Gemini helped, TaxAct didn't
Gemini helped inform me of tax credits while TaxAct was just the place to enter data. I filed an extension thinking I owed, tax act didn't actually send IRS the money as directed. I called and after waiting on hold was told to contact the IRS.. Dumb. Had I actually owed, TaxAct would have caused me a penalty.

Taxact did not file my tax return on time.
I have confirmation that my taxes were filed in March but now I find out they didn't get filed by taxact. I am sure I am facing penalties. I think taxact should pay those penalties.

Fantastic software with a clear focus on customer satisfaction and a smooth experience.
I appreciate the thorough review process that makes you double-check your information when it detects potential issues. I also think the user interface is easy to use and is intentionally kept as simple as possible to minimize overwhelming the user with information, while still providing access to additional information with helpful hints hidden in "i" buttons or links for more info. I also really like the ability to import data from previous years' tax returns; saves a lot of time. The UI also tells you which options are "common" or "recommended", which helps guide users through forms where they are unsure what to select.

Because you're deceiving and cost way to much.
Because, what stated as a free file for my son ended up costing $189. You're supposed to be able to file free, which is a lie, then after all is done and you add it all together it cost $189.00, which was about a third of what was paid in. I will be doing them somewhere else from now on. The only reason I still did them through Tax Act is because of time. I have been doing my wife and I plus my Son's and Mothers taxes through you but will be taking my business elsewhere.
