The offies at Marseille airport were clean and air conditioned and the return was effected in 5 minutes with the invoice and confirmation of the returned deposit immediately sent to my e mail

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the team at SIXT Birmingham City Centre Branch for providing an outstanding rental experience from start to finish.

What impressed me most was that I made my booking only around 20 minutes before closing time. Despite the short notice, the team welcomed me professionally, remained attentive throughout the process, and ensured everything was handled efficiently without making me feel rushed. Their customer service was exceptional and reflected a genuine commitment to helping customers.

The collection process was smooth, straightforward, and well organised. The staff took the time to explain everything clearly, answered any questions I had, and made the entire experience stress-free. The vehicle was presented in excellent condition, clean, well maintained, and exactly what I needed.

In today’s world, excellent customer service can be difficult to find, which is why this experience stood out. The professionalism, efficiency, and positive attitude shown by the team made a lasting impression on me. Even though my booking was made at the last minute, I received the same high standard of service one would expect from a booking arranged well in advance.

It has now been a week since my rental, and I remain extremely satisfied with the experience. The service was so good that I have already decided to return and rent from SIXT Birmingham again in three weeks’ time. That alone reflects the confidence and trust they have earned through their professionalism and customer care.

Thank you to the entire team for going above and beyond. I highly recommend SIXT Birmingham to anyone looking for a reliable, efficient, and customer-focused car rental service. I look forward to renting with you again very soon.

excellent .... i arrived in a totally strange country…

i arrived in a totally strange country , being unable to speak the language but luckily for me all the staff spoke perfect english and were extremely helpful , very polite and sorted me out with my vehicle very quickly . the young lady that took me to my car was very helpful , put the sat nav to english and even set my destination for me . the car was exactly as id ordered , an Audi Q2 in immaculate condition, spotlessly clean and drove well . i was unlucky enough to return it with some scratches on it , i was highly embarrassed but they put me at ease , sorted the paperwork and i was on my way within 20 minutes . the entire experience was 5 star and in future SIXT will always be my first choice , after using a competitor for approximately 40 years , i now know the difference between ok and excellent , thank you to all the staff that dealt with me , you were all wonderful

Change the free mileage range without informing us.

We booked a car to collect from Munich Germany. When we placed the booking it said the free kilometre allowance was 4000km. When we collected the vehicle, the SIXT representative has changed this to 3500km without informing us. We did not notice the change. After returning the vehicle they charged for extra mileage above 3500km. We raised this matter with customer service, and sent them our original contract, but they disagreed and charged our card for the excess mileage based on 3500 km. This mounts to cheating and non-ethical behaviour. We have been using SIXT for all our previous overseas trips. We are wondering whether it is safe to use SIXT in future. Our advice to other clients is not to trust SIXT representatives and check all the terms and conditions at the time of collection and compare the terms with the initial booking. We raised our concern, but Customer service simply did not care.

Had very bad experience with this…

Had very bad experience with this company.
Got the car from Airport Riga for few days.
Gave it back, than that starting to send a bills for "unpaid" car park for which I paid and provided screenshots of payment. They keep sending 60 euro bills for "unpaid"
SCAMMERS !!! I think they have a business to rob the tourists, would not recommend to use this company in Latvia, they are scammers

We had excellent service from Maxim when collecting and dropping off our hire vehicle from SIXT in Limoges France. The vehicle was clean and tidy as you would expect, he assisted with the satnav to ensure our onward journey was correctly located. 100% top service
