Swedebank treats you as a criminal if you are not "swedish"

Try to take money out or money in and they will treat you as "el Chapo" even if you provide all documentation, taxes, payroll slips and moving small amounts from Revolut, Incharge or any no swedish bank and they will treat you as scum.

However, if you are Svenson or any typical swedish white last name, then treatment is different.

Swedbank vs Revolut

If I could give zero stars... I needed to make a transfer to a friend in Sweden from my bank Revolut to his bank Swedbank. The payment was rejected by Swedbank without giving a reason. Ok, I thought, must be a mistake, so I made the payment again. No, it was rejected again... So I tried to make the payment from another bank, specifically from FIO bank, and wonder of the world, the payment went through... What kind of totalitarian practices and caprice is it that some institution thinks that it will be just like that block a properly registered bank with a European license for fun - Revolut...? They should close this bank immediately and file criminal charges against the top officials because it is against European law.

Refuse us to transfer legal money to outside Sweden

When we became customers we of course filled out the mandatory Know Your Customer papers. Here we clearly stated that we send and receive money across borders, especially Denmark and Bosnia.
Pupose: Expenses, bills and famlily/friends and more in each our home counteries.
Swebank can clearly see thet our income is legit and taxed.
My wife has an official court order translated and verified by Notary of paying child support. Despite this bank will not let us transfer our own money to Bosnia.

I was going to transfer 5000 sek to my mom, however Swebank demanded to see letter of debt and a birth certificate to prove my mom is my mom.

They say it's law. That is untrue since other banks don't block or denmand such doc. We can get around this, only it takes more time and fees.

I am furious, whatever I use my own heavily taxed money for is of no concerne to the bank. I'm asked to document without any concrete suspecion that I'm not a criminal ! This is our money, not banks money.

In general they do everything they can to deter people from showing up physically, hostile opening hours etc. Their customer service takes a lot of patience, a lot. But in return 9 out of 10 times service is so so. Only banks could get away with treating their customers like unwanted wannabee criminals.

Could I provide less than one star I…

Could I provide less than one star I had!

An Young account (active since sic years back) cannot be converted into an Adult account without a Swedish Photo ID.
Regardless of as a Dane having lived in Sweden for 18 years, recently becoming a Swedish Citizen, full proof of both Personal Number from Skatteverket and Citizenship and an international EU Danish Passport, it is not possible to handle an existing account, not ordering new BankID, not being able to pay on-line etc.

What kind of bureaucracy is this!

No exception, despite all the official ID's - Swedbank still insists on a Swedish issued photo ID.

So either a Swedish ID is needed - price aprox 500 SEK plus delivery time
Or a Swedish Passport - although already having a valid Danish Passport, valid for another five years
Or get a drivers license....

I will definitely NOT recommend Swedbank to anyone and I can't wait to close my account.

Swedbanks kund tipsar!

All the negatve comments written are in english and I wonder if this has to do with not understanding how the bank operates. Everything can be done in the comfort of your home, ones you open an account in a proper way. So I advice you guys to go to the bank first and get the right information on how they operate. Never had a problem with communication or getting the right service at the right time!

Lousy dirty money dealer bank that treat honest clients like garbage.🤢🤮

I opened an account after submitting tons of documents proving my income, like permanent employment contract, last 3 months statement of account, last 3 months salary slips. When I requested to open international payment service, they rejected me over the phone saying that the branch where I opened account supposed to but haven't scanned in those documents into the system. When I came to the branch, they just rejected me because I was rejected over the phone. When I told them that it was because they didn't scanned my documents into their system, they just said to come back again with the same documents and they might open the service. During the conversation the old lady was asking me where I was working and where my money come from. I was wondering why she was asking those questions when she had no intention to do anything with the information. It felt like your were caught red handed on a crime and that disgusting lady was a policemen interrogating you. Legendary Swedish racisms at its best!

Nack forum Swedbank branch, very bad

Hi,
I went to Nacka forum Swedbank branch for opening a bank account. The Swedbank person there was very rude and cold. I don't understand how these people are hired for a job where one has to interact with people a lot. These type of people damage the reputation of the bank. It was not the first time it happened to me in this Swedbank branch. Many years ago I went there to ask them to transfer my CSN money(which they got from CSN) to my bank. The Swedbank person there was also very rude. She behaved in a manner that she was doing some very big favour to me.
Well goodbye Swedbank. I will make sure my wife will close account in your bank soon. I don't recommend Swedbank to anyone. I found bank people from Nordea, Ica banken and Handelsbanken very pleasant and helpful.
