I continue to have issues editing…
I continue to have issues editing videos. It takes between 1.5 hours to 2 hours for the video to load into Camtasia. Once I edit the video, it takes another hour or two for it to export.

Snagit is my definite goto app for managing graphics. It does everything from capture, editing, management and placement. Nobody does it better...makes me feel sad for the rest.
Injured, deceived, this is the feeling
I bought the lifetime version, when they were going to change it I contacted them, they assured me that I would not have any problems, only that there would be no update, but I could continue using my version, they deceived me, I feel injured and harmed, because now they are changing what they said and are pushing me to a free version when I paid for a lifetime one.

Long time SnagIt user. Love the software. But Techsmith have just changed their pricing model to subscription, meaning unless you pay the arbitrary sum they demand every year, your access to the product ends. Don't bother.

Helpful and productive
Great software, annoying licenses
I have used Snagit since 2021 and have been a really happy customer - until the new license model was introduced.
Until then, I would install the software, and basically be ready to use it with no issues until a new version arrived. I often work on projects on temp devices, so the way i used it is that it was installed on my two primary devices (A Windows workstation, and macbook laptop). When working on guides etc on other devices, i would use the "old" version. And on every upgrade cycle I would upgrade, and then bump my primary devices to the new version.
Worked great. On completion of projects, the software would be deleted. On two many activations I could simply reset the activation count on the legacy versions, but my primary devices was always ready to go.
Then came the subscription version - ohh the joy - now one license can only be signed in at a time. So if i work on my workstation then i have to sign in - then i move location and use the laptop and needs to sign in again. Moves back to my workstation - and would you know it - I have to sign in again. Annoying - but workable.
Then when I have a test device, I can sign in again on those, however, since it can apparantly only be used one place at a time, this will now sign out my primary devices. So the alternative? I bought a secondary subscription on another mail.
This now caused that I need to play around with two different accounts, depending on the device i'm on - and remember - I have to recall the different passwords every time i use the device.
But are there an alternative? Yes, yes, there are. I could buy the teams version, which conveniently is priced at 10 Euros more for each seat - and with the added "advantage" that each seat only covers one device. So that would require me to buy 3-4 seats - which is about 200 Euros per year.
The software is great, and I don't mind paying for it, but to me, this is a huge annoyance. The most annoying part is that snagit is still the best tool for my uses, but the endless signin cycle is so annoying that i have decided to go for alternatives.
bottom line:
5 starts for the developers for at great product
1 star to management who decided that a new subscription model was a great way to increase profit and annoy customers.

I find Snagit extremely useful
I find Snagit extremely useful. I originally purchased it for a flat fee. Now they have shifted to a subscription system. I'm not a big fan of those so will make the renewal decision between now and the next renewal date.
Davinci si much better editor
TechSmith Camtasia is overly expensive to purchase (200 USD+VAT/1 Year) and is limited. DaVinci is much better for editing. Camtasia doesn't have the features of DaVinci. I do not recommend TechSmith!

Industry standard apps and support
I’ve been using TechSmith products, especially Camtasia, for almost 20 years, and they’ve always been my go-to tools. Their customer support is among the best I've seen. They're quick to respond, helpful, and easy to work with. Sure, there are times I wish a specific feature existed, but I’ve never had a support issue go unresolved. The apps do exactly what they’re designed to do, and they keep getting better every year.
Its a garbage Software
Its a garbage Software. I spent 14 hours straight editing a video, and when i tried to save it, some files went missing. BS!

I worked with Live Chat today and the technician was knowledgeable and fixed my issue right away. Her name was Jean Torres and she was fabulous!
AVOID! HORRIBLE! Overpriced rubbish.
AVOID! HORRIBLE! Overpriced rubbish that force you into a subscription and removed the ability to buy a license. AI Chatbots for support that dont help you and just keep apologizing and sending you the same answers without understanding what you want.
UPDATE: they say they don’t use chat bots… well they have horrible staff replying you. They don’t answer your questions and are no help. So disappointing

Amazing software company that actually…
Amazing software company that actually takes user feedback into consideration when working on new software releases. They also provide amazing live training webinars and have lots of great user documentation on how to utilize various features across their software. However, there are several bugs across their software that make using them a less than ideal experience. Their support staff do not have adequate capability to provide 5/5 support. Sometimes I end up finding a solution on my own that the support staff couldn't figure out. It also takes a lot of back and forth for them to understand the issue, which is mildly annoying.
