Today

Today, our flight departed from Málaga to Brussels at 19:05 from gate D46. During boarding, we experienced extremely passive-aggressive behavior from Transavia staff responsible for ground handling.

Our backpack was allegedly 5 centimeters too large, and we were forced to place it in the sizing box or pay an additional €70. Two passengers behind us were less fortunate and had to pay €140. Notably, these same passengers had no issues with their bag size on their outbound flight to Málaga.

Another passenger, a woman who flies four times a week for work, stated that she had never experienced such practices before — not even with other airlines.

This felt like nothing more than a money-making tactic. Furthermore, when we told the Transavia staff member that his behavior was aggressive, he responded by saying: “The word aggressive? I can now deny you boarding for insulting staff.”

The purpose of this message is for Transavia to take this complaint seriously and ensure that the appropriate employees are addressed. This behavior is unacceptable, even for a low-cost carrier.

Totally silly behaviour with baggage…

Totally silly behaviour with baggage measuring

Was charged 70 eur because a bag ‘didn’t fit’ by about an inch on the top of the measuring thing (it fit on the other dimensions) and then pressurised into boarding without having a real chance to try repacking

Don’t fly with Transavia

Don’t fly with Transavia, especially with pets in the hold! Not only the flight was delayed, which can happen, but on arrival they left 4 kittens in 2 carriers alone and unattended for 3 hours!! Nobody to talk to at the airport! At 21:30, all offices were closed, nobody from the airline to find. We got helped from other airlines members, who finally found the kittens, abandoned next to an elevator. Never again!!

Please Bring Back the Ljubljana–Amsterdam Route!

I’ve always had great experiences flying with Transavia, which makes their recent decision to cancel the Ljubljana–Amsterdam (LJU–AMS) route extremely disappointing. This route was consistently full, well-priced, and offered a friendly, reliable service that many travelers depended on.

The replacement with KLM is nowhere near the same quality. They use much smaller planes, availability is constantly limited, and the atmosphere on board is far less pleasant. Overbooking issues are now common, and it’s become much harder to plan trips that used to be simple.

Transavia, please reconsider bringing this route back. There is clearly strong demand, and many of us truly preferred your service. This cancellation has made travel between Slovenia and the Netherlands far more frustrating than it used to be.

Never again

Unreal. Close to fraud. I had a small backpack and they made me pay 70 euros extra to get on the flight. It’s insane. Just pure exploitation and a horrible feeling. Never again.

Surprisingly Smooth Flight and No Baggage Issues at All

I was very nervous before my flights from Berlin to Paris and back because many reviews said Transavia strictly checks cabin bags and often charges extra fees, even if you’ve already checked in online.
But my experience was completely different.

I was so worried about my backpack being charged that I even bought an extra 20 kg checked bag for no reason. In the end, no one’s cabin bags were checked at all — not in Berlin and not in Paris. No passenger was fined, and everyone boarded easily without any issues.

Both flights were almost on time, with only a small 15–20 minute delay.

Overall, the baggage process was super relaxed, and my flights were much smoother than what the reviews had made me expect.

If you want to fly with frustration, surrounded by liars who won’t take responsibility for breaking your luggage or keep their promises

I recently flew with Transavia on flight HV5222 from Cairo to Amsterdam. I purchased an extra-legroom seat for €14, but due to adjustments made by the cabin crew, I was moved to a standard seat. I was assured by staff, both in person and via email, that I would be refunded the difference. However, Transavia has refused to honor this promise. Receiving conflicting information from staff shows a serious lack of accountability.

In addition, my checked luggage was returned with a crack wide enough for at least a finger. When I filed a claim, it was dismissed as “minor damage,” and no compensation was offered. This is completely unacceptable.

I requested that both cases be escalated to a higher-level supervisor, but the agent, ROMAIN, refused and stated that his decisions were final. The refusal to allow proper review, combined with inconsistent handling from different staff members, is deeply frustrating and unfair.

No more Transavia! The most lame airline EVER!

They tried to charge me for a luggage

They tried to charge me for a luggage. I had a luggage 20*30*43, and 4,2 kg, including wheels, and they wanted to charge me 70€ because it fitted but it was 3cm tall. I said ok, i can out my belongings to a plastic bag, and throw the suitcase, and then buy new for 20€ , why to pay 70? She insisted, i tried to break the wheels, but they had release button, so i travveled whith no extra charge. I have to say that they do it last hour , so you pay or you loose your flight.

If I could give 0 starts I would

If I could give 0 starts I would! They not only delayed my suitcase but then to find that my items from my luggage was stolen made things worse and yet they are not willing to refund anything. They claim normal everyday items should not be put in checked luggage incase it gets stolen... is this a joke!!! we pay for checked luggage to store our items whilst travelling!!! I will be taking them to court

I can't stand those companies that promise low-cost but charge you at every occasion possible.

They are incredibly petty with the luggage size and will make you pay for the cabin luggage anyways.

Only the experience is low cost, the price is definitely not!!

Transavia denial of refunding for flight cancelation

Last Sept my flight  HV-5630 from Mallorca to Amsterdam was cancelled and I had to stay on the island for an additional night.. After approving my bills for refunding, Transavia guaranteed me the refunding by early October and informed having refunded me by mid October. However, I have still not received anything. Upon my reiterated requests to Transavia to prove transfer of funds, Transavia refused, therefore denying any evidence that the transfer was actually made. Instead, they required me to come with a statement from the bank claiming that no funds were received which is absurd considering that it is the remitting party who must prove remittance and not the other way around

Left iPad on plane. Heard nothing from them

I flew with Transavia from Malaga to Paris Orly. When we arrived at our hotel I realized that I had left my iPad on the plane. I tried phoning them twice and on both occasions my call was cut off after about 5 minutes. I completed an online form giving them all the details of my flight. I also emailed them. I heard nothing at all from them. I have since had to buy a new iPad. Non-existent customer service.
