Absolute Dead Set Legends (Review by an Aussie)
As we Aussies say “Absolute dead set legends”.
My first order was in early 2023 and I’m still going strong.
My place is full of SwitchBot gear (App says 68 items to be exact) and it’s all top notch quality, and BTW their iOS and Android apps are awesome.
I’ve never had any issues with one of their products. Never had a DOA or one of their products fail.
But rest assured if you need help they’ve got your back, as their Customer Service is brilliant. Never experienced any issues and everything just works and continues to work.
I also have a large amount to of lighting products from another company who use Matter over Thread. Non stop problems, things stop working and their Customer Service can’t hold a light to SwitchBot’s.
The only issue I had related to my home setup and configuration, and it was my balls up. But SwitchBot still did absolutely everything they could to help with reps who know their products inside out.
I can’t recommend these guys enough. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
Cancelled order after 3 month delay
I ordered the Switch Bot S20 in the November sale. When it didnt arrive i followed up and learned the estimate was end of January. When it didnt arrive again I followed up and learned the new estimate was end of Feb. Something very wrong with their supply chain and no communication to the customer. Had no choice but to cancel the order.
Items never received
I placed a fairly large order with SwitchBot over a month ago during the Black Friday sales and, to date, I still have not received the items I paid for.
After chasing the order with customer services, I was informed that one of the items was out of stock and would not be restocked. This was the first I had heard of it. When I questioned why this had never been communicated to me, I received a patronising response thanking me for my “initiative”, despite the website stating delivery would take 1–3 business days and more than a week having already passed.
In their message they offered an alternative product, which I accepted within the hour. At that point, the representative I was dealing with (Iris) completely stopped responding. I had to send two follow-up emails just to get a reply.
When Iris finally responded more than ten days later, I was told that I should use the app next time if I wanted a quicker response. Why on earth would I download and use an app for a product I haven’t even received yet, simply to chase an online order?
I was then told that logistics had been informed about the replacement item and that I would receive a shipping notification shortly. That was over a week ago. I have received nothing.
As it stands, SwitchBot have taken my money, failed to deliver my order, and repeatedly ignored my attempts to resolve the situation. This is simply terrible customer service and extremely poor business practice.

I have had a parcel delivered to my address from the English address given on this company's website but for someone else who I do not know and who is not linked in any way to my address - and I have never ordered from this company either! I've also found posts that this has happened to other people and would like to know why my personal data is being misused.

My Lock Pro had an issue that required a replacement, and SwitchBot support guided me through the process and ensured that the issue was resolved. I felt well supported and that I made a good choice in choosing the Lock Pro over similar items.
Placed an order 3 weeks ago, no response
Placed an order 3 weeks ago, absolutely zero correspondence or updates regarding what is happening despite all products being in stock at the time of ordering. Submitted a ticket a 10 days ago requesting an update which took 6 days for a reply which basically said we might try to ship your order soon, can't even cancel the order because they don't respond to anything.
Best choice for non-intrusive home automation solution
I’ve been using SwitchBot products for over 3 years now, starting from the very first bot, and I’m genuinely impressed with how reliable they’ve been. Every device still works perfectly and continues to receive regular updates.
For anyone living in an apartment where you can’t make physical modifications, SwitchBot is honestly the best solution. It’s simple to install, non-intrusive, and just works.
I’ve reached out to their support team a couple of times to share feedback and feature requests, and they were super easy to contact directly through the app. The responses were quick, clear, and helpful.

Terrible customer service
I'm sure Switchbot make good products. My experience hasn't been that. My S10 failed after 2 days and 2 months later hasn't been resolved and trying to take advantage of their 30 day guaranteed refund is a joke. I've had to continually chase to get updates that take days to get a reply. If you never need the customer service then I'm sure it'll all be okay. If you do though... Best of luck!

Reliable smart devices with great Home Assistant support
I’ve been using SwitchBot products for about 3 years now, starting with their classic Bot device, and recently got an RGB neon light, which I really like for the light quality and how easy it is to change the shape.
The most important thing to me is that I can integrate smart devices into my Home Assistant setup, and SwitchBot devices are very well integrated with the HA environment.
Besides the software support and their nice app, I’m also very happy with the quality of their products. They don’t feel cheap, everything is well-made, and their customer support has been good in my experience.
I always follow their new products and hope they can keep up the good work on both software and hardware.
As a suggestion for improvement, I’d love to see an official Discord channel and an open-source community under SwitchBot’s supervision, so both the company and users can grow together.
SwitchBot is 100% not smart tech
SwitchBot is 100% not smart tech, I have two blind units one work reasonably well but far from brilliant the other is the biggest load of garbage I have ever bought. Set it up and it says it’s calibrated open the blind and it opens close the blind down nearly closes close the blind up it runs way past and snaps the drive off, calibrate it again and it’s pot luck if it works or the opposite happens. As for working with Alexa that’s so hit and miss it not worth the effort, but to be fair the app always opens and closes all most instantly but I don’t want to open the app every time I want my curtains to open or close.
I’m now looking for a new system as I’ve simply had enough of this, I have persevered for months so I’m not knocking this without giving it a fair chance.
New products all the time, but existing bugs never get fixed
I am very disappointed with SwitchBot. Instead of fixing the bugs in their existing products, the company seems more focused on constantly releasing new devices. In my case, the universal TV remote is almost unusable: most of the features have been labelled as “beta” since I bought it and there are never any updates. As a result, it is impossible to use it properly with a Bluetooth device or to use the Bluetooth function in a scene, which completely contradicts what the product promises.
Until SwitchBot focuses on reliability and on updating its existing products, I will not buy from them again and cannot recommend them.
Cool tech at affordable prices
Awesome products at great prices. They have some cool inventions that you don’t see from other companies. I use their smart lock which is a very cool piece of tech. The support they offer is also great.
Worst customer service and damaged curtain rail - AVOID
Terrible customer service, would not recommend!
I purchased a SwitchBot Curtain 3 after measuring the U rail I wanted to use it with and found it was just larger than the minimum stated compatible size.
The unit comes with a number of different size rollers, and the smallest rollers indeed fit perfectly in the U rail.
When activating the robot it made awful scraping sounds and scratched a lot of paint off the inside of the rail. When I removed the unit it was covered in specs of paint and metal.
I found the issue was the metal pin on the smallest roller extends beyond the plastic roller and on one side is not finished and is rough/sharp. On the larger rollers the pin does not extend past the plastic. There is some play and so the roller will move in the rail and can touch the side, and in my case the rough metal end catches and scratches the inside of the rail, causing damage to the rail.
I sent photos and a video explaining all of this to SwitchBot, thinking they might have a solution (send out a different roller), or at least acknowledge the problem in some way.
After several days, I got a reply back stating simply that the high street retailer I purchased the unit from "is not one of our accredited merchants".
They've just completely disowned the problem!
If you want to support decent companies with good customer service the avoid buying anything from SwitchBot.
You will get much better customer service buying something for a fraction of the price directly from AliExpress.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic Products That Make Life Easier
I have the SwitchBot Indoor Thermo in every room to monitor temperature and humidity, and I absolutely love them. The accuracy is excellent, and the seamless integration with Home Assistant makes them incredibly useful. I can easily set up automations and receive push notifications when it’s time to open the windows for fresh air.
The battery life is impressive, and overall these devices genuinely make my daily life easier. SwitchBot products are thoughtfully designed, reliable, and offer great software integration. Highly recommended!
Good product, Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. The product is amazing and works fantastic, but trying to communicate with the customer service team just brings replies of scripted answers. Both times of ordering, the product has been in stock, yet when it hasn’t arrived, the team have coincidentally just updated the website to be a ‘pre-order’ with months of wait. Be prepared to pay for a product you’ll get 3 months later, even spare and replacement parts are not stocked sufficiently. There’s never a genuine apology or understanding of the impact for paying for something which isn’t received. I wish the S10 wasn’t a such a decent robot or I’d sell it and never return to SwitchBot.
Switchbot K11+
This robot takes a lot of work off our hands.
We've found a corner to set up the base station (not much room needed). We've set a schedule so our downstairs gets vacuumed while we're at work. It's lovely to return to a clean house. K11+ finds its way really easy and rarely gets stuck. I've tried the mopping once, but I don't think i'll use it again, it's more of a gimmick.
Could see this as a downside, but I don't, never intended to use it. 9/10
