Tricksters with false promises

Beware of Telecom salesperson that come to your doorstep, THEY ARE SELLING LIES! A woman name Valentina Salja came to my door and told me the glas fibre internet is coming until the end of 2021 to our street and I could get it if the building owner agrees to that. That sort of connection will provide a stable connection she said. She offered me a “special deal” to transfer immediately to Telecom, and for the transfer period until they get the glas fibre into the building (the first 6 months she said) they will provide me with a speedy dsl connection for the same price. I can choose whatever speed I want they all cost the same for the first 6 months. “And what happens if The owner does not agree to the glas fibre implementation”, I asked. THEN YOU CAN QUITE YOUR CONTRACT she responded. And guess what? The building owner refused the glas fibre and Telecom does not allow me to quit for the next 1,5 years, that was a 2 year contract. That is what kind of business Telecom runs in Germany. They lure you with wicked lies and then you are scre*wed.

VERY bad experience!!!

Unfortunately a big company like Telekom and Completely rubbish service!!!

I spoke to a sales lady over the Telekom chat and She offered me DSL for home with special discount and extra benefits like MagentaZuhause Schnellstart as temporary solution till I get my internet fix at home.

I received the MagentaZuhause Schnellstart today with delay, also the device is not activate and It will take up to 24 hrs for activation!!! It took me one and half hours to figure out that the device need to be active!!! No single paper mentioned that the SIM card need to be active!!! Oh man just waste of time!!!

Try for the last 3 days to contact the customer service, each one tell different answer and story!!!

The funny, that I’m still in the 14 days (Widerrufsrecht), so immediate Kündigung.

DONT TRUST THEM!!! They never tell the truth!!!! And always ask them for written confirmation for whatever they promised, otherwise you will get manipulated.

A phone company w the worst phone service

This company's help service is enraging. I was waiting for 33 minutes! just to have a simple question answered! It is ridiculous for a company of this size to be so bad with telephone support. I might have been able to solve this problem on my own using their chatbot, if I ever received an understandible option to switch to English. Instead I had to wait 15 minutes to get the lady who cannot provide servise in English, and then 18 more minutes to get the guy who can. My question after all turned out to be so simple that I feel like a complete idiot. I feel like going to any other company just because this is truely inconsiderate. Telecom profits from the users in many countries. So it is not strange to expect some international approavh instead of this!

I am changing the review because I was contacted by their customer service (before posting this) with better approach and the things were sorted out the next day.
The whole point of waiting till 2100 hours for system to update is something they should fix. This wasted two days of my work week.
Forwarding call to someone who understands English
or setting later call can also be something to look into. I understand that this their country and no one invited me to come here. That is why I am learning their language. But that takes time and Internet has become a very essential service in the pandemic situation. A little more empathy at points can really change things.
The technicians both were super and it will be shameful to rate lesser than 5 for them.

They have the most costly packages and their service is really really bad. My internet connection was installed yesterday morning and still not working. I keep calling them and they tell me to wait. After more than 24 hours of waiting, I still have to call again and again.
On every call I try to start with German and tell them that I understand very little in German. One operator even told me there is no hotline service without German. Yes I understand that much of German.
It has been one month of coming into the country, do you expect me to be fluent in your language before I take your internet service?

All my life weve had telekom and not once has it worked correctly, theres always a fault, whether its a bad router or a bad connection, even with optic internet its still the same as it ever was, bad service, lies of being qualitative and awful propaganda of having the best internet. The worst internet service you can get. Just another useless company that loves making money off lies and deceptions. Absolutely horrendous

Telekom is the worst

Telekom is the worst Internet provider I ever had, customer support is the absolute worst. When i first got the Internet it didn't work for 3 Months, i couldn't reach anyone at customer support and no one answered my E-mails, then finally after complaining in what felt like 20 Mails they got my Internet working, but very slowly and never steadily. When my Contract was finally over the same thing, i tried writing E-mails and calling customer support to cancel and for 3 Months no one bothered to tell me if my Contract was actually cancelled. After calling them again finally they cancelled my contract 4 Days before they shut off my Internet. No one even bothered to apologize or deal with my Situation no one really seemed to care about their customers and everyone on the phone was just plain unfriendly. I can with a lot of confidence say that Telekom was the worst experience i ever had dealing with an Internet provider, Please if you book your next Internet provider don't repeat my mistakes.

I am usually not someone who writes Reviews at all, but this experience was so frustrating i just had to share it to help others avoid this.

Impressivly bad: 0/10

Waiting for 6 weeks to get a connection. I can't do my work without internet.

On the first appointment they could not do the installation due to the previous tenant not having cancelled their contract. They promised they would fix it and get in touch.

They did not get in touch and I had to spend 2h on the support hotline to get them to fix the problem give me a new appointment.

Second appointment today. The appointment slots are 6.5h long. Yes, not a typo. So after hours of waiting their site showed me that the technician came by and I was not present.

Seriously, this is one of those 0/10 customer experiences. You almost have to try to be this bad.

Edit: functioning internet after 7 weeks. Maybe this increased the experience to 0.5/10?

They sent me a router on Monday and since then, it hasn't been working. Tried calling them on the hotline but they keep on leaving me on hold.
Telekom is a terrible company and I feel as if I have been scammed out of my money.

Terrible internet and even worse…

Terrible internet and even worse customer service. They provided with the bare minimum internet that they can get away with. We feel cheated after the 1st customer service call and feel like garbage after the second one. Please avoid them at all costs.

Dies ist der schlechteste…

Dies ist der schlechteste Kundenservice, den ich bisher hatte, es kann nicht sein, dass sie ständig auflegen wird. Kein Vertrag ist von denen zu sehen, die versuchen, Sie davon zu überzeugen, andere Tarife zu wehelen, um die Wartezeit für den Techniker zu verkürzen. einfach schlecht gemacht und unprofessionell und sogar geschäflich als Privatkunde ist das gleiche.
einfach zeitverschwendung habe diesen monat 8 mal telefoniert und bei langen wartezeiten sollte die mich für diesen zeitaufwand zahlen.

This is the worst customer service I've had so far, it can't be tha they hang up all the time. No contract is seen by the helpline trying to convince you to change to other tariffs in order to cut the waiting time for the technician. simply badly done and unprofessional and even business as a private customer is the same.
simply a waste of time, phoned 8 times this month and with long waiting times should pay me for this time.

The worst company to ever exist!

The worst company to ever exist!! Every time i call them a different person answers and they are all so clueless as if they don’t communicate with each other at all! As i complained about Telekom SCAMMING MY MOTHER, the assistant i was talking with offered me a damn TABLET??? As if i would buy one from you and as if it would fix anything!!!!! Scammers absolutely NEVER EVER again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND TELEKOM AT ALL. I know that we won’t get our money back (which is a lot for us!!) but hopefully nobody else will get scammed by them by reading this complain. Basically what happened is that we wanted to sign a contract for Internet and Mobile and use the MagentaEINS Vorteil. So we did that and a few days later we received our SIM-Cards (mine had a defect because it didnt work at all and just… ugh so frustrating!! how could you send a defective SIM-Card???) and my mom put hers in. We waited almost two months now for a Post for the Internet Contract btw and everytime i contacted a telekom assistant they’d LIE to me and tell me something completely different than what the other assistant has told me before. Not to mention that we didn’t get an Auftragsbestätigung for the SIM-Cards which is unacceptable. And since we talked about the mobile SIM Card Tarif being 19,95€ the first 6 months, we were okay with that. And now my mom who has barely even used her damn Phone must pay 100€ + 40€ for this damn month no matter if she uses her sim or not. We are talking about 6GB here. Are you guys kidding me??? You deserve to get your whole company closed. Not to mention the arrogance and the NERVE your workers have. Unacceptable. I wish we never signed that damn contract.

Technician didn't turn up twice in a row.

I entered into an internet contract with 1&1 three weeks ago. The connection was activated after 2 weeks (which is standard here in Berlin) but broke after 4 hours. The line could not be fixed remotely so an appointment was booked for a Deutsche Telekom technician to visit two days later. The technician didn't arrive during the 8am to 2pm slot. He called to say the connection was broken. I asked how long it would take to repaired. He said maybe 1 to 2 days and I should call 1&1. I called 1&1. They said the technician's report said they couldn't access the building. This was not true. I was here the whole time and nobody rang the doorbell on the street or outside our apartment. Our name is clearly marked on both doorbells. The technician didn't ask me to come downstairs or let him in when he called on the phone - simply that he couldn't fix the problem there and then. I arranged a new appointment with 1&1 as soon as possible, for today, Friday - now 5 days after the connection was supposed to be active. I waited all morning today but, once again, the technician neither rang the doorbell or called. 1&1 called to say the technician was outside and couldn't get access. I ran downstairs but there was nobody there. The front door was actually open so they could have walked on in if they had truly visited. The box they need access to is in the courtyard. I repeat that no technician actually rang the doorbell or called us. I have now had to book a third appointment for Monday morning, with no guarantee that the same thing won't happen again. Not having internet is seriously affecting my job. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a company.

If DT responds asking me to contact them via their webform (which requires that you are a direct customer with a customer number or username) it will be a cynical attempt to look like they are addressing my query, while knowing that I can neither use their webform nor respond to their reply on TrustPilot.

my apologies for the inconvenience caused for you by our technician/s. I can absolutely relate to your frustration about the fact, that there seems to be no real will to fix the problem occuring on your connection.

Apart from the possibility that our technician is indeed lieing - which would be more than just outrageous - I can also see the possibility, that there might be further places in the building he may need access to to fix the problem. The APL (the box in the courtyard) for instance. Is it really free for him to access, or is there an added layer of protection, like a specifically closed of room for it or simply a locked closet around it? Is there maybe a seperate room for your APL and the one in the courtyard belongs to a different ISP or is just serving other parts of the house? It can happen in larger buildings that there is more than one APL. In either case, I would suggest you to speak to your landlord to make absolutely sure that the possibility of no access can be nullified.

Regarding our contact form: You can contact us via that, even if you are not one of our customers. Yes there is a box for the customer ID. It is however completely optional. All we really need is, an e-mail address and/or a mobile phone number so we can contact you directly.

Since you are not our customer, we sadly won't be able to help you directly. For connections that run over another ISP but over on of our lines, we can offer no direct support. This is due to the fact that we are on the basis of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the EU not allowed to have access or insight in any information regarding customers from other ISPs.
The only way for you to get this situation solved, is to contact 1&1. They then have to contact our corresponding departments that exist for exactly these cases. There also is a way to escalate such a case over said departments.

Regrettably, I can once again only offer you my apologies.

Worst experience ever!

Worst experience ever!! I tried to change contract details for my 80+ year old parents, had proxy and their ID cards only to be told that I need a notary public certified proxy! That's hundreds of euros and parents would still have to walk to see the notary public. How stupid is that. Zero customer service and empathy for clients who clearly cannot walk but have been customers for 30+ years. Everyone in the Telekom telling a different story. Oh, but they can discuss details but they cannot change them. Obviously data privacy doesn't mean to them either ...

Worst service I have ever encountered!

Terrible terrible service! For over a month,we had been trying to get internet in the house. When we contact Telekom, we have received a different answer from different people. First: The line was "taken", Second: The DSL line does not exist, they have to install it. Once we decided not to hire them, they call and magically "The line was always there".... No one CARES to come a take a look. You are THE MOST expensive service provider and provide a terrible service. If I ran my company like you do I will have no clients. There is zero communication between your service support. All have a different story, a different solution. Now the latest "curiositity" is that I have been charged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 FOR NOTHING! I have NO SERVICE WITH YOU! and you charged me
