potpourri of leftovers
I have contacted Stone Tile Market by email on 29/01 regarding some issues I had with my order. After a couple of weeks and no response from them, I decided to post my email on Reviews.co.uk. Then, I got a reply from the company to my review. I then sent additional info to them on the back of their reply directly to their email and again no response. So I decided to post another review on TrustPilot to see if they receive my latest email... Unfortunately, the experience was not good with this company or their tiles, specially if you don't hear from them when contacting by email. I have added the communications below (latest first):

Hello,
Thank you for replying to my review.
I did request some samples to try and avoid surprises. When you called me about the repeated request for samples I stated that the main reason I ordered them more than once was because I wanted to get an idea of the tones and variations I could expect on the chosen tile. I also ordered samples from other stores too and they did not question why I was asking for more samples... maybe that was my mistake not buying from one of those stores. I decided to buy from you not because of the price, as that was not the best around, but because you had the tile size I wanted (~30cmx30cm) which I could not find elsewhere for that particular stone. Unfortunately, the 10x10cm samples did not do justice to the full sized tiles real look, in a bad way I'm afraid.
It is hard to find a single tile that resembles the pattern suggested on the 2 samples of Botticino that I got from you. I struggled to believe that I got what I ordered based on the samples look - The samples displayed a variation of beige, cream and white veins which matched what I was looking for - furthermore, both samples look very similar, and were ordered way apart! Nonetheless, the majority of the stones were rich in thick and dark grey veins and some brown stains.
I can send you some photos, including of the samples received if you want to analyse this further.
In conclusion, I believe that the samples could have displayed a more realistic picture of the actual tiles. Unfortunately, they played a quite misleading role in my tiles selection decision. And the word Premium on the tile name added a high expectation initially, which turned into bitter frustration to the overall purchase experience.
Sincerely,
M Leite

Subject: Re: Stone Tile Market: Shipment - 100001772 for Order - 100001838 - a potpourri of leftovers?
Good morning.
I have recently bought 16m2 of Botticino Polished Premium(?!) Marble and after having a contractor waiting for the delivery on 19/01, the tiles eventually arrived the next day, after I called for an update. That was not a big deal, but now that I am writing about other things, I thought I'd mention that too.
When the tiler came to fit the tiles this week, encountered the following issues:
- quite a few stones chipped,
- a few cracked that would break when handling them.
Most importantly I'd like to mention the different patterns. It makes you think "are these really from the same place / root? is this what I ordered?" I know natural stone have variations, different shades and tones - it is not the first time I buy them. These are extremely, unbelievably different; especially compared to the samples received, and the pictures on your website, and the pictures I received by email from one of your projects.
It looks like I've got leftovers of different kinds of stone. Unfortunately, I have to say that I am disappointed and frustrated with the quality of the "Premium" stones received. I really don't think that the cost paid was worth or compatible to this product.
An interesting fact, I have noticed that the front and back stones in all the boxes (the ones you can see without opening the boxes) look very nice! However the ones inside are more like a "potpourri of leftovers".
Sincerely,
Marcia
