The worst car rental company
The worst car rental company(rent it in Bucharest). It doesn’t even deserve one star!
The car was handed over to me at night and inspected superficially using a phone flashlight. I was told that they had already taken photos and that there was no need for me to take any myself. I trusted what I was told.
When I returned the car, I was told that it was dusty and that I would have to wash it again. I explained that I couldn’t spend time washing the car because I risked missing my flight. They asked me for €20 in cash, saying that they would wash it themselves.
About 30 minutes later, they called me and claimed that the trunk was scratched. As a result, they withheld €620 from my deposit.
And that’s not all. When I picked up the car, I was pressured to purchase additional insurance from them. I explained that I already had separate insurance and that I did not need another policy. I was told that they could not see the insurance I had purchased and that it was not valid.
I contacted my insurance company, and they refunded the amount within just 2 days, telling me that this was a practice they had encountered with SurpriceCar.
The whole experience was beyond disappointing. It was absolutely disgraceful. A complete lack of transparency, pressure to purchase additional insurance, and a charge that I consider completely unjustified.
SurpriceCar — shameful and completely unprofessional. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Surprice certainly lived up to its name…
Surprice certainly lived up to its name and provided plenty of surprises.
The rental location is quite a long way from the airport, and the transfer there was in a very run-down minibus. The car we received was old, heavily scratched on the outside, and had saltwater stains pretty much everywhere inside. In other words, it was virtually impossible to document all the existing damage, so full insurance is a must if you want to avoid the risk of being accused of causing damage when returning the car.
After a couple of days of driving, the service warning light came on — hardly a surprise considering the condition of the car.
We also got confirmation that the cars are not properly checked between rentals and that customer privacy is not taken particularly seriously when we found rental agreements belonging to three previous customers in the glove compartment. These contained personal information that no customer would want disclosed to unauthorized individuals.
Surprice was informed about this and handled it exactly as you might expect — they did nothing at all.
Never again Surprice for us.

Scam company - avoid contact.
At the return of the car they claimed all previous damages, regardless the mentions in the handover protocol. After showing them the pictures I took from the outside at the handover moment they asked me to sign something i didn't see, mentioning "No Damage". 2 h later i received an email with the receive protocol signed by me, where they claimed that the car has no damage and is dirty with seawater stains on the passenger and rear seat cover, stains that my wife noticed in the first moment when we received the car but we didn't thought it would matter as the car was quite dirty anyway. They issued an invoice for 585 Euro for 2 x 1/2 seat cover cleaning and booked 630 Euro from my credit card despite the proofs that the car was as dirty as we picked it up. After arguing about that they claimed that we smoke in the car were we are a non-smoking family, stating that the car was cleaned in March 2026 where we rented it in August 2026. Of course the smoke smell was mentioned in the handover protocol by their employee together with the sanitation need.
Right after us another older Italian guy came and he faced the same issue. He also stated that he was on a business trip with no sea contact, it didn't matter. In the end he grabbed the keys and went away with the car (assume he went to clean it).
