Customer Service as it ought to be

In December I had my eyeys tested. Unusually my prescriotion had reduced, but my glasses were allout of date. I opted to have the lenses replaced in the existing frames, as a couple of frames had been quiote expensive and i still liked them. The prescription sunglasses were polarising, and anti glare - so not cheap. On second wearing of one pair, Oakley aviators, the lens fell out, and it was damged when it hit the ground. Theyt agreed to replace this free of charge, no quibbles.

I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience at Specsavers.

I was told I needed an appointment because my prescription is from abroad, but my glasses still had to be checked anyway, which felt inconsistent and confusing.

During the visit, when I expressed frustration, a staff member was rude and told me to leave the shop and that I did not need to pay for the appointment. I felt dismissed rather than listened to or helped.

Overall, the experience felt unprofessional and left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome as a customer.

Time for new specs

Easy to get an appointment and both visits went very smoothly. Very professional attention from those who looked after me, inc. Sajjad, Summer, Hamzah & Kleviana during the check up and Amber when collecting my new prescription. The back of the eye inspection was very reassuring. No issues with the new spectacles.

Absolutely faultless

Right from walking through the door the staff were friendly and efficient. The optician that I saw was called Caroline. A charming girl with excellent customer service and a polite and friendly manner. Really couldn't fault either her or any of her colleagues.

I lost my glasses and they squeezed me…

I lost my glasses and they squeezed me in the next day. Everything about my visit was wonderful. Lisa took care of me first for the pretest. The eye doctor Celine was so nice. Varun was the last person to finish ordering the new glasses. Edith was there also who helped me on my previous. She was also very nice to deal with. The fact that they helped so efficiently to replace my lost glasses was amazing. After all that I did find my glasses the next day. Unfortunately I needed to cancel the order but the service was excellent.

Excellent Experience at Specsavers Openshaw

I’ve just had another brilliant experience at the Specsavers Openshaw branch. I always head there whenever I need my eyes checking, and they never fail to deliver.
The service was absolutely first-class from start to finish. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel welcome the moment you walk through the door. One thing I really appreciate is how efficient they are, it was a quick appointment with no undue waiting around, which is a rare find these days!
My new glasses will be ready and supplied in around two weeks. If you’re looking for a reliable team that values your time, I can’t recommend this branch enough.

High quality customer experience and good products for a good price

I first used them about 18 months ago to get a hearing aid as their prices were quite reasonable, compared to dedicated audiologists and the products a lot better than “free” hearing aid from the NHS. That was a good experience. Check up and adjustments have been free since.

Recently I used them again for new glasses and it was equally as good. Easy to book an appointment, very limited waiting time and friendly staff. I ended up with 3 pairs of glasses (generic reading & driving and “branded” driving sunglasses) for under £300. I’ve usually paid a lot more than that for just one pair in the past, and they threw in some lens upgrades for free (anti-glare etc).

Someone is clearly doing a good job at management level with keeping high standards across their branches as I’ve used two (Swindon and Marlborough). The shops are well presented, staff very friendly and their prices are very good.

They have also clearly invested in good technology as many of the engagements are pretty “frictionless” from a customer perspective. They know who you are, why you’re there, your history and something like updating my hearing aid profile only took about 1 minute.
