1 year post surgery with Mr Awad and Tonic, the team have been very supportive over the year, always available to answer any questions i have had and motivate through regular catch up chats, facebook, instagram posts and YouTube.

Two years post surgery, band removed and bypass. Mr Dexter and the team in Leeds were amazing and fantastic aftercare from the hospital team and the Tonic team. So glad that I decided to go with Tonic.

Firstly, I'm am 11 months post op. I had my sleeve 1st August 2024. I totally regretted it at first,one I didn't have the best time in hospital and the first 6 weeks are very hard. 11 months on it is the best thing I have ever done.
Its definitely not a quick fix and you have to work on yourself everyday but you find new meanings to life. I have lost 6 stone. I feel that isn't enough compared to other people but its reminding myself that 6 stone is a lot. I have gone from size 22/24 to a 10/12.
There will always be ups and downs but it reaching out to the team when you need it. The team have been patient with me while I go through my own demons of ups and downs. It can be frustrating seeing other people losing more weight or sometimes you don't have a loss but thats ok. Everyone is different.
Thank you to tonic for helping me. My surgeon was amazing at Leeds. If I need help tonic are there straight away. It is hard with my working hours but they take the time to work around me and help where they can.

The Tonic team are just amazing!! From the initial phone call to the aftercare team everyone is so lovely and so understanding. I felt so at ease with my first phone call with Cat, I just knew tonic was the company for me. Mr Al-Taan my surgeon and his team are amazing!! I cannot express how kind, informative, friendly and professional the team at Tonic have been. From the minute I met Mr Awad, I felt totally confident in his hands. It’s a huge thing to have elective surgery, and for me, trust in the surgeon and the team was absolutely crucial. From the support team to the surgical team and nursing staff, I felt completely at ease. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, from helping me to change my life. It means the world to me, and my children.

The aftercare has been great. It put me at ease to know that I would have access to a dietician, a virtual personal trainer for two years and access tor the surgeon for five years.

I liked that the surgeon knew a lot about PCOS as it was the reason for the surgery. I felt heard.

The recovery after surgery itself was very tough for me but not for most. I was unlucky and was throwing up for 24 hours. I was in the worst pain of my life and therefore stayed in the hospital extra day.

The hospital room was nice. The nurses were sympathetic and friendly.

The surgery has changed my life for the better. I gained weight inexplicably over a short space of time due to PCOS and could not shift it without extreme dieting and over excercising. My other PCOS symptoms were horrible.

I went from a size 18 to a size 10 in 8 momths. My PCOS has reversed due to the surgery changing my hormones in ways general weight loss didn't. I am no longer insullin resistant.

Insomnia and migraines have gone. Added bonuses. I no longer need medication for PCOS or for migraines which I took daily.

I have much more energy and was able to use a kick scooter for an hour with ease previously after 2 minutes I was out of breath. Walking fast for 20 minutes or uphill no longer tires me out.

I wish I could have done this over 10 years ago. My life would have been different but better late than never.

My surgeon was Mr Adamo. He has done an amazing job.

Be warned that most lose their hair in the first six months fir severla months. I was fortunate and didn't. I assume it is because I had a lot less weight to lose than others. However I had no idea it was a possibility until after the surgery through a Facebook group and it stressed me out for months worrying when I would lose my hair and how long it would take to grow back.

I can tolerate nearly everything, dairy occasionally does not agree with me. I do not drink alcohol or fizzy drinks by choice. If you love that, this surgery might not be for you. I wasn't addicted to food so it hasn't felt as drastic as it might feel for others but it is by no means easy. The first three months was tough but it got easier each week.

It can be a challenge at times to fit enough fluid in because you have to wait 30 minutes after and before eating or you will be sick or you will ruin the work. I also can't eat more than a few rable spoons of cards at a time so it means I cant go to pasta or pizza restaurant or anywhere that does not have protein based starters.

My meal portions are small but I always feel stuffed.

I can now where anything I want. I couldn't wear skirts before as they hurt. I was too embarrassed to wear anything tight fitting because I looked pregnant. My fashion sense has completely altered as I used to shop simply to find baggy clothes that hid my stomach. The transformation is drastic.

I am back to my old self and my cycle is normal for the first time in my whole life.

It was worth every penny and I am really glad I chose Tonic. I feel like I have my life back and they gave me a lot of information before and after.

Tonic saved my life.Having Gastric sleeve surgery is one of the best decisions I have made.I felt supported from start to finish. I’m guessing you’re reading these reviews because you’re thinking of weightloss surgery? Well look no further - Tonic are your people! I decided to have a gastric sleeve and looked at every single option - including abroad…. My other half was insistent that I stayed in the UK so that was my decision made, the next was to look for a reputable company that supports their patients and I came across Tonic (amongst others). Tonic offered me so much more than any other company with regards to the post surgery support (which is when you really need it!) so I booked! I have never looked back - it’s been amazing, I’m down 6.5 stone so far and still on my path. You may think this review is a little bias as I have nothing to compare it with… well that is also where I can help! After my own surgery last March (2024) my friend decided to take the plunge too - but opted for Turkey and I was her plus one. Honestly - I was impressed at first, hospital lovely and clean but sadly that’s where it stopped - everything was done over Google Translate on mobile phones (!!!!) the anti sickness and pain meds were no way near as good as what I received and the WORST part .. she got her fit to fly letter BEFORE her surgery!! If I had my time again would I spend the money with Tonic? 100% without a doubt! If you are on the fence - do it ! And do it with Tonic!

I researched a handful of weight loss surgery companies and reviewed all of the services and support that they offered and Tonic were by far the superior choice with their incredible after care package. The level of support offered from their various professionals is incredible. The nurses, PT, psychotherapist and admin ladies all go that extra mile to make you feel cared for, listened to and understood. This is what set them apart from other clinics, the 5 years post surgery aftercare. The hard part for me was not the surgery, it was navigating my life afterwards and learning how to live again and the team of support that was available to me made this a success! I would recommend Tonic to anyone that is looking to explore weight loss surgery, their support post surgery is second to none and you will be successful for life if you utilise all the support options available.

My surgeon Mr Awad is fantastic. He had a lovely bedside manner and I couldn’t recommend him enough.
Burcot Hall Hospital was great. The post op follow ups were helpful. I have also found the FB group very supportive. I had my op in October 22. I’ve lost 5 stone and I am at my target weight. I haven’t been this slim since I had my first child. She is now 34.
I can honestly say it has changed my life for the better. Thank you Tonic

Having given it 2years of thought I decided to have bariatric surgery. Limited dieting success left me feeling like this was my last chance of a healthy lifestyle.
I opted for Tonic surgery and I am very pleased I did. From the initial phone call everyone was friendly and professional. I had my consultation with Mr Al Tan in mid February. Having agreed a date for my surgery (7th March). I began 2 weeks pre op diet. I lost 26lbs on this which was a great start.The surgery went very well and I travelled home the following day.Since then I have continued to lose weight and as I type this I am at 21st 12lbs. So 5stone gone already. I can higly recommend Tonic and everyone involved. It has given me a new lease of life...still a long way to go and its quite a learning curve getting used to portion sizes etc but there is always help/advice just a phone call away.

I am currently 7 weeks post op. I first contacted Tonic in February and spoke with Melissa within 24 hours, she was very attentive and listened to me and my history of always being overweight since a child. We agreed that she would give me a call in 3-4 weeks, so i could think about the options. True to word, she called me back and kindly arranged for an appointment with one of the Tonic surgeons, which took place within the week. The Surgeon (Mr Al-Tann) called me at the agreed time, again very informative, answered all my questions. Melissa called me the day after the consultation to see how things went with the consultation and my options for moving forward. I had already made my decision by her call, so I booked my surgery there and then, my consultation was the 17th March and my surgery was 5th April, (1 night stay in hospital) I didn't want to continue to keep gaining weight by waiting longer!

I am so impressed by the volume of calls, pre op and even more so post op, daily calls immediately following surgery, then to weekly and now i am monthly, but i have the option to book into Lisa the dietician diary as well as Harry the PT diaries at times that suit me and whenever i need support. I am delighted with so much aftercare, i really do not feel alone.
Since starting my journey, i have so far lost 1.5 stones, feeling so much happier, not hungry and am starting to feel the difference in my clothing now.

In all, I would not hesitate to recommend Tonic and have done to my friends and family! I just wish i had done this sooner!

I had my operation back in September 2024 and the last 7 months tonic have been there in every way with anything I have needed or any question I have asked. I picked tonic as I looked at there after care and it’s been great. I couldn’t fought the whole procedure from first speaking on the phone about what I wanted to the final operation date. You are given every bit of help to pick what’s right for you and told about every step along the way

I first engaged with Tonic at the tail end of 2024, working with Sarah was awesome, she made me relaxed and I felt I was in good hands.

Due to issues beyond their control I had my procedure postponed twice (medical diagnosis issue as well as an issue with CPAP machines), however the 3rd time was an absolute charm.

Tonic have been nothing but attentive, caring and responsive through out my engagement with them.

They've made a difficult procedure bearable, enjoyable, dare I say it, easy.

The surgeon I used was great, we went through the procedure, communicated and it made the whole thing just so relaxing.

Post Op support has been out of this world, unfortunately for them I had a very easy procedure, I didn't suffer with any post op issues and I sometimes felt like I was wasting their time when we spoke on the phone because "NOTHING" had gone wrong.

As I progress my journey I will shortly be working with their PTI and Dieticians and I have no doubt that the next stages of my life with Tonic will continue to be fulfilling.

I am 1 year post op and From start to finish tonic have been amazing, The care is next to none I have my life back and they made it as easy and as simple as possible they are always there on the end of the phone or email day or night,, I would recommend them to all my friends and family and have done hahha.

In my opinion, Tonic are the best weight loss surgery company in the business. From the start their professionalism, knowledge and care had been outstanding. The aftercare they offer is second to none, by far better than any other provider I’ve encountered or researched. Their team is always on hand with information and support. I’ve lost almost 8 stone with a gastric sleeve and maintaining successfully but know if I ever need guidance I can utilise the tools available especially the private facebook group and virtual PT. I’d recommend them to anyone who is looking for WLS.

Fantastic service. Luckily I've had no complications. The aftershaves team were great, they have always been easy to contact and go above and beyond to help you. I felt very safe and confident with this company, my surgery was in Burcott Hall with Dr Awad. My surgery date was 9th Sept 2023.
