In 1953, SW Hart and Co., a pioneering plumbing company based in Perth, decided that the sun was the best energy source to heat water in Western Australian homes. As a result, solar hot water in Australia was born and Solahart geared up for expansion.
Since then we’ve built a reputation as a world leader in solar innovation and technology and invested millions of dollars into R&D and manufacturing. We’ve also installed over one million systems in over 70 countries around the world. We’re at Everest Base Camp and Antarctica. Even Nelson Mandela’s South African home had a Solahart system installed on the roof.
Today, after more than 65 years as Australia’s solar energy experts, we’re set to turn our brilliant past into an even brighter future.

I had the Solahart Technician Liam attend my property to replace parts under warranty to stop a water hammer issue that had only occurred since having the brand new system installed.
After replacing those parts, he then replaced another part which eventually fixed the issue. I was then told after installing this part; that this was not covered under warranty and I would have to pay for this part, but was advised the labour would be covered under warranty.
I then proceeded to pay for the part. The following week I received another invoice for the labour of installing that additional part which took all of an extra 3mins because that part wasn't under warranty.
When I rang the office, I was told that the Solahart technician Mick (Liam's boss) was insisting the additional labour charge be paid for the extra 3mins Liam was there installing the non-warranty part.
I explained to Suzanne (at the office) what transpired when Liam attended; including Mick being abrasive on the phone to me about the water hammer not being their fault, even though as the customer you would naturally want to rectify an issue that only occurred AFTER they attended.
Suzanne was great and said she would speak with Mick and get back to me. A week later Mick calls me insisting on the extra labour charge for the additional 3mins work undertaken by Liam. He also advised me that he was doing me a favour by charging me the extra $150, instead of $200 for the additional 3mins work.
In summary, I was left feeling utterly disappointed by Mick's poor conduct and customer service.

We started the process of buying a system in November last year because Solarhart is a major company. We realised there was a huge demand for installation and waited until April to have this done. So far we have had full batteries which do not rundown hence no use of power from them and now we have to wait until June 22 to have that investigated. Is this an installation record? On the plus side staff have always been helpful and tried several times to fix the problem but we just want the system to work efficiently.

Paul came to our house and was professional, Friendly and explained all the ins and outs of having a Solar Battery which made our decision to go ahead and get a solar battery installed . The Installers were Professional and friendly also answered all my Questions , set up my mobile phone etc. Battery setup looked spot on and clean once Finished.
Did a fantastic job , ensured me if there were any issues to give Solarhart a call .

Very professional. They answered all my questions and did everything they promised when they said they'd do it. They are competively priced. I'm very happy with the end result and the whole process was painless. Thank you.

If you receive an offer for a battery installation from Solahart, I suggest that you "run a mile" and explore any other company in Australia. It is now almost three months since Solahart installed a Goodwe battery and inverter which was supposed to work with my solar system ( also installed by Solahart about 4 years ago) to reduce my power consumption from the grid. Despite providing assurances that the battery and inverter recommended by the company representative would reduce consumption, there has been almost no discernible reduction in my power bill since installation. Having informed the company of this problem, I expected that there would have been some effort made to rectify it. Apart from a single return visit by the installer who was made aware of the issue, and clearly shown my daily power consumption, there has been no other response. This lack of customer service has forced me to have the battery installation assessed (at my own expense) by an independent company. That investigation revealed that the system installed included a single phase inverter which was not appropriate for my three phase power supply and this has meant that many of my appliances remain unconnected to the battery. This was despite the original contract clearly stating that the three phase supply existed and that at least 5 back up power circuits would be included in the work. Only three back up circuits have been connected. I have provided the independent report to Solahart and have been met with a deafening silence. I have now referred the matter to the NSW Department of Fair Trading and am writing to the federal government department administering the battery subsidy scheme to inform it of the shortcomings of this company. In effect, it is receiving a battery subsidy at tax payer's expense but not providing a product that is adequate to do its job, and therefore having minimal impact on the reducing power consumption from grid. It's refusal to follow up on these matters shows a total disregard for its customers and a degree of arrogance towards the government subsidy program that I find appalling.
