Do not use Made to Measure. While the in-store team were great, the Melbourne-based "customer care crew" were a nightmare. 90 minutes of calls, hung up on twice, put on hold for 15 and 30 minutes at... See more

Thanking a staff member
My name is Lena , i am writing this review specifically for the staff member at sylvia park store this morning , who helped and carried my shopping to the car , I don't know how to thank her , thank you itself is not enough .
I did not get her name but she knows mine , she is tall with long blonde hair , was standing at the cashier and wearing a mask .
Her kindness was over and above everything . I am so grateful for the help and assistance she offered me
She is gem and an asset to the company .
I recently had a disappointing…Disappointed with Customer Service at Spotlight Trinity Gardens”
I recently had a disappointing experience at Spotlight, Trinity Gardens. I purchased two curtains and some accessories, but after returning home, I realised the cashier had only scanned one curtain, so I was charged for just one.
The next day, after finishing work, I went back to the store to let them know and asked them to check my receipt. The cashier called the manager, who asked me to pay for the second curtain — which I was happy to do. However, I was surprised to be charged $3 more than the previous day’s price. When I politely asked why, the manager responded rather rudely, saying, “That was yesterday’s price; this is today’s price.”
I was quite disappointed by the lack of courtesy and appreciation for my honesty in returning to pay for an item missed due to their mistake. There was no apology, and the whole interaction felt disrespectful. I took time out of my busy day to do the right thing, but unfortunately, I left feeling upset and unappreciated.
I hope the store can handle such situations with more kindness and professionalism in the future.
Customer service was horrific
Customer service was horrific. Wouldn’t accept a return that was clearly faulty and said as it was 28 days past purchase. Ridiculous
Birthday balloons
Got helium balloons for my daughter’s birthday, purchased in the afternoon the day before her party. Was told the balloons would last for at least a week, sometimes up to a month. One of the balloons popped on the way out to the car, so needed to go back in to purchase a new one. The next morning I found all the remaining balloons completely flat. Very disappointing as I didn’t get time to get new ones in time for the party. Went back to get a refund the next day and didn’t even get half of the money spent money. Very disappointed in the service provided, will not be coming back.
Online buying from Spotlight is a nightmare and they will not publish the review.
Below is a review posted about the online purchase of a clothing rack, they "moderated" it and would not publish online, so here it is.
The product is ok, the spotlight website is terrible to purchase on, and the delivery was poorly handled by NZ post. On the website if the address does not auto populate you cannot manually over type, yes typing in the correct address it did not auto populate. So infuriating, only succeeded in the end by refreshing the page and hoping it did not lose the order. Then NZ post failed to deliver and the call centre was next to useless to arrange re delivery - would not order online again, only shop instore. Website is a shambles. All contact info is "no reply" email addresses. Also the tracking link they send requires certain tracking numbers which do not correlate with the NZ post tracking, not usable.
Appalling website and faulty in-store systems…
They have convoluted click and collect and return policies. Their website constantly has glitches. It shows products on their store computers and when you arrive they don’t have the product and yesterday I bought something online and clicked the click and collect option and when I went to pick my 3 things up they only had 1. Turns out their computer had automatically added $12 delivery fee for the other 2 items as they weren’t available in store. I needed them today!

Just visites the Horsham store & left as no customer service at furnishings, asked Taryn at sew for someone to serve us in furnishings, she said Leanne should be there she called her but no one turned up. Overall very rude & no customer service. Messy & untidy as well.

Do not give them your mobile number to get a discount - I am plagued by spam texts from them that can’t be blocked!
Very dirty and dusty stores in my 20+…
Very dirty and dusty stores in my 20+ years of visiting Spotlight Australia and the service is usually substandard and sometimes the staff are quite rude.
Ribbons Rolls are often OOS and that can be tricky when they have a Sale on where you need to buy 3 rolls.
Staff suggest to purchase Online, why should I pay postage and have to buy colours unseen?
The stores need to up their game. :(
Fabric is often cut short or terribly crooked and $5 click and collect vouchers were not given or offered for later at Warrnambool store.
The have ordered curtains nearly 4 months ago and we still don't have them installed
Curtains install.
We had a quote for our curtains in middle of May. Whole Quotation experience was very good, as Mark has given us options to choose the fabrics and and told us it would take 4-6 weeks max to have it installed.
Spotlights company wanted money soon, but unfortunately they still haven't given us curtains. We have been waiting 4 months and I have been calling them on weekly basis. After 4 months they told me, that the curtains have finally came, but we have to wait another 2 weeks to have it install it.
I am very disappointed as we had to pay money long ago and still haven't seen any curtains.
When I call the customer service, they hung up or don't help me at all. I did call also the manager, and she didn't help me either.
Not very professional
I would not go with Spotlight at all if I know it would take that long
The goods on offer at spotlight is nice…
The goods on offer at spotlight is nice for a one-stop option with so many random bits and pieces. I avoid the Manukau branch at all costs though, the staff are straight up rude, either ignoring you if you try to approach them, or showing very obvious annoyance at your presence. This has been my experience multiple times trying to buy from the store. Go to any other spotlight store unless you 100% know what you're looking for and where to find it and how much it costs.
I am extremExtremely Disappointed – Misleading Shipping Promise & Delayed Deliveryely disappointed with your…
I am extremely disappointed with your service and feel completely misled by your false delivery promises.
Your website clearly states that orders will be delivered in 2–5 business days, and I was charged extra based on this commitment. However, my order was not even shipped until after 5 business days, and now I am being told the expected delivery will take 10 days or more.
If this isn’t false advertising or fraudulent behavior, what is it?
You took my money with the promise of fast delivery — a promise you clearly had no intention of keeping. This kind of dishonest business practice is unacceptable and shows a complete lack of respect for your customers.
I will not be ordering from you again, and I will be sharing this experience with others so they don’t fall for the same trap.
Stop making promises you can’t keep.
Rude Workers
I came across this super rude and arrogant worker, and she was arguing with me for no apparent reason!? I didn't do anything wrong, and she was telling me off for asking a question at the desk. Mind you, there was only ONE worker around, and they were at the desk. How are you going to tell me off for asking a question to the ONLY worker available? She wouldn't even tell me her name and just walked away, she had brown hair, up in a ponytail, and she looked at least in her mid-30s. Spotlight is so overpriced and for what!? They say they focus on customer service but guess what? THEY DON'T. They don't even want to help their own customers, and it shows. Don't shop at Spotlight, and I'm sick of spending tons of my money on overpriced items while being treated like I'm not even welcome.

I dropped into Tauranga Spotlight store…
I dropped into Tauranga Spotlight store this week to allow my grand daughter ( 4 years old) to choose some fabric to sew her a nighty.
?Tiana ( a new face to me at Tauranga Spotlight) was so friendly, helpful ( I had forgotten to take the pattern with me) and especially friendly to Lily. Even asked her if she would like to carry her fabric out of the store.
I haven't always found the ladies at the fabric counter to be friendly and keen to help, they often seem overloaded with customers ( not their fault)
and not enjoying their work day.
So well done Tiana, you were a' breath of fresh air' and certainly made Lily's visit to Spotlight a great one!
You are obviously enjoying your job, keep up the great work!
Regards
Liz Mason
Weak weak weak
In store: Excellent friendly customer service.
Call centre: Absolute shite. Can not transfer stock between stores, and cannot call directly to an individual store. Not available to order online. Staff solution was to use click & collect, then fly from Auckland to Christchurch to pick up the product. Alternatively - continue to visit my local store to see if stock has arrived. Seriously?

A shout out to Jess from the Taylor’s Beach, Port Stephens store who was absolutely brilliant, she looked at me and must have seen the look of a deer in headlights and helped me pick out pillows and mattress protectors and I also got the best deals going at the time so thank u to Jess and Sandy at checkout for a great experience.
I purchased a Brother sewing machine on…
I purchased a Brother sewing machine on Saturday 12th July. I went to Wairau Road Store. I walked straight into a very helpful knowledgeable floor person who walked with purpose and ready to be of assisistence. I was lead to the exact machine. I learnt so much more about the machine due to her extremely informative knowledge . I was going to purchase online, but wanted a human experience where I am able to gain from understanding operation , purchasing etc. It was the best assistance I have had in years. I left happy with purchase.
The women’s name who deserves a pay rise was named Suzy C. Thank you.
I have just sent this to Spotlight…
I have just sent this to Spotlight asking for an answer.
I went in the last week to buy a couple of Platinum 40 x 50 cm black picture frames. I have bought a number of these on the past because I like their simple thin frame and their reasonable price especially with the discount. The Spotlight catalogue ending 15 July 2025 showed the price with 30% of all frames. I collected two and price checked them and they came up as usual price $79 VIP price $49 i.e 30% off. I know the normal price is usually around the $50 mark and the largest Platinum frame was marked at $65 on the shelf. I asked at the counter why the normal price of the 40 x50 frame was showing at $79 when the largest frame was $65 and why had the price risen so much. A very unsatisfactory ‘I don’t really know and it was probably because it was the most popular size’. From this I gather that all frames that are 40x50 will now be extortionately expensive compared to the other sizes and it will follow on to sheets and towels etc. I will alsoaddthatthis sizeframe was separated from the other Platinum frames online which I think is a pretty tricky thing for you to do. I would like an answer to why the huge price rise which is now also showing in your ‘7 day special’ on these frames and why you think that your customers are stupid enough to fall for this type of thing. I didn’t’t buy the frames and I probably won’t again because of the price. Another customer bites the dust.
Unhappy poor service…
Curtains don’t fit dealing with people who won’t return calls or fix our curtains as measurement is all wrong 2 weeks still no reply very unhappy will not be using them again
