Fantastic support 3 years on !
I’m coming up to 3 years post op and the support from Tonic and their staff is still fantastic. The op and immediate clinical support was brilliant and I can honestly say it’s changed my life. However, one of the reasons I chose Tonic was because they continue to support you years down the line (at no extra cost !). I had a recent query and they came back to me with a solution and a call from my consultant within a day. I always recommend them to anyone considering this route to weight loss.

Exceptionally high standard of service…
I had my surgery in Cheadle at the end of May and Tonic provided an exceptionally high standard of service from beginning to end. The consultation with the surgeon, Mr Alkhaffaf, was so reassuring and comforting- he was down to earth, pleasant and very knowledgeable and experienced- I can see why he gets so many 5* reviews. The operation went smoothly and the nursing staff at The Alexandra were fantastic.
Post op - there was always someone at the end of a phone at Tonic to address any worries, questions or just to find out more information.
The weekly phone calls from my Dietitian, Lisa, were so encouraging and informative and she sent out recipe ideas for all the stages which were so useful; my allocated Nurse, Rebecca, was so helpful, supportive and answered all questions giving me that added security. I was also able to easily contact them if I had any questions in between times. Finally, the virtual Physical Trainer gave practical advice based on my individual needs and circumstances. There was also a Psychologist available should you need them.
I would highly recommend Tonic for this type of surgery - their care is second to none!

I have been with Tonic over 4 years, nothing is ever too much trouble. I reached out on Facebook recently to the group stating I was struggling, Louise contacted me to check I was ok, offer tools and also a chat anytime needed, don’t know any other company that would do this! Gastric Sleeve surgery
Since the first time I approached Tonic with my enquiry about having the gastric sleeve surgery and it now being nearly 4 weeks since my op, all staff have been very helpful,supportive and friendly throughout the whole journey so far and also my surgeon and the hospital staff were great looking after me whilst I was in hospital, I can not fault any of them or the Tonic staff. I would definately recommend Tonic, the Alexandra hospital and my surgeon Mr Bilal Alkhaffaf.

My experience with Tonic Weight Loss has been extremely disappointing.
I believe I was mis-sold a gastric band. Just three months after having it fitted, it eroded into my stomach, leaving me seriously unwell. I was admitted to hospital for four days and had to undergo emergency surgery to have the band removed.
I also paid for two years of aftercare, but in my experience I received little to no aftercare or support throughout the process. Following everything I went through, I requested a refund, but this was refused, which added to my disappointment.
This has been a physically, emotionally and financially difficult experience. I can only speak from my own experience, but I would not recommend this company based on how my case was handled.

Following your formal complaint, we carried out a comprehensive investigation, reviewing your complete clinical records, aftercare communications and your surgeon's clinical statement. Whilst we fully respect your right to share your experience, our investigation did not support the allegations that you were mis-sold your procedure or that you received little or no aftercare. Our records demonstrate regular support from our aftercare team, dietitian, nurses and your operating surgeon throughout your journey, with your care being appropriately escalated when your symptoms became acute.
As with all surgery, gastric band procedures carry recognised risks and potential complications, which were discussed with you during your consultation and accepted as part of your informed consent before proceeding.
Although your complaint was not upheld, we would like to remind you that your aftercare remains available. You still have access to our specialist dietitian, psychotherapist and fitness coach, who would be more than happy to continue supporting you on your ongoing weight loss journey.

I was 57 and completely depressed due to reaching 28 stone and waiting for my life to end.
Then I spoke to Tonic and it was so easy.
Had my operation on 15th September 2022. Everyone was friendly and put me at my ease.
Is it easy....no...but nothing worthwhile every is.
I am now 61 and under 13 stone and loving life.

I had my gastric sleeve surgery with Dr Coe at Tonic Surgery in Leeds on 23rd May 2024, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
From the initial consultation through to the surgery and aftercare, Dr Coe and the entire team were professional, supportive, and reassuring. They made me feel comfortable and well-informed throughout the whole process.
Since my surgery, I have lost over 9 stone, and I am absolutely ecstatic with the results. Not only has the weight loss transformed my appearance, but it has also greatly improved my confidence, health, and quality of life.

great process from start to finish the before and after care were amazing and the consultant was confident, re-assuring and spoke in plain English ! two years in and its changed my life and really glad I chose tonic to take the journey with. 7 stone off and its stayed off ! only downside is the cost of a new wardrobe !

I have had a really positive experience…
I have had a really positive experience with Tonic, from the very first interaction almost a year before my surgery date. The team have been extremely helpful, have been able to answer all my questions and put my mind at ease about making such a huge decision.
The pre-surgery support I thought was fantastic, a lot of paperwork to read through but the team were just a phone call or email away if I wanted to double check anything. And the surgery day itself went extremely well, and the hospital team were amazing. I am now nearly 7 weeks post op and still have regular contact with the after care team which has been great.

Amazing, professional team at Tonic!
Amazing team at Tonic. From the moment I decided that I would like to make a contact throughout my surgery and up to now - 5 weeks after the surgery was completed fenomenal communication. I was contacted by Cat shortly after completing the online form and she booked my phone consultation with the surgeon promptly and after that everything went quickly. I had all the email/phone consultations booked with the team and in almost no time I was ready for my surgery. Surgeon - Marco Adamo answered all my questions and explained everything very well.
The hospital staff was also amazing and extremely helpful.
I recommend Tonic to everyone who is considering bariatric surgery. You won't be disappointed.

Wonderful experience from word go
I went with TONIC due to their excellent reviews which confirmed how customer focused they were.
From the outset, the experience was great. Communicative, great customer service and resposinve to all my queries
I am inpatient in general and asked if they could let me know of any cancellations. I had a cancellation slot which gave me 12 days for my LRD.
Operation went well. Hospital and Consultant care was outstanding.
I have lost around 9 stone and never looked back.
The additional support post op isn't something that is offered on the same scale as when you go to Turkey and given 85% of my stomach was removed, i felt after care was essential to my recovery

My life has changed for the better!
I approached Tonic about in regard to surgery, questioning what would be the best decision for me. They were extremely friendly, welcoming and supportive during the decision process and didn't put any pressure on me at all.
I decided to book in and pay my deposit. I then had multiple phone calls discussing my relationship with food and how I was feeling with a very friendly, calmly spoken lady who helped me understand the reasons as to why I was struggling so much.
I also had a dietician on hand explaining to me how my life would be impacted long-term with lots of information, advice and guidance for post-op.
My operation went very smoothly (at Derby Royal), recovery was swift and with minimal pain and discomfort. I had multiple emails during my first week of recovery and also a phone call everyday which was fantastic. Anytime I was anxious about something during my recovery the team at Tonic were there for me to answer my questions and put me at ease.
I am now 4 weeks post-op and already feeling a drastic change to my health, weight and mindset.
Its a scary decision to make but one that will change your life for the better in the long-term. Trust the process, listen to the team and their advice and follow the program properly and you will see the benefits very quickly.

I had my Surgery in July 2025 . Best decision I made after lots of yo yo dieting in the past . I was developing health issues which was having an effect on our life and what I wanted to do with it . It is not an easy option and you still have to work hard but within six months my health issues disappeared and I haven’t looked back. The surgeon I had Mr Awad was thorough and put me at ease. The care from start to finish for me personally was fantastic. This is a tool to help regulate your weight and get it to where you need to be. Use to support that is available to you. I first contacted Tonic in August 2025…
I first contacted Tonic in August 2025 after a conversation with my GP about a Gastric sleeve. I spoke to the wonderful Lydia and she helped me through the whole process, I've a few medical conditions and didn't want to travel outside of the UK for the surgery. Lydia helped me with all the paperwork and no question was a bother for her. The whole team has been amazing from first contact to even now 4 weeks after surgery. I had my surgery on the 23/03/26 in Salford at the Oakland's hospital, My surgeon Mr Bilal Alkhaffaf was brilliant. I spoke to him twice on the phone and then the day of the operation. He reassured me and spoke through all my concerns, I felt really safe with tonic and the surgery went well with no complications. The after care team Rebecca, Lisa, Paula and Louise have been magical. They've been checking in on the phone and emails with me. Helping me throughout this whole process and any worry or concerns they've been on the other side of the phone straight away! This wouldn't have been possible with out you all! I'm four stone down since the operation and life has a completely different outlook now! Thank you all everyone at Tonic weight loss and especially Mr Alkhaffaf.
