Think twice
My wife and I had to cancel a planned trip to Africa unexpectedly due to a severe illness. The bulk of the trip was booked through a different travel agency, and that refund was processed quickly and painlessly. Our flights, which totaled nearly $9,000, unfortunately, were booked through Skylux.
I contacted Skylux right away to explain the situation and ask about a refund or travel credit. I was told flatly that neither was possible. Having traveled extensively, I suspected that wasn't accurate, and when I pushed back, the agent insisted they were right because they were "an expert." So I called the airline directly, and was told travel credits absolutely could be issued.
The airline had canceled, and rescheduled, our flights several times. During my conversation with the airline, I was told that this alone was enough to cancel the flights and request flight credit. I spoke with Skylux about this, as well, and was told that the flight times didn't change enough to impact travel and it wasn't a reason to be issued credit. This is in stark contrast to the qualifications set aside BY THE AIRLINE.
When I relayed this back to Skylux, I was told it was on me to connect the airline with them - even though they're the agency that booked the flights. I asked for a supervisor and was transferred to a different agent instead. This happened at least five times, with each new agent dismissing what I'd already confirmed directly with the airline. They never allowed me to speak with a manager or decision maker.
They then offered to allow me to retroactively puchase travel insurance for $2600. If I bought it, they would refund my money. In my opinion, this reeks of dishonesty. They knew they would be receiving a refund from the airline and chose to extort me for money instead of doing the right thing and helping me solve my problem. I can't imagine why else they would offer this as if they didn't receive money from the airline, they'd still be at a significant loss.
I have received a notification from the airline that Skylux has been issued a refund for our flights. i alerted Skylux about the refund, yet months later, I still don't have my refund/credits. I've traveled a lot and dealt with plenty of travel hiccups, but I've never been treated with this much disregard by an agency that was supposed to be working for me, not against me. I'd think twice before booking through Skylux .

We are extremely frustrated with Skylux
We are extremely frustrated with Skylux and their deceptive practices. We had booked 3 tickets to India but the flight was delayed by over 16 hours so we canceled. By Law, we are required a full refund. Skylux has offered us a voucher while deducting 4 thousand for their fees. Services that were never rendered, as we never went on the flight. We asked for a full refund to our CC and have been ghosted. So, if there is an issue with your ticket good luck with getting them to honestly fix it. We are disputing with our CC as Skylux has not refunded us for the full amount.
