Fast shipping great service and great product

What's happened to this company? My grandfather and parents regularly ordered from Gary Owens "Sportsman's Guide" paper catalog when I was a child. I didn't bother to read reviews BEFORE buying a trial membership because I thought they were a good, old company. They won't allow you to use your PAID membership if you do not have that auto-renew-box checked. You may save a couple bucks with membership BUT pay various fees, insurance and 'fuel surcharges'. They email you declaring, 'great sales' BUT jack 'original' prices up and the 'sale prices' offered are actually regular, every day prices. Their targeted ads follow you EVERYWHERE, you go online. After waiting for 4 'delivery dates' our last package actually arrived. I'll thoroughly read online reviews first for all companies from now on.

I received my order of 3 gun scabbard’s and 500 rounds of ammo fairly quick and in good shape.
Was lucky as far as the shape of the items though as the large box had a 3 to 4 foot tear in it. Luckily all items were still in it and not damaged as they could have easily been removed through the large tear.
It appeared it was shipping damage and could have easily been repaired w/ some tape by the shipper who was FedEx.
I hope Sportsman’s Guide will have a long talk w/ FedEx. This is the second time I’ve received an item delivered by FedEx w/ this item being damaged. It was from a different vendor.
I would not use FedEx if I had anything to ship!!

I ordered a pack of underwear. It is two months later and a couple hours of my time, plus gas and an international call to hopefully finally have them out of my life. They took it upon themselves to include a watch in my original purchase that I didn't order, and then a buyer's club membership I never asked for. This company is criminal. Period. Don't ignore the unanimous reviews. If someone ends up suing, I will support you fully.

The company charges a handle fee, protect fee,fuel charge fee,shipping tax and shipping and handling fee. Bought one item less then twenty bucks end up costing me nearly fifty bucks with all the fees

I haven't ordered anything from Sportsman's Guide recently but, in the past (15 years ago) I had no problem with them. I still have the wool cold weather gear and make good use of it every winter.

I ordered some cold weather hunting gear from them. When it arrived, it was all mis-sized it was much too large. I sent it back and they issued credit promptly and without incident. I reordered another brand from them and paid them $10. for a 90 day trial membership in their "buyers club". The order arrived and everything fit properly and the quality was great.

In the meantime, I not only began receiving emails from them which was fine but I also began getting ppop-ups on everything I did online from reading newspapers to even general shopping. It is quite annoying. Then, when the 90 trial membership was about to expire, I received an email from the Credit Card Company saying they paid Sportsmans Guide $49.99. I immediately informed them that this charge was unauthorized by me. They opened a complaint file and gave me a telephone number in which to contact Sportsmans Guide. When I called I got a male voice who knew all about the problem and would not even let me explain it to him. I couldn't get a word in with this guy. He finally said I would get a credit which they issued. I gave them a credit card and they misused it by doing an unauthorized charge without any notice to me. These are dishonest people and I won't be doing business with them in the future.

Guide Gear Lifetime warranty is a JOKE!! they do not honor it!!
Without the original receipt sent in the box, they won't honor it.
E-mail receipt and shipping confirmation receipt not good enough?????

This outfit is a total scam. I was just charged a 49.00 membership fee that was supposed to be canceled. Have only order 1 item ever from this outfit and was disappointed in it.

Sportsman's guides shipping is ridicules. It takes any savings you MIGHT have had away and then they try to add .99 for shipping ins. REALLY??? Oh wait, if you agree to give them $49 you get "free" shipping; (except for the .99 they still try to take to make sure your package gets to you.)
If it doesn't come they have to replace or just go through your CC for a refund on the things that don't make it to your door.
AND THEY AUTO RENEW YOUR BLACKMAILED MEMBERSHIP(YOU WILL PAY US HERE OR THERE; REGARDLESS, WE ARE TAKING YOUR MONEY!!(vs asking) SO THEY WILL GET YOU ON THE BACK SIDE TOO WHEN YOU FORGET TO CANCEL!!
They ALSO AUTOMATICALLY GIVE THEMSELVES ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER AND ANY WEBSITES YOU MAY HAVE OPEN IN YOUR BROWSER. (website DID NOT ASK FOR PERMISSION it just did it!! this is what pissed me off the most; on the other I had a choice)
This company is shysters in every way!! I will not use again!!

Ordered a two pack of surplus work gloves. Received 3 right hands and 1 left hand. Contacted for replacement. They only do return/refunds then I could reorder. Plus ordered a couple hats that said one size fits most...most children I guess. Size was clearly marked as "M" inside. They only partially refunded the order due to the value of the items vs shipping it back to them. I wrote a couple reviews for the items on their site that posted for a day then mysteriously disappeared. They lost a customer.

Total scam of a company, ordered a jacket and after they took my payment was told that jacket was no longer available. Still haven’t received my credit and can’t get in touch with anyone.

I ordered quite a few items from the site totalling several hundred dollars but, had 3 packs of wool sweaters back ordered. I was generally satisfied with what I received but, nearly a month after receiving all of my other merchandise I was sent 4 two packs instead of 4 three packs. When I called I was told I could ship them all back at my expense for a refund or accept the new 8 for the price of 12 arrangement. I had another $400 in my cart when customer service proved to be trash. Needless to say I'm not making that order.

Ordered a pair of boots, the day before they were to be delivered the boots hadn't shipped, I messaged them through Amazon asking when they were going to be delivered. They canceled my order and then proceeded to take the money out of my account after the order had been canceled! That's a scam if I've ever seen one. They are 1 star rated all over the internet for a good reason, don't buy anything from these scammers

Buyer beware! This company provides bogus delivery dates. And will mark items as non-returnable in fine print that isn’t visible until after you order. I bought a two-man Deerstand that was needed by a certain date and the shipment should have worked. They changed the delivery date twice. I had to go get a deer stand at a brick and mortar or else I would’ve been screwed. When I wrote in a complaint, they sent me an email saying it was out for delivery, but then I checked with FedEx and confirmed that the delivery date was still the second and further out delayed date. This is a very sketchy company with sketchy practices. It’s a shame that companies do not have honorable practices because then we are forced to support places like Amazon, because we know that we will not be powerless. I will never buy from this company again, and I urge you to think twice before buying from them yourself. Don’t go by the reviews on their own website because they can filter those. Trust the reviews on independent review sites like here and Google, which are much much lower as you can see.

Worst customer service ever. I hadn’t received my item after placing my order 3 weeks prior. The tracking information provided showed where it was last scanned but hadn’t moved for 2 weeks. When I called to have them send me a replacement item the customer service representative told me it was on its way and hung up on me. I had to file a claim with my credit card company before they would send a replacement item. Never purchasing anything from that lousy company again.

Been a member since 2005 and bought way before that. Lost a scope in a train crash years ago you finally made right.
Waited for sezzle to send a code three times now haven't sent the first code yet.
I don't really save a lot of money shopping with this store but it's convenient. I'm going to buy my fishing reel some place else and I don't care if it costs me a buck fifty more.

Placed an order Tuesday, order was at my door Thursday morning. Everything was there. Few small issues. One was that someone packed ammo along side small items and they were smashed. Two was that whomever sizes the surplus needs to take into consideration shrinkage as three hats did not fit me. Had no issue returning the hats and smashed stuff for a refund though.
I do not see where others are having such issues, but I am glad not to have experienced them in my last three years in ordering from them.
Last time I ordered I spent over $2000 with nearly $1000 worth of MRE's, the day after they arrived the price on each box dropped by $10. I called and they refunded me the difference. They have taken care of me is all I can say.

They may be fine for cheap stuff but I would NOT buy anything expensive from these people. I purchased a $2500 ten-point crossbow. SHot it 20 times and it would not group no matter what. Then the string broke. LESS THAN 20 SHOTS! TWENTY-FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!!! And they say it's a warranty issue and I can't return it. Not to mention a $5,000 hunting trip next week and there's no way I can get this fixed in time. I think the right thing to do would be a refund or exchange and YOU Sportsman's Guide can deal with Ten Point. You know there's doing what you HAVE to do and then there's Doing the right thing! You will not get any more of my hard-earned money and I hope someone will see this and buy their expensive somewhere that cares about their customers.

sportsman's gouge. i am still wondering why i tried them again. moth to an enticing flame with amnesia of the last misadventure i'd had with them. it took forever to get the detailed invoice will all charges itemized; after you order is is not online, but a paper copt is in the box. inspect your online order carefully should you, in a weak moment be tempted to do biz with these pirates. there were two line items that made no sense: a california shipping tax and a fuel surcharge. california has no such tax and i called the the shipper, fedex and they had no fuel sucharges. and unless you uncheck the box, they will charge a buck for shipping insurance. against what? their own incompetence? sheesh. they are liars, cheats and fraudsters!! do not support them!!!! stay away!!!!!
