Wasted four hours of my life trying to book a flight. Their website is completely incompatible with different devices and browsers and I was on hold waiting for an agent for two hours. Only persisted... See more

Turkish airlines are the worst airline…
Turkish airlines are the worst airline I've ever flown with and we have flown a lot!
Their customer service is appalling the cabin crew were rude the ground handling completely unhelpful. Then when we had a delay they refused to pay what we were owed after six months dispute they paid only half. Please if at all possible NEVER fly with them. T
Terrible treatment at boarding in Shanghai
I took a flight from Shanghai. The check-in staff confirmed our hand luggage was ok, however, when boarding the plane they made us discard our personal things due to overweight. We had cameras and laptops in our personal item bags, which were obviously heavy but the check in staff didn't weigh them and told us it's alright. The boarding staff was extremely rude. Never had such an experience with any airlines before. The customer service only referred to the general luggage allowance rules and never addressed our actual complaint about the inconsistent information provided to us by their staff, which caused us a lot of stress and money loss. Very disappointed in the airlines that claim to be one of the best ones.
Warning to Future Passengers
Warning to Future Passengers
My complaint is not about a refund. My complaint is about a serious communication and system failure.
Turkish Airlines cancelled my flight, yet I was not informed for six days. During that period, I received no effective notification that my journey would not take place.
Even more concerning, approximately 23 hours before departure, the airline’s system allowed me to complete online check-in and assigned me a seat. Any reasonable passenger would assume that a flight is operating normally if check-in is open and a seat has been allocated.
If the flight had already been cancelled, why was check-in available? Why was a seat assigned? Why was I not informed immediately? Why was I forced to continue my travel preparations based on inaccurate information?
Instead of receiving clear answers to these questions, I have repeatedly received responses focused on ticket refunds, while the airline avoids addressing the actual issue.
This experience caused unnecessary stress, wasted time, disrupted travel plans, and a complete loss of confidence in the airline’s communication process. Passengers deserve accurate information, especially when a flight is cancelled.
Until Turkish Airlines explains how a cancelled flight could remain open for online check-in and seat assignment, I cannot recommend this airline based on my experience.
Garbage customer support and booking
My main issue stems from their refund process and customer support.
I think it mostly derives from very very poor procedures, in my case Turkish airlines agreed on a manual refund, however since this was for my girlfriend's ticket, they have been refusing to make the payment and requesting more and more documentation even though the payments itself came from my credit card. this alone is nonsensical to say the least.
Now the process is ongoing and we are trying to have the money returned to my girlfriend's account instead, however this has been going on for 4 months and counting.
Secondly, the booking information they provide on their website is difficult to find and can cause issues like the above.
So the issue here being my girlfriend's name is too long and doesn't fit the available field, we had the current problems:
1) the information on how to write does exists but is not in the place where needed.
2) when asking customer support for help, they would force the field but this would block the booking process as, go figure, the character limit was exceeded.
3) Calling their customer support they did point to a webpage with the correct information.
4) calling customer support for other reasons, eg related to the refund, they would only give you information available on the website and no real further support
5) calling them directly in istanbul doesn't work as they won't provide support.
6) I somehow managed to get an email to their sales department in Italy and yet again, they do not offer support and simply ghost you.
7) the ticketing process is insane, the issue is never handled by the same person and you get stuck in loops where support is not truly provided.
Overall, I believe all of this stems from very very poor management and procedures, I won't take it on the staff itself as they are surely instructed to follow the rules, this is purely incompetent management.
I understand others have been having similar issues and given the rate here on trustpilot, it's also pretty certain they have an awful auditing process.
You deserve better..
Nothing to really add to what has already been described in the other reviews.
When things work its fine but if you actually need assistance the customer service is nonexistant. They simply dont care and i feel they are just used to cancellations and so jaded they are no longer have any sympathy for its customers.
This extends to the call centre, gate staff, flight crew and anyone else in between. They simply dont care and find it hard to understand why you should complain about cancelled flights or have to spend over 12 hours in an airport with small kids going from queue to queue (careful what queue you are in as they will just say they cant help and to go to another queue).
Things go wrong from time to time but its how we deal with these matters that seperates the best from the worst.
Simply avoid unless you like standing in long queues and sleeping on chairs.
Very disappointed
Very disappointed. Couldn’t get my money back even though I provided them with all the documents they needed.
Turkish Airline lost my luggage
Turkish Airline lost my luggage. I filed a complain online to locate my luggage but all I am getting is automated email. No real person to talk to. No updates on email. Never again. Avoid this Airline at all cost.
I booked my flights and paid for seats
I booked my flights and paid for seats. Twice in a raw, Turkish Airline cancelled my selected seat and randomly allocated lower class seat. I contacted the customer service to get refund but they rejected. The overall service has significantly deteriorated. Its not the same Turkish Airlines. The customer service is terrible. Staff is rude.
Pathetic System
Pathetic customer service,
My mother flight airplane changed we got notification. But when we try to download ticket with new seat number there is no option, neither customer service can send the new ticket PDF. What the F.. kind of service is this..
I use to like Turkish Airlines
I use to like Turkish Airlines, but lately i am very disappointed especially with the line form denver to istanbul, me and my family got scattered all over the plane and it left almost an hour later then the normal time, for sure that was my last time on this airline 😡😡
The hardproduct like seats and…
The hardproduct like seats and airplanes are solid and Even the old Business Class in a 2-2-2 configuration is still ahead of some new products. The Lounge in Istanbul is really good. Service on Board, Food and amenity kits are above average. Coverage of routes is one of the best Airlines. If it comes to Customer Hotline, Chat or Service at the ground it is a nightmare. You wait for a reply hours! Almost non existent. The App is almost useless and do Not Show easy seatselection and Never Shows your specific luggage allowance. Poor!
Turkish Airlines Horrible Experience
We are extremely disappointed with our experience with Turkish Airlines.
We purchased round-trip Business Class tickets from Egypt to Denmark. After deciding to extend our trip by a few days, we paid a substantial fee to change the date of our return flight. At no point during this process were we informed that our Business Class seats would be removed.
Only later, when checking our booking, did we discover that Turkish Airlines had downgraded us to Economy Class without any notification or consent. As repeat customers of Turkish Airlines Business Class, this treatment is especially disappointing and unexpected.
When we contacted customer service, we received contradictory explanations. One representative stated it was a system error. Another claimed that we had somehow downgraded ourselves, despite having paid a significant amount to change the booking. We were even told that we should have made the change through the call center instead of using the Turkish Airlines website. If customers are not supposed to use the online booking system, why is it offered as a service?
We have repeatedly contacted Turkish Airlines through customer service, local offices, and the feedback form process, yet no meaningful resolution has been provided. Instead, we are being asked to pay an additional substantial amount to regain the Business Class seats we originally purchased.
What makes this situation even more concerning is that one of the passengers is seriously ill and requires the additional comfort, space, and care provided by Business Class. Traveling in Economy Class is not a reasonable option given their health condition.
After reviewing EU passenger rights regulations, we understand that involuntary downgrading of passengers without proper compensation is contrary to established passenger protection rules.
We are simply asking Turkish Airlines to do the right thing: either restore our original Business Class booking or provide a full refund of the affected tickets and fees associated with this downgrade.
We hope Turkish Airlines will take responsibility for this situation and resolve it promptly and fairly.
Debited for Failed booking TK-14279604
I tried to make a booking, turkish airline displayed booking unsuccessful and still charged money when no booking. I have written them for months but they have refused to issue a refund. Zero booking, zero booking confirmation, they confirmed it was an error and a mistake that I got debited but still no refund. Its stealing at this point because I waited patiently for 3months already. Feedback registration Number: TK-14279604. I do not want a voucher, I simply want a full refund because no booking was made but you debited my card.
WARNING!! Scam company
WARNING!!! WORST airline in the world!!!
First of all, their customer service is basically non exisent and they keep making you run in circles!! We made a booking last year DIRECTLY through Turkish Airlines and they made a mistake on our booking and took NO accountability what so ever! We spent months trying to fix it- endless bullshit feedback forms, calls and even went to the airport to talk to them in person! They kept saying they would fix it and never bothered too. So we had to cancel our ticket out of our own pockets for a mistake on their end! Also there is no one higher up to talk to- no managers, supervisor etc they always tell you to fill out another feedback form.
They essentially dragged out our issue for 7 full months and we spent almost everyday trying to fix it.
What an absolute scam of a company.
Bad experience
Bad experience. They didn't provide my specially booked meal and by the time they reached my row the food options were finished. When raised the concern with crew they were rude and said we can't help and you can complain. Will not fly with Turkish again. This was the experience on their premium sector from San Francisco not sure what experience they must be giving to other non premium sectors
Absolute negligence
Absolute negligence, terrible service, and violation of passenger rightsI rate my experience with Turkish Airlines as a total failure and complete negligence. My luggage was delayed for 4 days, forcing me to pay out of pocket for emergency clothing and hotel accommodations just to get by. To make matters worse, when my suitcase was finally delivered, it was completely broken. The airline's response is an absolute insult: they refuse to reimburse my expenses and evade responsibility by claiming that "these things just happen normally." This is a blatant violation of my rights as a consumer and traveler. I strongly warn future passengers to avoid flying with this airline; their customer service is non-existent, and they will leave you completely stranded when they make a mistake.
Our experience with Turkish Airlines…
Our experience with Turkish Airlines has been extremely disappointing, and I believe other travelers should be aware of it.
In January, we purchased four tickets from Nuremberg, Germany, to Guayaquil, Ecuador, for myself, my partner, and our two daughters. The trip had been planned for months.
About a week ago, Turkish Airlines sent us an email informing us of a schedule change. The change was only five minutes, but we were told that we had to accept it within 48 hours. We tried to do so on three different occasions, but the link provided by Turkish Airlines did not work. The page would simply freeze and never complete the process. We also tried through their website and other available channels, but nothing worked.
As the deadline approached, we spent hours trying to contact customer service. Nobody answered our calls. The only representative we managed to reach told us that the entire itinerary had been changed and that we would receive a refund. We then sent several emails to Turkish Airlines asking for assistance, but we never received a response.
When we finally managed to speak to someone again, this time in Turkish, we were told that because we had not confirmed the change within 48 hours, there was nothing they could do. As a result, we lost all of our flights.
What makes this situation even more frustrating is that we found the exact same flights we had originally booked still available for sale, but now at nearly three times the price.
As customers, we feel completely let down. We did everything possible to comply with their request, but their systems did not work, their customer service was unreachable, and our emails went unanswered. After months of planning a family trip, Turkish Airlines showed no willingness to help or provide a reasonable solution.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Turkish Airlines. A company of this size should provide reliable customer support, functional systems, and fair treatment for its customers.
Do not recommend at all, especially if you are even remotely tall.
Turkish Airlines Economy:
Where they somehow manage to fit a substantial folding metal footrest into a space designed for the legs of folded up garden gnome.
Where you can use the app and it doesn’t tie in your smiles and miles account.
Where you have to pay to select a seat.
Where you need the strength of a gorilla to make the screen work.
Where the back rest for anyone over 6 foot isn’t long enough to avoid the head rest - in their A330 is is a shoulder blade rest even when it’s fully up.
Next time I go to the CIS, will fly over turkey to the Middle East and enjoy the comfort available on other airlines even if it takes a few more hours.
Booked and paid for extra legroom seats…
Booked and paid for extra legroom seats which weren’t cheap 10 months before the flight. The flight got changed 4 times and every time my seats were lost so I had the hour phone calls every time to get reinstated .Then 4 days before my return flight the seats were changed meaning g my husband and i couldn’t sit together for a 13 hour flight which was the whole point of paying for them.I filled out the online feedback form to ask for compensation and I have received a txt to say it’s been resolved and to check my email.Surprise surprise no email so I don’t know what’s been resolved. Also the inflight meals were really not good.I would never fly with them again
Rubbish in-flight service with Turkish Airlines
This is the second of my reviews of my recent experiences with Turkish Airlines. Although it is some time now, I have now decided to review our experience with the meal offerings on a Turkish Airlines flight (TK1977 from Istanbul to Dublin, on Saturday April 25). We were in Business Class and expected the meal and service to be exemplary. It wasn’t. Although the Business Class cabin was almost empty, my choice of meal was not available. The staff claimed they had run out. So they went back to the Economy Class cabin and found a meal. Cold rice and a cold chicken schnitzel. Nowhere near the Business Class meal I had expected. While we did receive a wine with the meal, at no point after that were we offered another. In fact, after our meal tray was taken away, that’s the last interaction we had with the staff. No further offerings of wine. No offering of water. No “how are you enjoying the flight; is there anything else we can offer you?” Nothing. Very disappointing. It seemed the staff were more interested in chatting amongst themselves in the galley than attending to the few Business Class passengers in the cabin. I realise that we could have got their attention and asked for something we needed, but that really is not what flying Business Class is about. It is about receiving good attention from the staff and good food, and being made to feeling special. After all, we paid for it. None of that happened on this flight. I should have read more TrustPilot reviews before using this airline. There are numerous 1 star reviews. And Turkish Airlines hasn’t responded to any of them. Not one. In fact, they fobbed me off when I provided feedback directly to them. They claimed they cannot provide enough meals of each type because of weight! What a load of rubbish. The Business Class cabin was about a third full, yet they couldn’t provide two choices of meals for the few of us in Business Class? Because of weight? BS. This isn’t Business Class at all. My recommendation? Don’t fly with Turkish Airlines. I won’t fly again with this airline.
