Very disappointing experience.

Very disappointing experience.

The Outnet chooses to rely on its own terms and conditions even when these appear to conflict with mandatory EU consumer protection law. Instead of complying with applicable regulations, the customer service simply refer customers back to their internal policies. They do not solve the problem.

For a large international retailer, I expected better legal compliance and customer treatment. Unfortunately, this has significantly reduced my trust in the company.

Refused to justify PA sales tax on return fee for tax-exempt item by stonewalling

I returned tax-exempt fashion boots from Pennsylvania. THE OUTNET deducted a $9.95 return label fee but also charged $0.60 PA sales tax on the fee, for a total deduction of $10.55.

I asked customer service to provide the Pennsylvania tax authority supporting sales tax on a return label fee when the underlying item/transaction is tax-exempt, or to refund the $0.60 as a goodwill correction. Instead, I received repeated template responses stating only that “policy” allows “applicable tax,” with no citation, no escalation case number, and no substantive answer. Policy does not override tax law!

I’ve used their prepaid return label in prior years on tax-exempt items without any tax being charged on the return fee, so something changed on their side, but they REFUSE to explain it.

They seem comfortable stealing from their customers on a large scale through small monetary increments. It’s highly unethical and can potentially become a class action. Be aware of this if you ever try to return tax-exempt items to them using their label.

Excellent site to order from

Easy ordering, excellent packaging of item (better than a department store and a high fashioned brand that I ordered gowns from), easy return because return label was included. Would def order again from here

Not the same

Returned an item on the 17th December and it’s still in transit to the OUTNET..Customer service on the 12 February, he sounded unbothered, said l will receive a email but looks like the email is also in transit.You think you are getting a bargain until you try shopping around.

Useless promo is sent

I received promo code of an offer 15 % off to my favorite articles. It did not work as usual. I called client service because the code didn’t work, then passing over 20minutes, the lady of customer service first asked me to place articles in the cart, then she checking them with her supervisor, returning to me saying that the code cannot be used for articles in promo. But in the email I received nothing mentioned as such. She could have told me in the beginning of my inquiry before spending half an hour or the OUTNET could have specified as such before I spent an hour to look for my favorite articles. Other modest site does so. This site is not so honest with customer, very disappointing.

Poor quality for final price with inconsistent sizing
Don’t ever shot for final price it’s garbage with higher price than other places for that quantity
Also difficult ups service bc you have to sign for the package

Return and refund process worked well for me

I ordered a Zimmerman dress and shoes which I decided not to keep as the quality of the dress was not great. The collar was actually sewn on back to front with the back of the material on the outside and stitches showing. Not sure if it was a 2nd?? But even at the reduced price of £550 it was really not worth it.
I was very nervous about the returns process given the number of bad reviews on here. But just to give balance I sent the items back, had confirmation they had been received within a week and my full refund processed and received in one more week. So 2 weeks in total for full refund which I don’t think is bad really. I won’t use again given the quality issue and the expense but I wanted to give some reassurance to others about the returns process

Hi, I'm very disappointed to read the reviews, as I have been a customer for many years. Not quite sure where the problem is in some countries. Shipping is DHL in Australia, and their customer service is located in Australia and is excellent- maybe that makes the difference. When I need customer service, I call the 1800 number, and I have never been disappointed. Sizing can be frustrating; however, The Outnet sources from around the world, and some clothing labels run larger or smaller than standard sizes. I noticed today that the UK size 8 equivalent on my jacket appears to be a size 14. I am in the process of returning. I acknowledge that the return process has recently changed: a return number is required and must be requested by email. Good luck shopping.

All round perfect experience

I ordered a t-shirt and scarf I'd been eyeing up for so long. Both reduced down from RRP at such amazing prices. As I needed these quickly I decided to go for express shipping as it was only additional £5 on top of standard shipping.

I read the reviews below after placing my order and was really quite worried. However my order has just arrived within 2 days from Italy to the UK, with no hiccup from UPS. VERY well packaged and both items EXACTLY as pictured, no imperfections at all. I'm absolutely buzzing!

Return Nightmare – Felt Like I Was Working for OUTNET for Free

I am sharing my experience with THE OUTNET regarding my recent return, and it has been the most frustrating and stressful shopping experience I have ever had.

I returned an item in late November 2025. From the start, OUTNET issued an incorrect UPS shipment label, which caused delays. After sending the parcel, UPS could not release it because the return proforma invoice provided by OUTNET was incomplete. Despite UPS repeatedly contacting OUTNET, I received no proactive updates or solutions. My parcel was stuck in the UPS warehouse / customs for several weeks.

Over this period, I emailed and called at least seven different customer service staff, and still received vague or no updates. I even escalated to CS managers, clearly stating that OUTNET owes me money and I could take legal action. Honestly, I feel like I was doing OUTNET staff work for free, just to try and get my parcel released.

Eventually, I had to deal with UPS myself to ensure my parcel could be released. This entire process was unnecessarily complicated, stressful, and completely unprofessional.

In summary:
• Wrong shipment label / waybill issued by OUTNET
• Incomplete return proforma invoice delayed UPS release
• No proactive updates; I had to chase the company continuously
• Multiple emails and calls required with virtually the entire CS team
• Had to escalate to managers and handle UPS myself

This company is hopeless at handling returns. They create unnecessary delays, shift the burden to the customer, and show no accountability. I would never recommend OUTNET to anyone who values their time, money, or sanity.
