Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 368 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, describing it as unhelpful, dismissive, and difficult to reach a human representative. Reviewers frequently encountered issues with product quality, including receiving damaged, used, or defective items, and found the staff to be unprofessional. There were also numerous complaints about online orders, with items missing, incorrect, or not delivered as expected, and a general lack of accountability for these problems. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that prices were reasonable and that it was a good place for household items, with some even finding the employees helpful and polite.

I went to buy a Lego set and it was in the total wrong spot so I thought I was buying a $40 Lego set when it was really $60! Maybe get your prices right. It’s misleading and rude.

No Apologies, No Compensation, No Help

Used 3 gift cards at this store back in April, but one couldn't be used because I was making a purchase of another giftcard along with other items. I couldn't exceed the value of the items and apply it to the giftcard I was buying, so the associate used two of my giftcards and gave me back what I thought was my $100 giftcard. I came back a different day to make a purchase and took out my final giftcard to pay and they told me it had a $0 balance. The associate had apparently given me back one of my used giftcards with a $0 balance instead of the $100 one. I went to customer service and they couldn't help me and referred me to a customer service number. They couldn't help me either because I didn't have the card information. I said well obviously I don't have the giftcard number as the associate kept it (hopefully accidentally and didn't sneakily steal it). They said well do you have the receipt? I said no because it was a gift for my baby shower 3 years ago. They told me to go talk to the person who bought it...are they kidding? I had 50 people at this baby shower from 3 years ago. I forgot who gave it to me and I doubt the person who gifted it to me has their receipt or even remembers either. They said they couldn't do anything, even though this is a huge store chain and I have no doubt they have the power to rectify the situation. I said well is there anything else you can do because this isn't my mistake. I didn't lose my card, or misplaced it. I trusted your associate with it and trusted them to give me back the correct giftcard. They said no they couldn't do ANYTHING and said "well we have no information to go off." Again, whose fault is that...Target has systems in place to track these, so please don't tell me that you can't do anything. You guys just don't want to rectify the situation nor did they even try to accommodate me for the mistake or give a lousy 5% off or even apologize. What a terrible terrible chain. Apparently they are okay with $100 being taken from the customer due to a mistake by their employee. Total scam they can't figure out how to track this down. Obviously there is a full $100 giftcard with their used ones that they recycle and yet they can't figure out how to get me back my giftcard nor try to make amends. Taking from customers during a really bad inflation. Really nice Target!

I ordered a digital gift card from…

I ordered a digital gift card from target.com, I got an email saying my gift card was delivered to my email, but never got the code. I talked to a service agent, told me it takes up to 24 hours to load funds on the digital gift card and that I have to wait 24 hours to have it. That's not how that works. I have ordered digital gift cards from other places and had it immediately. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS AT ALL THEY WILL SCAM YOU!! It doesn't take 24 hours to load a gift card with money

I am very disappointed with this…

I am very disappointed with this purchase experience. The patio set arrived with missing chairs and no tracking information was available for several days. The table also arrived damaged with a visible dent in the metal frame.
What was most frustrating was the inconsistent customer service. I was initially told a discount could be offered for the damaged table, but later was told no adjustment would be made because the item was sold through a third-party vendor on Target’s website.
The return process has also been far more difficult than expected for a large furniture item. Customers should not have to leave oversized items outside for a 48-hour pickup window and assume the risk of theft or weather damage.
I ordered through Target because I trusted the Target name and expected better communication and support for items sold on their website.

Purchase cancelled.

I purchased a resin storage shed at a good sale price online. Two days later the order was cancelled for no apparent reason. Support said it was the retail partner but that the item had been relisted and I could purchase it for the same price. I ordered it again. The delivery date was moved 4 separate times and after two weeks I called to inquire. The order was then cancelled again. I contacted support and they said it was out of stock (Despite being listed on the website). I said that I was willing to wait but wanted the sale price. Support said there was no way to hold a sale price and refused to escalate the request any higher. Very frustrating experience.

Rockwall Target is by far the worst…

Rockwall Target is by far the worst Target on the planet!!! I stopped going into the store years ago because of the dirtiness and employees but continued to do "drive up." Well now that is over! Today, with gas being over 4 dollars and my lunch getting cold, I had to return part of my pickup. They gave me a box of Cesar dog food (which was ordered) but instead of it being packed in properly, the dividers were missing and random flavors were added and it was missing over 10 packs. When I returned it and explained, not even an "I'm sorry." "Can we get you a new box?" They did nothing with a frown. What a crappy store. I am now just going to go drive up at Walmart. They are so much better!!

Target is a disgrace

Target is a disgrace. We just purchased a snorkel mask, opened it and noticed it was broken, never used it, returned it to the store with a receipt within 45 minutes, and were informed they won't accept returns for "ocean items" even if clearly broken or defective. They werent even interested in seeing how it was broken, as the clerk said it doesnt matter because its store policy. This was at the Honolulu Marketplace location. I want to make sure everyone is aware of this disgraceful policy.

Online Order Damaged

We ordered a tv console online. We received a few of the pieces damaged. We followed the instructions inside the package and sent an email with pictures. Apparently it was handled by a Target "partner". They politely told us to contact Target directly. We contacted Target and explained that we are willing to keep it & my husband would glue the broken pieces and use some wood touch-up on the rest. However, they told us the couldn't give any compensation and basically our only option is to return it or purchase another and swap the parts, then return. ... Sorry but we'll never do online Target again - such a disappointment.

If I could put 0 stars I would

If I could put 0 stars I would. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE ONLINE. I was supposed to be issued a refund and it has been mistake over mistake over mistake. Each time being told to wait 3 weeks to get a refund only to still not have the refund and need to redo the whole process. I’ve had to call and correct the address so many times over. I am beyond frustrated that they’re not refunding me correctly. It has been over 6 weeks and they just told me to be patient for yet again another 3 weeks before there is a chance I could get a refund.

Target has gone downhill

Target has gone downhill. I consistently have issues with quality of pick up orders- from receiving rotten produce, to outdated meat and dairy products, and not receiving items entirely. And now they won’t even refund you when they make these mistakes. I won’t be shopping with them anymore, just to continually have my hard earned money essentially robbed from me. No thanks- I’ll spend my money somewhere else.

Beautiful stuff in store but not kind to those who

As I child I couldn’t afford it so I went in there for the first time and trust me the clothing is beautiful and there’s so many options but the judgmental looks from the customer services representatives are ridiculous and wrong you can’t judge someone based off how they look I felt so uncomfortable

They don’t let me return

They don’t let me return a target plus item. But when I ordered it, it wasn’t clear this item’s return window is 30 days instead of the usual 90 days. On the app, I would have to swipe down to see this, and it also doesn’t show this info in the delivered package or the order email. It is so absurd and misleading. This makes me not want to buy from Target again.
