Slide and Fold Reviews 

Our bifolds were fitted in 2017, they are well made and the integral blinds are often commented on by visitors. They look as good now as they did when fitted. The doors were adjusted just before the end of the fitting warranty (2019) and they still work brilliantly. Due to repeated use the draught excluding brushes have now come loose on the main opening door, I called the service helpline expecting to be able to purchase replacement brushes. The customer service I received was outstanding. Adam was super helpful and new brushes are now being sent (free of charge) -all I had to do was email a photo to ensure the right bits were sent. It is rare to find such good customer service-years after the original purchase. MANY thanks!

I cannot recommend this company enough. We bought some large, magnificent aluminium bi-fold doors in 2012 and have been very happy with them since they were installed. The reason for the review 10 years on is that I recently made contact with Slide and Fold for an issue with wear and tear where I was considering replacing 2 of the 4 doors due to a handle being damaged. The door in question gets a lot of heavy handed use and after 10 years has only just started to wear out. Speaking to Adam, he instantly realised our installer (not Slide and Fold) had installed 2 of the 'D handles' the wrong way around causing excess stress to the locking handles of the door in question. 10 years of the locking handles doing something they shouldn't have been and they have only just worn out!! Adam told us how the D handles should have been fitted, which I was easily able to do and also sent us a new handle to replace the broken one making the doors basically as good as new again! 10 years on, and the customer service was second to none! I am so pleased with our doors and the level of service from Slide and Fold. Lots of companies could learn a lesson from these guys!

Excellent set of bifold doors which were great value for money and their customer service couldn’t have been better.
Adam in their service department helped me with an adjustment to the doors several years after I bought them and he was excellent. So helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend and I would definitely buy from them again. Thanks Adam

Professional Staff and Excellent result.

Slide and Fold were recommended from a 3rd party professional installer. Therefore, in early 2020 I ordered bi-fold doors from Slide and Fold, which were then installed by the 3rd party installer.

My dealings with Slide and Fold were around delivery and checking details on the order. This was useful, as we were able to check that everything was correct before doors went into production. Updates on progress were given, including a delay in glass.

The end result was excellent, as we were able to have a smooth install, and the product improved insulation and the build quality is solid.

Due to this experience, in Sep 2020, I then ordered a second bi-fold for another part of the house resulting in a similar experience.

Slide and Fold have been amazing from delivery to after care / service. The doors arrived flat packed ready to assemble, this made delivery easier as we didn’t need machinery or lots of people to help manoeuvre the doors. Since then we had a problem a couple of problems which was quickly dealt with and sorted. I’m especially impressed with the after care / service, I spoke with Adam, he was so helpful and happy to listen and help fix the problem. I have and will continue to tell people my positive experience with Slide and Fold and if I’m in need of more doors, this is the first place I would go!

I placed an order for an "expressed" glazed aluminium door. Order process was easy and the quoted delivery time of 10 working days was perfect.
One month later I'm still waiting for the door and have been advised it's going to be another 2 weeks.

I feel their website is incredibly misleading.

Even the small print of their t&c's quote 3-4 weeks for aluminium products....it seems they can't even stick to that.

DON'T BE FOOLED BY THEIR MISLEADING WEBSITE. THE ONLY THING YOU CAN BELIEVE IS THE PRICE !

We had Slide and Fold produce a glass gable end. Their prices were competitive and the ordering process was smooth with very helpful staff. They were manufactured quickly and delivered. We had some missing components but they were manufactured quickly and delivered within two weeks. Our experience was broadly a positive one.

Initially was happy with the aluminium window we bought. However 3 years on..the mechanism for the window is faulty. 3 screws holding it in place have snapped in half making it a difficult job to fix. Wouldn't buy from them again.

All credit due to this company - great set of bi-fold doors and super customer service. Not only at initial supply but also much later on when, due to normal settlement, some adjustments needed. Their technical service people - I dealt with Adam - can't be faulted. Good patient guidance throughout.

The website was easy to get around and find exactly what I wanted. Customer service were very helpful. The doors came on time in perfect condition and were fitted by my builder. I notice after they had finished there were two hinge covers missing. I contacted Slide and Fold and they sent two replacements free if charge. Really happy with everything.

Placed an order with Slide and Fold on 28th July, the reason for going with them was due to the 2-3 week delivery time. Part of the order arrived on 25th August, with poor quality rubber window seals which are not fit for use with the frames, in fact they needed to be damaged to be installed properly. The remaining part of the order was not and has not been fulfilled.

Communication has been underwhelming, the same generic responses have been received several times. I have not been kept updated throughout, so have had to chase Slide and Fold for updates on the delivery times, which have been constantly changed.

an entire job has now been held up due to the incompetence of Slide and Fold. a 2-3 week delivery time is now turning into 2 months!

I ordered aluminium frames which are (or, should I say, have the potential to be) reasonable quality and have decent instructions (apart from the fact they totally neglected to say you will need to Toe and Heel the opening sashes or they will drop and be useless). That is not really my complaint though. What is totally ridiculous is that the DGUs have gaffer tape over the edge seal. This is total madness. What it means is a) because it is so haphazardly applied, you will see gaffer tape and/or unsightly white marks next to your seals (and it is nearly impossible to remove, they have used very, very strong tape); and b) the wedge seals are often impossible to fit because the gaffer tape peels back and gets in the way. The only way to resolve this is to remove the unit and try and scrape off the offending tape or trim the wedge seal along its length which is time consuming and reduces its sealing capability. Another issue concerns the security clips that hold the units in place. Firstly, two frames had one clip missing meaning the units held in place by just 3 clips. Secondly, several of the units had the clips fitted in the wrong place which fouled the beads, meaning the bead seals had to be adapted to get them to clip in place. Also, several of the frames came with handles that had machine screws that were far too long, meaning the handles could not be attached without rattling. If you drive them all the way in you will damage the mechanism. Another complaint concerns the vents - the frame to allow the vent to be fitted is approximately twice as wide as an unvented frame, which is very unsightly and unnecessary. The slot for the vent is nicely milled out of the extrusion but then they haven't bothered to pre-drill the extrusion to allow the vent to be fitted easily. Lastly, the opening sashes have different seals to the fixed ones and they are practically impossible to seat correctly - the groove in the aluminium extrusion that forms the bead is too small. These silly quality problems have let this company down as far as I'm concerned. The other issue with the company is its website - I was ordering numerous windows, entering dimensions etc, then it was timing out and emptying my basket -it literally took hours of faffing to successfully complete the purchase.

We’ve had our 5 panel bifold doors for a few years. The frame it’s self works fine, but the glass has let us down three times now. The first two were replaced by slide and fold, but they won’t now replace or repair a third panel. So this one is fogged up. So I’m just saying I’d think twice before buying from slide and fold.

Aluminium windows in white were delivered on time, i.e. within the 5 to week time frame but we did have to apply some pressure at about week 4. The windows are, however, of very good quality and look great on the house. The windows were about half the price quoted on another site so I was very pleased re. value for money. Thanks

We ordered a large set of aluminum bifold doors. It felt like a gamble after reading some of the reviews here, but the price was so competitive that we decided to go for it. The doors arrived on time, as expected without any issues. Unfortunately when fitting them, our builder accidentally smashed a pane of glass. Slide and Fold were very accommodating in ordering a replacement pane and getting it to us in a couple of week. No mean feat in the current climate and the fact that we had built in blinds. Happy with the product, happy with the customer service. If you read up in advance and know what to expect then Slide and Fold can't be beaten.

We purchased 2 sets of sliding doors last year and installed them ourselves. During the winter we noticed that one had door had blown and one lock had become sticky, but only got around to reporting it to Slide and Fold a few weeks ago. They sent a replacement sealed unit followed by a fitter without any fuss. The fitter Dan was polite and conscientious and took extra time to find out what was wrong with the lock. We were pleasantly surprised by the service from what is after all a very competitively priced product.

Purchased a set of bifold doors over 9weeks ago. The ordering was simple, and the extended delivery time was accepted in the current climate. The doors arrived and were in flat-pack condition (box of nuts and bolts, bare frame etc not what I was expecting). No instruction manual was provided with the units, so installation was a guessing game. I had these doors installed by a local professional fitter and he was appalled with what was issued, a scratched pain of glass, missing handles, hinges that were out of alignment, missing installation manual etc. The rubbers for the bead are too large and do not fit the gap between the window bead and the glass. I emailed the company over a week ago and the customer service team have not even acknowledged my email. I am left with a door unit I am unable to operate as the handles are missing, the glass is unable to be secured within the door frame as the rubbers do not fit (too large). I have called the office numerous times only to be advised that someone will call me back, guess what, surprise surprise, no one ever does.

The product seems to be ok but the attitude of the company toward customers after they have received payment is poor. I have paid almost £4k for these doors and I am disappointed with the service received. All I wanted was someone to call me and discuss my issues, is that too much to ask?

I would not recommend this company to purchase from.

Great until something goes wrong - Ordered a large double sliding door. All good. Doors get delivered and one pane of glass is totally the wrong size for the frame and there is damage to a frame due to poor packaging. Doors were due to be fit 4 days after the delivery. Told glass was placed on order. Rang the following week to chase as the fitter can only come on the stated day to be told glass has not arrived and we cannot state a delivery date. No apologies or sense of urgency. Asked to speak with service manager. Will ring me back. No call back twice. Damage I was told I can touch up with a paint stick/pen - Not good enough. Very very poor customer service and replies from this company. I would shop elsewhere. complaint to trading standards and MD as now their incompetence is costing me money.

The doors were delivered on time and are fine but the handle supplied had incorrect fitting. After chasing the company twice, they sent out a replacement which also did not fit then ignored further requests for the right part. What's the use of the door without a handle?!
