Horrible bank.
Poor customer service relations
If you need something, you can only talk to someone off shore. I find this practice deplorable. There is no customer service at Truist!
NEGATIVE stars took 3 payments out of our up…
- stars took 3 payments out of our up to date account told us it wouldn't happen again and said our bank account info was deleted but took money again from our account. Fast forward, no account access for them and sent them a principal payment and they took interest out of it 2 phone calls later and all they can say is it was done manually so we wouldn't see it on line but it was done. Now we have to request a full account history to make sure they arent screwing us elsewhere. Calling a lawyer.
Nightmare Location
I can only leave a review for the Bowie branch Laurel Bowie road.
The last three trips that I needed to use a teller inside was a nightmare. ALL three times I stood in line for at least thirty minutes. Two tellers, no drive through open, one teller tied up with a commercial deposit and the other dealing with customers that had an appointment. I've slowly moved my money to Capital one. If you need to do business with this location, bring a chair and a snack.

My mortgagor sold my mortgage to Truist. I had bimonthly payments sent up which needed to be done again with Truist. For the last 4 days I have been trying to do that on their website without success. Wait times to customer service personal have been as long as 58 min. The website is terrible.
They are the most customer…customer unfriendly
They are the most customer unfortunately bank I have ever come across and I am 76 years old. Don't waste your time with them. On dispute s they never take your side

I’m closing my account this bank is horrible what bank needs 7 business days to process a check? Totally unacceptable!!!
Most awful experience with a bank ever
Most awful experience with a bank ever. Got a $68k 20 year boat loan in 2023 and sent in the final payment for the amount shown on my last statement last month which is 17 years before the loan matures. Well guess what...I now owe $1254 more dollars even though the amount I sent in was the exact amount on the last statement. The customer service rep was obviously working in another country and kept me on the phone for over an hour trying to figure out why we still had a balance even though we paid in full. NO RESOLUTION!! I will never again work with this bank.
Truist Union road branch hasn’t…
Truist Union road branch hasn’t answered the phone in 6 Years why?
Yet the Dallas nc branch Answers the phone. Plus it’s hard to reach an American at ANY 800# until I reached a nice US Named ARTIE such a Nice man just now who helped me cancel my debit card & issued a new card
My husband died in 2017
My husband died in 2017. Thereafter, I mailed certified copies of his death certificate to various firms to remove his name from accounts, including Truist. Truist never removed his name. A few years later, Truist closed the account. Today (in 2026) my late husband received a $65.19 check for some sort of settlement. Calling Truist is a fruitless experience. Those people (when one can finally speak with a real one) are totally moronic and insensitive clods.
Worst bank every and getting worse…
Worst bank every and getting worse every day if that is even possible.
truist is the worst company
truist is the worst company. We have our mortgage through them, they make it really hard to schedule autopay unless you sign up for a bank account with them, and if you forget your password, god help you. They will ask you many questions about the account information that you can't access...because you can't...access....your account... because you forgot your password? Literally the worst company I've ever had to work with.
If you call their customer service, and their service agents can't help you. They'll ask *you* to call back to start a new session with them so that they can try again, they can't transfer you to a new agent or start a new troubleshooting session. A waste of time EVERY SINGLE TIME. I can't wait until I can transfer my mortgage to a different company.
This bank has allowed four fraudulent…Longtime customer
This bank has allowed four fraudulent withdrawals from my accounts. These were teller cashed withdrawals in another state, without appropriate identification. And now they are denying my claims and not re-imbursing my money. The worse banking experience of my lifetime! It has caused me many headaches and numerous unjustified charges. Never bank with them again!

We recently dealt with Alexis at the Truist branch in Cordova TN. She was amazing at dealing with my 87 year old mother on reopening another account after fraud charges. They are always so sweet and respectful to her and she just loves them and won’t go to any other branch. Alexis was so sweet and made it such a pleasurable experience. So much that when we left my mom said well that was fun. Lol Give Alexis a big raise because you do not need to lose her.
I thought it was just me
I thought it was just me, but after reading other reviews, I realize my concerns about this bank are valid. The customer service is awful. They rely heavily on overseas representatives, which often creates a language barrier and makes resolving issues even more frustrating.
Because of the communication challenges, it’s difficult for them to fully understand my questions, and as a result, they sometimes come across as unconcerned. It often feels like they are simply reading from a script rather than actually trying to help.
I don’t blame the employees—I blame the bank for the way their customer service is structured. After being with this bank since 2014 or earlier, I’ve decided to switch banks, even though I know it will be a hassle.
Overall, this has been a very disappointing experience.
BEWARE! TRUIST HOLD THE CHECK DEPOSITS
I’m currently facing significant financial difficulties and experiencing issues with my checking account at Truist Bank in Florida. I deposited a check for $1,620 last week, and the bank is holding it for a week, leaving me without funds. I specifically chose an account that doesn't penalize me for overdrafts. However, the bank states they're holding the check because I overdraft frequently. I currently have a negative balance of $26 and struggle to cover necessary expenses such as car payments and gas. Is it legal for the bank to hold my check under these circumstances, and do I have any grounds to sue them for this hold?
THE WORST BANK!
THE WORST BANK!! Stay away! This bank will slap 10 day holds on in your deposits, for no reason customer service a complete joke, they are deceptive, abusive to customers and could care less I lodged a CFPB complaint due to deceptive and customer abuse as it relates to EVERYTHING!! Especially taking advantage of customers on deposit holds junk bank should be shut down. Beware go anywhere else or suffer the unfair wrath of this joke of a bank. Let’s hope the CFPB involvement can make this junk bank stop taking advantage of customers local check 10 day hold with ridiculous reasons the check will be clear in 2 days but they flex their muscle. Deceptive due to not telling you of such a ridiculous hold till after you deposit then it’s too late I have a few banks and would NEVER have deposited at Truist if they were more transparent on the issue, now I’m out of luck and trust me they don’t care. They told me to refer to some ridiculous page on account opening papers yeah ok… scumbags
Truist Bank is the absolute worst bank
Truist Bank is the absolute worst bank. They practically steal from you by withholding your checks even after they clear. Do not bank there unless you want to be treated like garbage
Lack of American customer service
Two weeks ago, called to file a report on a check we couldn't tell who cashed it. The foreign lady didn't speak very good English. She said she filed a report. I called back, a foreign guy said she had. We heard nothing. I did a chat online, the lady left the chat. I called got a lady in Phillipines. She is going to send a request for us. Terrible customer service.
I called the fraud number and they will do nothing
I called the fraud number and the agent just said nothing could be done. She would not answer my questions. She had a script in front of her. I was a loyal SunTrust customer which became Truist. Now I need to change banks. Worst customer service ever.
