Stansted security check absolutely…
Stansted security check absolutely dreadful!
Sunday 26th April @7:30pm it took over an hour and half to get through the security check.
We queued over an hour to get from the boarding pass check in to the security lines with only 4 lines operating out of the 10(or so?) lines available.
Moving through the checking line, I counted 4 out of 6 cabin bags having to be rescanned, including my own. When I told the security operator what the problem was (I mistakenly left a yogurt carton in my bag) he rudely replied he’d have to rescan the bag again anyway.
When I started to repack my bag, left in a mess after being checked, another attendant also rudely told me to move because he was collecting the trays.
It took at least 20min to clear the line, over an hour and an half to get through security. When I asked a supervisory there were no more lines open, he dismissively said I should allow 3 hours. I actually had, I was at the airport @7pm for a 10pm flight.
Apart from rudeness, it looked like the security staff were “working to rule” and being as awkward as possible. Dreadful!
What's that bad smell...it's Stansted Airport!
Been through this airport twice this year, and it's not a great experience.
The staff are unfriendly, the toilets are in desperate need of renovation as they're disgusting.
The whole experience was p**s poor.
Worst “London” Airport - Do Not Fly From Here
Worst “London” Airport. Only airport I’ve flown from that manages to make every step of the process stressful. Had to pay for fast track security half way through queuing for security to get through and make our flight on time. It took 1 1/2 hours to get half way through.
Staff were rude and unhelpful when asked questions.
Had to then queue to get from the area after security through to the gates themselves because the design of the airport is so bad.
Got to the gate and the flight was delayed. Spoke to somebody else in the queue, they said flights from Stansted are frequently delayed.
Seems like poor organisation from top to bottom. Wasn’t even flying peak and they couldn’t handle the numbers.
Monetise everything as well. So to get through the airport costs you an extortionate amount on top of the price of the flight.
Will always book to fly elsewhere if it’s at all possible.
Nearly a 2 hour wait for security
Nearly a 2 hour wait for security, hundreds of people stressed about missing flights, no urgency from staff, instead just told everyone if the miss their flight that’s not their problem. Incredibly poor experience.
Welcome to the Stone Age…
The ONLY Airport in my vast experience of travel (expat) which trashes my contact lenses storage liquid which is more than 100ml, stating it must be prescription based. NO CL liquid is that! They are 100% clueless.
ALL OTHER AIRPORTS just scan it in a machine and it’s OK.
Welcome to the Stone Age, Stanstead!
filthy toilets filthy on idside and…outside
filthy toilets filthy ontside and inside. mice running in waiting area fallining over bodies lying sleeping like down and outs as there is not adequete seating ....disgraceful..just avoid if possible
Worst airport i have ever been too
Worst airport i have ever been too, no organisation from the staff, arrived 1 hour before gate closure and there was no urgency to fast track me and my partner from the staff as most airports in the world do to try and help you out. Now having to buy new tickets which is not convenient but something needs to change because i will never travel through this airport and i hope others are aware you should be here 10 hours before your flight to avoid any disappointment. The ryanair staff were helpful but the airport staff are very poor
Nearly 2 years after the government set…
Nearly 2 years after the government set deadline... This pp excuse for an airport still has 100ml max liquids. The 4th busiest airport in the UK has the stench of Ineptitude...meanwhile Manchester and Edinburgh have managed it. Piss poor managemnet at Stansted
Parking Rip Off
Just dropped off my daughter for an early flight. Price for stay of 1 minute now increased £10. A total rip off - just greed - nothing to do with congestion
ePassport Employee was shockingly rude!
Nice airport, but, the person you had manning the ePassport area needs to learn some Customer Service skills. The man was extremely rude and condescending to a lot of passengers last night. To have a person with that kind of attitude in a front line position like that is wrong. I'm surprised that nobody retaliated. His attitude was shocking.
Pick up at arrivals Stansted
I was charged £25 for 15 minutes in arrivals pickup ,absolute disgrace you managers at Stansted airport should be very ashamed
Stansted Security
Security antipatica e senza una minima sensibilità verso la persona non madrelingua. Che vergogna persone trattate come bestiame!
How?
The 100 metres of road for drop off should be paved with gold. Simply an abuse of power for gain.
Dark pattern parking
Just went to pay for drop off parking (2days ago) and the payment window is only 1 day. If you’re going to remove the physical ability to pay then you should allow people a reasonable amount of time to pay. Can I contact anyone to pay - of course not. Parking fine coming my way. People working here should be embarrassed by this dark pattern used to maximise revenue. Their trust pilot score speaks for itself.
Legalised robbery
Absolutely disgraceful, the removal of drop off payment at the barrier on existing has clearly increased their revenue enormously. Users are no longer given the option to pay at the time, this is clearly an excuse to issue extortionate fines for late payment. So instead of the normal substantial fee for a few minutes the late payment fine is £100, how is this permissible, it is absolutely daylight robbery.
DISGUSTING
DISGUSTING. there is holes everywhere. Dirt all over the floor. It was over crowded. At security it was over full of people, no space to move. Bad organisation.
Absolutely appalling experience at…
Absolutely appalling experience at Stansted Airport.
My perfume was confiscated without any clear explanation, and the situation was handled in a completely unprofessional manner. The staff member who took it was incredibly rude, dismissive, and had a condescending attitude from the start. Instead of properly explaining why my item was being taken, they barely said anything and made no effort to help or clarify the situation.
To make matters worse, when I later tried to retrieve my own property in person, I was told I would have to pay £15 just to get it back — which is outrageous considering it was taken from me in the first place. There was no clear guidance on how to recover it, no proper communication, just being brushed off and sent away like it didn’t matter.
This is completely unacceptable behavior from airport staff. Passengers deserve respect, clear information, and fair treatment — none of which were provided here.
Very disappointed and frustrated with how this was handled.
One of the worst scams places to be or to…
One of the worst places to be or to drop off someone is this airport or must airport in the UK they all the same which looks like run by mobs or mafia, £10 just to drive through shocking prices. And if you forget to pay in the 24 hour window the driver through be comes £70. This is modern time robbery.
Great to fly into as adults but…
Great to fly into as adults but terrible with children, always the longest line at immigration and it’s never any different. Kids always tired and upset waiting for ages!!
Queues through security
The queues to get through security on the 21st March were huge. Some passengers were very stressed and upset as they were going to miss their flights. The customer service agents said the airport was 'very busy' (really?) and there was nothing they could do. The process just didnt work. An initial queue to scan your boarding pass and then a huge crowd of passengers creating a massive bottleneck to get into line for security. It was very badly organised. Took well over an hour of queuing to get through resulting in a very stressful start to a journey. My gate was a very long walk ... fortunately I made it but im sure many others didnt .... and through no fault of their own.
