When you need support

When you need support, the Tutoroo team are very responsive and give great follow-up. You know there's a human at the other end of the keyboard and that, for me, marks them way above other platforms. They also have great students who are more engaged than on other platforms.

Tutors don't show up

Started off good, when they referred me a bunch of English tutors for my father in law. Turns out none of the tutors were vetted. It's been 3 months and the tutors recommended didn't show up for scheduled lessons. They also STOOD BY their no-refund policy unless there are no available tutors. After spending 3 million IDR with them, and 0 lessons in the past 3 months, I would expect a refund for not getting what we signed up for.

What a wonderful tutor

What a wonderful tutor! Catarina is so patient and attentive, helpful with grammar, idioms, verb tenses, and ease with conversing. I highly recommend her. I have visited Lisboa often, and it's fun to talk to her about her city.

🌟 A Wonderful Experience So Far

Although TUTOROO knew that I didn’t have any reviews or ratings when I first joined, they've truly exceeded my expectations. From the beginning, the team has been incredibly supportive and proactive in helping me get started. They’ve already connected me with at least three potential students, which speaks volumes about their commitment and dedication.

I’m genuinely happy with the experience and feel that TUTOROO really cares about both their tutors and their students. I'm excited to keep growing with them and would definitely recommend their platform to others who are passionate about teaching.

Tutoroo will ghost you istead of…

Tutoroo will ghost you istead of refund.

I was supposed to get a refund. Tutoroo first started to make things longer and the process harder. But I did not stop. I kept reminding. They accepted that I have the right for the refund. It took months, they run out obstructions. They asked me for my Paypal account. The communication got ghosted. Few times they replied, that the refund is taking longer then expected and than they ghosted me. It was several years now. I still ocationaly remind them, but there is completely 0 reaction now.

UPDATE: (reaction to response): Thank you. The first time the case was transferred to the team was in November 2023. Since then there was barely any progress. Let´s see this time. Thank you

UPDATE 7.8. Almost 3 weeks and no progres :(
UPDATE 6.9. (2 month after the post) another month and despite Tutoroo´s promises here, nothing happened
UPDATE. 19.10. no progress. "The team is still handling the issue" but no longer communicating
UPDATE 4.1.2026: Years come by, tutoroo reaction remains stable -> zero.

Anna Ukrainian Tutor

I selected Anna based on her experience and current professional role. She proved to be a great tutor and demonstrated a lot of patience when I struggled with aspects. If I had one criticism it would be that at times I felt the pace of the subjects was a little quick. That may however be down to how Anna felt I was progressing. Unfortunately I had to stop my lessons due to my schedule demands, but would not hesitate to use Anna as my tutor again once I restart lessons.

Tutoroo helps both students and tutors. I am a teacher and tutor and Tutoroo has given me the opportunity to set my own schedule, advance my teaching skills, gain experience and most of all help others. My students are really enjoying their lessons. Tutoring helps students address specific weaknesses, helps them gain confidence, they receive individualized support and the sessions are flexible and lessons are conducted when it's most convenient for both the student and the tutor. This keeps us relaxed and the lessons are more productive. Thank you Tutoroo for this amazing opportunity and for doing a great job.🌹

Stay away from Tutoroo

I wanted to use Tutoroo to find a private Spanish teacher and therefore paid 540 DKK/83 USD to Tutoroo. I was then put in touch with a mentor and agreed on a date for my first lesson, after which communication stalled. I tried several times to make an agreement about which time of day we should meet, but I got no response.
Later I was contacted by a new mentor and same thing happened. We agreed on a date, but I got no answer when I asked for exact time.
I have tried to communicate with Tutoroo to get my money back, but they tell me to try a new mentor.
My experience is that the platform is cumbersome and opaque, and that you easily risk losing your money.
