Claims handling & service outstanding...

When you're unfortunate to have an accident, it's only then that you see how well an insurance company/broker actually performs. I have to say my experience from the get go was 100% positive.

The claims handlers (4th Dimension) were sympathetic, kind and helpful at what was a particularly difficult time for me and moved my claim on speedily and efficiently without any drama. They were able to provide advice at all levels, pointing me in the right direction for different aspects of my insurance (helmet/leather claim, excess claim etc.) as I didn't realise more than one insurer was involved.

The speed at which my claim was resolved was nothing short of amazing and conducted without a single hitch. The reimbursement payments for the helmet/leather claim and the protected excess, were made within 2 days of me submitting them, with the full amount paid into my nominated bank account. Absolutely amazing service.

So in conclusion, am I happy I insured through BikeSure? You bet I am, and they have just got my renewal for a further year. I cannot praise all involved highly enough and I extend my thanks to all those I had occasion to deal with and speak to.

Prompt payout but really bad communication

On the plus side, I was paid out quickly and the claims process was surprisingly pain free (unlike the accident). But the reason I can't score higher is because communication is shockingly poor and they had to raise a second payment because whoever raised the first one made a mistake adding up, which only came to light because I called them and insisted on them giving me a breakdown over the phone. I've had no email or written confirmation about the claim even being successful, let alone anything to show the breakdown and award made. Frankly if I hadn't called them then I would have just received an incorrect amount in my account with no notice or correspondence whatsoever. So for those reasons, I can only rate the experience as adequate.

Disappointing Customer Service

Unfortunately we were involved in an accident 20/12/24. Third party crashed into the rear of our vehicle. Third party offered to repair and apologised, confirming liability. Reported to Trinity Lane via email contact form on day to request advice (no reply) and telephoned following day within 24 hours.

Expressed intention to claim on third parties insurance using Trinity to facilitate. Calls from several intermediaries, providing confused information and blurring the lines as to which company is actually dealing with our claim. Constant pressure to pay £600 excess before contacting third parties insurer prior to establishing liability.

I have explained that as a ‘no fault’ accident I am claiming on third parties insurance. If third party is not insured or disputes liability, the damage is not cost effective to claim on my insurance.

It’s now 9 days since accident and Trinity/Hadleigh have failed to demonstrate any empathy or resolution. Communication has been scant aside from efforts to extract payment for excess and numerous attempts to generate additional income via shared arrangements with intermediaries.

If a pedestrian is hit by a car, there is no requirement for the pedestrian to pay any excess. It shouldn’t be any different in the case of a ‘no fault claim’.

The majority of negative reviews on Trustpilot highlight the difficulty recovering paid excess from Trinity/Hadleigh following ‘no fault’ claims.

Approximately 59% of reviews on Trustpilot regarding Trinity/Hadleigh are 1 star reviews. Generally these receive a response from Trinity/Hadleigh requesting further information and no follow up on this forum.

To enable Trinity/Hadleigh to provide an explanation of their service on this forum, the reference is AUX690818**

If the third party that crashed into my car claimed from Trinity Lane, the Trinity Lane website states: “By accepting our services, you ensure that your no claims bonus remains unaffected. You won’t need to pay any excess”. Essentially, they extend a better service to people that aren’t insured by them.

If Trinity/Hadleigh refuse to pursue third parties insurer without first receiving payment for excess, I intend to complain to insurance regulators, Insurance Ombudsman and Mr James Wild MP for Kings Lynn where Trinity/Hadleigh have their registered office.

I will update this review when further information received so other consumers can follow progress.

Update: Reply from Trinity Lane requesting further information despite part reference given as above. If Trinity Lane respond to negative review and reviewer doesn’t respond within 3 days, review can be flagged and removed. Information provided. I am a verified reviewer. Please reply on Trustpilot.

Update: E-mail reply from Trinity Lane suggesting confusion relating to claim. Advised to claim on third parties insurance once liability and insurer details confirmed. Now 12 days since accident and this hasn’t been established. Advisor denies any pressure to claim on my insurance and pay £600 excess. Repeatedly advised Trinity Lane during numerous contacts that we wished to claim on third parties insurance. Advised to send any complaints to advisor to review. I imagine, if the advisor agrees with the complaint regarding his conduct, he will escalate. Throughout this time, all emails from Trinity Lane are unsigned.

Update: Reply to Trinity: The reference is correct. My name is correct. You can locate the claim using this information. I hope this is not a cynical move on your part to flag my review. Failure to respond to my reply will suggest it is.

Update: Reply to Trinity: My postcode is B** ***. Please advise me when you have used this information to locate record as I will delete it from this conversation as privacy implications.

UPDATED. Trinity Lane seem to be un-contactable

UPDATE 27/12/24.
After being contacted by Adrian Flux regarding my complaint and not so favourable review, it seems to have worked. Trinty Lane have now notified Adrian Flux that it has been settled as of the 23/12/2024. And as of 27/12/2024 now my NCB Certificate which had me being the as the fault driver and not the young lady who wrote off my Motorhome. Is now down as a NO fault, but I have to go via Auxillis to claim my excess back. Anyway my Thanks to Masie of Adrian Flux complaints dept for calling me today to find out what my concerns were. And meant to put my mind at rest. All that's required now is my EXCESS TO BE REFUNDED.
And Thank you to Trust Pilot for allowing me to vent my frustration in my review of Trinty Lane.

Trinity Lane seem to be un-contactable, Phone just rings and only other way would be to write to GENERAL MANAGER???
Or Contact your broker In this case Adrian Flux.
Accident occurred 16/9/24 motorhome was totalled by 3rd party who's insurance company was Hastings Direct. Trinty Lane wrote my motorhome off 23/9/24 and paid out but kept excess though I wasn't at fault and said it would return on settlement by 3rd parties insurance. Bought another van and went to insure to find I'd lost my NCB due to it not being closed? Contacted all companies involved to no avail till 5/11/24 when I put a formal complaint to Hastings Direct and received a call 22/11/24 stating the accident had been settled in full on the 1/11/24. After contacting Adrian Flux on numerous occasions and now 23/12/24 I have just been advised that it is still outstanding and still an open case???? Now All but Trinty Lane have means of emailing them or phoning in the U.K. but where are Trinty Lane (Gibraltar) International phone calls. OH and if you have a complaint write to their General Manager or contact your Broker or Ombudsman. When will this end. Be very wary of this company they seem to like passing the buck. And keeping excesses but will they refund it with interest as it will be gaining this in their bank.
