Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 340 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers expressed disappointment with the quality of the products, describing them as dry, tasteless, and lacking freshness, often not justifying the long wait times or cost. Reviewers frequently reported issues with the texture and flavor, noting items were greasy, stodgy, or had an unpleasant chemical taste, with some even comparing them to rubber. The packaging was also a common concern, with cakes arriving squashed, stuck to the wrapping, or in boxes that were too large. Conversely, some people were satisfied with their orders, finding the cakes delicious, moist, and well-packaged, even praising the generous portion sizes. These customers appreciated the taste and texture, with some highlighting specific items as phenomenal and worth the wait. They also noted that the business was transparent about wait times and that the products arrived in good condition.

I would avoid avoid avoid

I would avoid avoid avoid! Have already taken money on hundreds of orders and still not fulfilled these, being 5 months plus behind. The website states at least a 12 week wait even though this is way longer judging by other reviews and complaints on TB pages. Any genuine negative reviews are met with distain and angry responses, the owner dismissing these as disgenuine. Are we really all silly enough to believe there is only good things to say about this cake maker!! Says it all when these comments are quickly deleted. If I had spent my money on some cakes which look rushed and are made with cheap products, whilst seeing the baker and his family blowing it in London on very expensive clothes, food etc, I would be very annoyed. If he just caught up on orders and then took more it wouldn't be so bad. Look at the cakes he used to make before he had to fund his lavish lifestyle, they looked like they were made with pride. Now he just churns out the same cakes, dry and cheap whilst prancing around in his Boss trainers you've all prepaid for. My advice would be go elsewhere, such better, hard working bakers out there with lovely bakes who don't take your money and provide cakes months later. Remember people these are easy quick bakes you're waiting months for not a hand made sofa.

It is well documented that this guy is…

It is well documented that this guy is a scam artist who makes up fake “go fund me” pages and other awful stuff, but what worries me the most is that the only company under Terry or Nikita’s names at Companies house is the now defunct Bakeaway. What this means, is that TerryBakes is not a registered business. I checked this out, as, I knew that the waiting time is illegal for a registered business. Basically all these people ordering his cakes, need to think about their payments, ie where they are actually going, and how buying from a business that isn’t registered means no protection for you, no tax returns and no clarity of annual accounts to see what money is coming in, and what’s is being paid out. There should be a proper and fully separate business account, not forwarding through a third party middleware extension. I have done many searches as this was my work before, so if anyone else would like to look as well. Please feel free. Terry has been banned a couple of times recently from TikTok, the most recent being over online bullying. So, before you start on me in one of your video rants
No, I don’t still live with my Mum
I have always been employed since 14 years old, I have only had to stop working as I have fast growing aggressive cancer.
No, I do not spend my time at home w*n**ng to dodgy videos.

OVERPRICED JUNK FOOD WITH ADDED SPIT

I struggled to find anywhere i could post a review that could not be deleted by the business owner. This business literally has NO reviews online what so ever. Surely if he's as good as he says he is there'd be 5* reviews all over the Internet? So strange that he has disabled Facebook reviews and Google reviews. Thank goodness he's not able to disable or delete trust pilot reviews. Its the only place I was able to find where I could leave a review. I have never ever come across an online business that seems to discourage reviews being left...very odd.
Anyway my bakes arrived 20 weeks after I ordered and paid for them. Terry Bakes took my money 20 weeks before he decided to fulfill the order....bizarre. On opening the box to get to my much awaited cakes I was disappointed to see that the cakes looked like they'd been bouncing around in the postal system for 20 weeks....perhaps stuck in the back of someone's van all that time.... I would have posted a photo however it seems that option is also not an option...again why wouldn't he want photos of his "massive and delicious bakes"
I couldn't eat them they looked that bad, and also after watching more of his videos recently I've seen spit flying from his mouth on to his bakes...there was no way I could eat them after seeing that.
Being honest I'd pondered canceling my order many tines as new information came out about the business owner. He has apparently been seen in a video talking sexually to children(Boys) and apparently another video of him beating his dog before he rehomrd it. He is also seen buying the cheapest of cheap ingredients for the cakes he is selling but buys high end quality ingredients for anything he or his family will be eating. Its very easy to learn stuff about this man as he appears to live every aspect of his life through social media. Anyway I dont recommend this business nor would I order from him again.

My review of Terry bakes (yes I have ordered from him and no I’m not a troll)

So I just wanted to come here and tell everybody my honest review

I was so happy to order from Terry bakes to start off with.

The time to wait I didn’t mind as I thought it would be a nice treat when it turned up

How wrong I was
the items turned up on a really hot day so all the toppings and welded onto the plastic bags

Not a problem as the instructions said to put in the fridge which I did and got them out to try for tea

The old school sprinkle sponge was over baked and stodgy

The brownie had no chocolate taste and was very flat and dry

There were 2 cookies sandwiched together with a “kinder” spread
the cookies had disintegrated around the edges and the spread had a strange oily aftertaste

The last item was a white chocolate oatie
The topping had become liquid so I was hoping it was going to be better after being in the fridge but it was way too sweet and the oats had an oily taste

I usually love to support local and always try to buy from surrounding area but this is one baker I would not go back too

Cheap ingredients, premium prices

I’ve known of Terry for a few years in and around Norwich. I’ve had a few “bakes” He’s ran the business from his house in sprowston, had a shop near the brickmakers, closed the shop, ran it from a house in Hellesdon, then opened a shop opposite the whiffler, shortly after closed the shop and operated from home again. He was called bakeaway in the early days, but that company got dissolved. During all this he was also operating as hammer bakes on twitter. So it’s a bit of a mess.

These cakes and bakes are made using the cheapest ingredients possible. Which, when charging premium prices is disgraceful. You clearly don’t care about people if you’re letting them consume a mix of palm oil, emulsifiers and other chemicals. I personally wouldn’t put the mix of high processed food into my body but each to their own. There’s a reason it’s called buttercream: you use butter not chemical filled Tesco soft spread. This in itself is a trade descriptions breach. But this is done because butter is £1.99 for a 250g block and the spread you can buy a kilo for about the same price. As for using Ms Molly Tesco chocolate instead of a high quality brand like callebaut shows it’s about profit not taste and quality.

This is such a shame as Terry clearly has a large following but instead of providing quality bakes he aims to do it as cheaply as possible to maximise profit. Also the problem is rather than take any feedback on board and make changes he calls any criticism as fake or haters etc and loyal sheep followers will back him up. If he could get someone with some knowledge onboard he might be able to turn it around but the only person ruining his business is the owner himself.

It seems he’s more interested in being a social media star than a decent baker. Avoid.

....

What a horrible, arrogant, lying man he is.
Just to clarify i have not ordered or ever plan on ordering from this man. Why anyone would support this man and his family after the things they have done. Fraudulent go fund mes for things they said they needed but they didn't even use the money for it, just spent it on god knows what else. It was FRAUD! How people can be so stupid to keep being fooled by him is beyond me.
Today we found out that he's an "inspiration" to people, I'd love to know how he is inspiring people? Is it how to commit crimes and get away with it? How to not make cakes? How to spit all over cakes that he sells? Have no idea about cross contamination? How to run a business? Really??? Common people, wake up!!!

Under baked over priced

Feel robbed!
Genuinely was happy to have waited since September.
However when opening the box I was sadly disappointed with the overall look. Squashed in cheap plastic bags. You could taste the cheapness of the bakes. Too synthetic and sweet. Greasy as well.
He just blocks anyone who complains so you can't get an honest opinion from their fb page. Those that say they are happy imo are just sad sheep. He obviously doesn't care about quality just making a massive profit on poor cheap bakes.
Absolute conman and woman. Hopefully folk will soon realise and the sales will soon reflect if haven't already.
Should be a law against these kind of sellers!

I’d like to start by saying please don’t waste your money!

I’d like to start by saying please don’t part with your money! Ordered a mystery box, it came last week now when you see the cakes he shows on his videos you will get nothing like these.

My cakes because I paid for, for him to make them why I don’t know but I’m house bound and thought I’d give him a chance, they was all smaller than he shows and had got squashed on the way to me, they had all stuck to the plastic sandwich bags he uses not one of them was worth saving, I emailed and complained and the reply I received was, what did you want them to do about it as once they’ve left his house it’s then down to the delivery service, this is appalling customer service, please take my advice don’t waste you’re money and time waiting for for months on end for a box of sweaty crumbs to turn up. If you can get out to go buy local I’d strongly encourage you too. Luckily I have 2 wonderful carers who have bought me some beautiful cakes and cookies and cookie pie slices.
Margie.

Would not order again unfortunately

I ordered a mystery box in September 2025 and they got delivered 14th 2026 of feb, which wasn’t an issue as Iknow through his following he has a ‘back log’ .. However I expected much better especially with the wait as I assumed they must be ‘the best’ bakes. Unfortunately they was not,
All 4 of the products was over rated, over cooked & overpriced. They went in the bin. I’m so devastated for Terry & the bakes as I really wanted them to be amazing or at least edible! Standards are non existent here, not sure who is doing the quality control.
My advice would be to NOT bother :( x

A friend ordered some of these so…

A friend ordered some of these so called delicious cakes. After waiting months they finally turned up. And wow we should have been paid to eat them. Dry undercooked and cheap ingredients. My sons attempts at cooking at nursery have been better. Not long after that I watched a live. Where you could see visible spit/ saliva and that was all over the products being made. It made me feel physically sick. At least should be wearing some kind of mask to stop Saliva going all over the cakes.

DO NOT ORDER Terry Cakes Mystery Box

I ordered the Terry Cakes Mystery Box and honestly, the only mystery is how every single item managed to go wrong in a completely different way.

Let’s start with the cake. It looked fine on the outside, but one bite in and it was clearly undercooked. Not “luxuriously gooey” — more “did someone forget to set a timer?” The center had the unmistakable texture of batter that never committed to becoming cake.

Next up, the cookie. I don’t know how something can be both baked and bone-dry, but they pulled it off. The second I picked it up, it disintegrated into crumbs so fine it resembled edible dust. One bite triggered a crumb explosion across my table. I’m still finding crumbs in places that make absolutely no sense.

Then came the bourbon brownie. I had high hopes. Those hopes were misplaced. It was dense in the way a brick is dense. The bourbon flavor? If it was there, it must have evaporated along with any hint of moisture. Somehow heavy and dry at the same time — an impressive but deeply unfortunate achievement.

Finally, the oat flapjack. I expected chewy, buttery comfort. What I got was a slab of oats clinging together out of pure determination. It felt less like a treat and more like emergency rationing.

And to top it all off, I emailed to complain and didn’t even receive a response. No apology. No acknowledgment. Nothing.

So to summarize:
• Cake: undercooked.
• Cookie: turned to dust.
• Bourbon brownie: edible brick.
• Oat flapjack: survival bar.
• Customer service: nonexistent.

Do not order from here!!!!

Not great

I ordered a box in September knowing that there was a wait. Received my box in February, the portion sizes were good but unfortunately the taste/quality was not.

I had kinder cookie pie which was OK, due to the filling the cookie crust was very dry. A Biscoff cookie which was so dry I couldn’t even eat it. Old skool cake which was obviously undercooked (stodgy through the middle) and a coconut/pistachio brownie which I didn’t eat as I don’t like coconut so I can’t comment on the quality of that.

I wanted to give these bakes a try & the benefit of the doubt despite so many bad reviews after following on Instagram for a while thinking maybe it was a witch hunt. Sadly really underwhelmed & would not recommend.

Give Terry a try you might be pleasantly surprised

I ordered back in September where I was warned there would be a wait of at least 12 weeks, it was longer but that didn't bother us, just ended up being a nice weekend treat.
I have seen lots of trolls online saying the bakes were small. The first thing my adult daughter said when they arrived was so omg they are huge. We gave 3 different family members a bake each which they share due to the size. They all said they were amazing and would happily order themselves.
My advice is try for yourself rather than believing everything you read online.

What a waste

I really wanted to like these...

After the huge wait, I was optimistic. I'm sorry but these are without any shadow of a doubt the worst bakes I have ever tried. I am a regular buyer of these sorts of goods.

The ices topping had melted into the plastic cellophane and the cookie dough was undercooked. All 4 bakes were incredibly synthetic. They went in the bin.

I have ordered online from a few bakeries now - I won't name them bevause I would not to be accused of being a hater or promoted other businesses. But let me just say these were grim... real grim.

If you want to pay £25 for sweaty synthetic cheap tasting bakes in unappealing packaging, go for Terry. If not, literally order from anyone else.

Long wait for ok cakes

Waited 5 months for the mystery box to finally turn up, yes the cakes were nice but my local bakery are just as good. Paid £25 and had 2x school cakes which was annoying as was hoping for a mix, and there was a white chocolate mint aero cake and a biscoff cake, all ok cakes but not worth all the hope. Sadly it’ll be my one and only purchase
