T-Mobile scam

I switched over from Verizon to T-Mobile. They said they were going to give me a rebate for my old phones. I did the whole transfer I sent my phones in they said that the rebate was good but when it came time to send the money they didn't. Verizon ended up taking $1,400 that at my account T-Mobile now says I have to jump through hoops in order to get a card sent to me. And I need to send them a bill amongst other things. So my account got overdraft because of the unexpected charge they are not reimbursing me for that they are going to give me a gift card in about 15 days. It took me 3 and 1/2 hours to get this straight going up to Verizon and T-Mobile because they couldn't do it over the phone. The people in the store got upset and aggressive when I started recording they told me I couldn't. So it seems like it's a big scam when it comes to transfer and phones over be very careful I would not recommend T-Mobile to anyone AT&t or maybe Verizon if you're desperate Good luck by stay away from T-Mobile they're scammers

T-mobile overcharges constantly

T-mobile overcharges constantly. Watch your bill. They lied about a $17 data upgrade (1/20 of data they promised, so I'm delivering invoices in person on my day off). Customer service, and this is after many, many phone calls, is patient but completely incompetent. Go to any other carrier, folks, you'll save a ton of time and irretrievably lost cash to the billionaires.

Worse customer service and experience I’ve ever had when dealing with an internet provider! It is beyond infuriating being passed between representatives only to not get your problem solved! 3 weeks in and my issue still has not been taken care of!! This company is utterly useless! Do not use them for anything!!

Zero stars should really be an option

Zero stars should really be an option - especially for companies like T-Mobile. They provide horrible service, horrible coverage, and they hold you hostage when you try to transfer to another carrier. I have been trying to transfer my elderly mother's phone to a different carrier for 4 days now. She lives by herself and without her phone she has no way to contact anyone in case of an emergency. I attempted to transfer her service on 4/17. I followed all the steps, got a transfer pin from T-moble, even paid the bogus $87.59 balance they said was still on the phone (even though the phone was paid in full when it was purchased). On 4/17 I was told the transfer was blocked because the esim was lock. So I called t-mobile and requested it be unlocked. They said it would take 72 hours. that's 72 hours my mother is without a phone and the ability to contact anyone or anyone to contact her. I called T-moble on Monday 4/20 to request the status of the unlock and it was as if I was starting from complete scratch. I am convinced this is the worst run (at least from a support perspective) company around. DO NOT - WHATEVER YOU DO - DO BUSINESS T-MOBILE.

Awfully bad

They don't know what they're doing. They have promised so many times to fix the tower issues with low signal strength but no action is taken. Calls drop in 98274 area all the time. Don't even deserve one star. Go elsewhere, it is a terrible service.

If I could rate T-Mobile "zero stars" I would. Their "agressive billing practices" make sure they can "soak your for every dime" ABOVE what they charge you per month should be outlawed.
Customer service is at best, "sporadic and unhelpful", and treats you with such a degree of "hubris," that you "almost feel bad" for "making them" take your call!

Three payments left on my (and my wife's) phone, and I'm "gone, baby gone!"

Satisfied NEW Customer

I switched from Verizon (after years) to TMobile. At first my online experience was slow & frustrating with porting info over. Once I went to the Tmobile store in Ellensburg on 4/17, all my concerns were resolved within a 1/2 hour BY KAREN. She was pleasant, professional, knowledable & patient. I also spoke with LOGAN today, 4/18. No issues, just wanted to pass on the Kudos. He was very pleasant & professional as well. GREAT Customer Service!! 👍

She called them after all this the other day to tell them that she wanted me off the account now mind you I’m the one paying the account all this time cause she was in a nursing home. I was paying for her phone, my phone, and everything else so now they switched me over to my own account but while I was on there, I was eligible for an upgrade so I was upgrading my phone so now my phone comes and they’re telling me they want me to send my phone back and redo the upgrade of my account. Why can’t they just transfer the phone over to my account? It was an upgrade. It’s not like I’m buying the phone or anything like that I mean, I am buying it but they could’ve transferred the paperwork over to my account then they put the wrong email address and they did not me and sent me paperwork to East now they wanna give me 24 hours to sign the paper so I told them they put the wrong email in they said they can’t do nothing about that so how am I supposed to sign the paperwork if it’s in somebody else’s email I’m not gonna lie. I really love to T-Mobile when I first started out. I love them to death but now since they bought out Metro, they bought out all these other companies, they’re not like they used to be with their customers they used to be caring these to be kind they used to work with you. They move mountains for you now they’re getting too big for their pants and they don’t have the same caring attitude that they used to have they will cut you off for $.20. It’s crazy. T-Mobile is not like it used to be. They used to care for their customers you had your own group of caretakers now you don’t get that anymore either it’s just ridiculous. They don’t have that caring and compassion they used to have. They used to treat you like one of the family and they took care of you no matter what now it’s either you do what they say or they cut your lines. They’re very coldhearted now and they don’t have no feelings and they don’t care and I’m so shocked with them and I’m so hurt cause they was a good company.

Three outstanding employees at the T-Mobile booth @ Costco

Three employees at the T-Mobile booth at the Surprise AZ Costco store helped me immensely when I stopped in asking for assistance a few days ago. Abigail, Tyren, and NinaMarie went above and beyond the call of duty helping me. I was so impressed with their professionalism, friendly nature and ability to fix my problem. Outstanding!

Impossible to cancel account even when not using it.

I went to cancel my account as I found a better price, fairly common practice. I ported all of my service over to another provider. I then saw another charge from T-Mobile after I cancelled my account with them. This was on the phone with them telling them I was cancelling and having the other provider port my numbers. When I called to cancel my bill I was told you can not do it without going into the store. If I stopped there this is already worth a 1 star in today's world. I get to the store and verified with my ID which then I had to call and wait on hold. At this time the manager of the store told me not to ask about credits as they could not do it, this turned out to be a lie as the person on the phone asked me about doing a credit and said they would check. The manager proceeded to tell me again after I answered the person's question on the phone about the credit not to ask as they could not do it(even though the rep was working on it). She said I had a free line on my plan and that is why I was charged. I told her I would call back when I got home as the manager was not making staying up there a great experience. I get home and call again to talk about the refund. They let me know that I would have to go back up to the store to talk about the refund, which the manager told me I could not mind you again. So I pushed a little trying to get some information and was told I could not talk to them about it till after my billing cycle ended. So I have to call back at try again in 2 weeks. T-Mobile is the worst to work with and the worst part is the reps on the phone are used to this as it happens so often. I should have listened to others about not going to T-Mobile and I hope everyone who reads this will avoid this company as much as they can.

Nightmare with tmobile

I had a issue with my tmobile phone and I went to the tmobile store in Pendleton Oregon 97801 and requested help unlocking my phone. I encountered two male employees that were very difficult getting either of these two to help me The one redheaded male employee flat out refused to contact customer service with tmobile to try and resolve my issue with my device. They kept telling me to call customer service myself. I called tmobile customer service when I left the store from a friend's phone as my phone now longer had service and could not be set up with the new carrier due to being locked. Tmobile representatives all tell me I have to go to the tmobile store to unlock the phone. I go back to the tmobile store to ask for a manager and he does call tmobile for me and helped me get a step further but did not resolve the issue of my phone being locked. The store was closing and I was told that me the account went into collections and I would have to pay the balance before my phone would be unlocked. The account was paid on the 11th of April 2026 in full to the agency. I was told it would only take 72 hrs to unlock the phone by tmobile by the collection agency and tmobile customer service alike. So I waited till the 16th of April 2026. The account is at zero balance and my phone is still locked by tmobile. I contacted consumer cellular who was the carrier I was switching to and they called tmobile to transfer service and unlock the phone. The representative placed a 3 way cll to tmobile and I was on the cll with a technician from tmobile. Now the tmobile technician states the phone cannot be unlocked due to ownership issues which is not credible as I remember getting this phone brand new and I am the legal owner of the phone and i dont have my receipt for the device So I'm still without phone service still can't use my device my device is now useless and they never resolved the issue I was not told that this was even a problem until a week later
Tmobile has the worst customer service they tell you whatever is necessary to get you off the phone its just another
usa business that outsourced their hiring to a third world country and you can barely understand their foreign customer service representatives making t-mobile customer service useless and a repetative loop of misinformation. The tmobile employees at the tmobile store here in Pendleton oregon were unhelpful rude and lazy except the manager (he did help after I demanded to speak to him) I will never use tmobile again and I give this business thumbsdown because its Such a nightmare to deal with any issue. I do not recommend this to anyone.

Matched $140 / month offer, but charged $300+ (over double)

How is it possible that T-Mobile can offer a plan for $140 a month and charge its customers over $300 a month where a manager states that we were misled by a representative, but they won’t let us out of the contract.

Here’s the story- I originally walked into a T-Mobile store and was offered a relatively small trade-in rebate for two old iPhone 11s (a few hundred dollars each) if I signed a new two-year contract. Wanting to explore my options, I went to Verizon, where I was offered a significantly better deal where I could trade in my two iPhone 11s that included new fully paid for iPhone 17 Pros and a monthly bill of about $140.

When I returned to the T-Mobile store and shared that offer, I was told that the store could not match it—but that if I called T-Mobile directly and negotiated with their phone sales team, they might be able to match Verizon’s deal.

So I did exactly that.

After negotiating over the phone, the T-Mobile representative confirmed that they would match Verizon’s offer—same phones, same structure, and roughly the same $140/month pricing. He discussed that each iPhone 17Pro would be fully paid for with an over $1,000 rebate for each one. He even stated that the deal was approved by a manager.

During that same call, he explicitly told me that the written contract I would receive would not reflect the actual deal and that I should ignore the contract language because what he was telling me on the phone was the real agreement.

Based on that, I moved forward since they offered the same exact deal.

Then the bills came.

Instead of the $140 a month we were told on the phone, both bills were all over $300/month—more than double what we were promised.

We spent over six hours on the phone with multiple customer service representatives trying to resolve the issue. Eventually, we requested access to the original call recording, because that recording clearly contains the representative stating the terms of the deal and instructing us to disregard the written contract.

T-Mobile has refused to provide the recording, which is illegal under California state law.

Instead, the “resolution” they offered was to lower our bill to around $240/month—which is still $100 more than what we agreed to and were promised.

At this point, our only option to exit the contract appears to be having Verizon buy it out. But even that doesn’t make us whole—we still end up paying more than the original $140/month deal that both Verizon and T-Mobile initially offered, and we’re left dealing with the financial consequences of a situation we did not create.

The core issue here is simple:
We made a decision based on a clearly stated, manager-approved verbal agreement that was recorded by T-Mobile. That agreement is not being honored, and the one piece of evidence that proves it—the call recording—is being illegally withheld from us.

Right now (according to the multiple T-Mobile customer support team members) we are locked into contracts that we agreed to and never would have agreed to.

Crazy enough, this is not the first time we had this exact situation with T-Mobile. When I originally went to that same T-Mobile store to get an iPad, I was told that the total value I would have to pay for the iPad was less than $100, the rest of the cost of the iPad would be credited to me if I agreed to a 3-year contract. Just like the other time, I was told by a rep in the store to ignore what I saw on the contract, that he was getting me a deal that wasn’t reflected on paper. Because of this misrepresentation by a T-Mobile representative, I’ll have paid over $600 in additional costs for an iPad that I was told would cost me less than $100.

The issue with this in store visit is there was no recording of that verbal guarantee. The one I had over the phone did have a verbal guarantee, and T-Mobile is not allowing me to access it after multiple requests.

If a company can tell customers to ignore their contract, promise one thing verbally, deliver something entirely different, and then refuse to provide access to the recorded proof, that’s a serious problem.

I would strongly encourage anyone considering doing business with T-Mobile to run the other direction. It seems like it’s baked into their business model to overpromise, make verbal agreements that they can’t back up, underdeliver, and overcharge.

Scam and/or incompetence

I called to cancel their overpriced internet service and they offered me a $20/month credit for a year (which would make it $30/month) and I agreed. They then failed to credit the account which I unfortunately didn’t realize until 2 pay periods had already gone by, and they wouldn’t refund anything. I called back and they then said they would give me the discount from that point forward. I, stupidly, trusted them to have fixed it, which led to me paying another 5 months of $50 dollars a month. I did not get any money back and the internet quality wasn’t anything special. 1/10 do not recommend.

If I could give T-Mobile zero star I…

If I could give T-Mobile zero star I would. They made promise to me & my husband about a great deal in which we could get a free cell phone, tablet & watch and that our bill would not change by very much..to only a few dollars. Well we found ourself with a whooping bill of over $400 a month on charges for the new cell, the watch & iPad plus 10 numbers showing up on the bill. When we debated such with the liar at the T-mobile store that initially introduced us to such an offer, she was clueless..,then we called the customer service with negative results..customer service barely spoke English..have absolutely no clue on what they are doing. What we ended up doing in order to get out from the contract of these scammers, we paid out all of the devices at a cost of over $2,000. Because otherwise we would be paying a monthly bill of $400 every single month. We ended up going with Xfinity since we have our internet with them. We do intend on reporting T-Mobile with the Attorney General in our state, the bbb, FCC, FTC.
Save yourself the aggravation & do NOT use this company or you will be sorry
