Just last week we returned from our 3 week holiday to Venice, Ljubliana (Slovenia) & Croatia.
My husband has never really had the desire to travel to Europe and when I asked him if he wanted to go, he responded ‘not really, but you just tell me when & I will have my bag packed’.
I was really worried what his thoughts were. Not only could I see that he was having a good time, he told me that it was a great family holiday. Having a background in the building industry, he was amazed with the buildings, the feature, textures and the construction of them.
Still being a bit budget conscious, you recommended Hotel Malibran in Venice that was European 3 star. I wasn’t sure what that meant, but it was clean & comfortable. The breakfast was included and was enough to give us a great start to the day. We stayed approx. a 10 min walk from San Marco and I think it was a better location. Loved exploring the back alleys.
Although we took up your recommendation of Ljubliana in Slovenia, this was the place I was concerned about. After now ticking this off my list I can only describe Ljubliana as a scene out a romantic move, stunning! Side note – I might have to revisit as we had a half pouring raining afternoon and I didn’t go on the funicular to the Castle. The half day tours to Lake Bled, Postojna cave & Predjama castle were perfect and just the right amount of time. City Hotel was close to the old town, great stay & yummy breakfast.
From here we took the train to Zargreb (another experience that I would 100% recommend).
Short stop in Zargreb before we went to Split via Plitvice Lakes. Plitvice is worth the visit.
We booked a 7 night small boat cruise from Split to Dubrovnik. I loved every single port. The crew were great and the Cruise Director was kind enough to recommend some family friendly restaurants. A travel tip for your clients – they will do your washing on board and it is only approx. $30.
A highlight for my daughter was the island of Vis and visiting the locations of were they filmed Mamma Mia 2.
At the end of our trip we stayed 2 nights in Dubrovnik. Thank you for booking us into Hotel More! Spectacular in every way. Whilst there we enjoyed an afternoon at the cave bar watching the sunset for my daughter’s birthday. Probably the best day of my holiday.
We can’t thank you enough for the fabulous family holiday that we have just had. Your staff looked after every detail and I’m looking forward to booking my next holiday with you.

Land tour from Dubrovnik to Dubrovnik through Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Serbia (with a side trip to Montenegro) organised through Sun Island Tours.

Brilliantly organised and executed. Well-paced road trip, excellent driver and fabulous tour guide (Mirjana Vukusic - funny, knowledgable, great personality). Mirjana ensured everything ran smoothly and was a great resource for shopping. She also regularly followed up a lost bag and made sure that when recovered it was forwarded.

Local guides in Mostar, Sarajevo, Belgrade and Split gave us insight into the history and recent troubles of the area.

So much history.

Cannot speak highly enough of Sun Island and their local representative, Atlas Tours.

Now have Sun Island on 'speed dial' in anticipation of our next trip.
