My son resided at Northlodge unite students accomodation for one term. During this period we had serious issues with safe guarding and the accomodation cleanliness was disgustingly. We witnessed contractor cleaners cleaning work surfaces without detergents and the kitchens were beyond acceptable levels of usefulness. He was moved to another room, but the contract cleaners were using the kitchen to cook their food and sleeping in some of the rooms, so this move was delayed. However, The kitchens and communal areas were just as bad. We felt Our complaints were not acted on and didn’t receive acknowledgement for some of them. To this degree my son didn’t feel comfortable or happy and didn’t feel safe and withdrew from university. We’re in the process of requesting a refund but have yet to receive this. I would strongly advise looking at alternative accomodation before you make a decision to send your loved one here!
Mohmoud, we’re constantly contacting customer services about the refund. However, unite have yet to send a link to enable us access to this. It feels like delay tactics!
From our experience Complaints are not taken seriously or acknowledged and it appears that this is a common trait reading many other bad reviews.

I rent with unite as a mature student. I get the maximum student finance amount, £3447.00. The rent is £3366.00. For a small room, in a building infested with silverfish and laundry services that are both expensive to use and don't work well at all, often requiring two dryer cycles. The local staff are the only saving grace, who have managed to make them spread the payments more equally, as the first was insane, the second and third very low. I got it evened out to 3,366, 3,366 and then 1600. This is because the idiots at the finance department decided that I need money for the summer...When I actually have time for a job but that I don't need money during term...when I'm busy studying, I asked them all to be equal but apparently they decided I can live on £80. Next year It will cost more than the finance. Screw the students I guess, because they are.

My daughter swapped rooms recently and the property team at Leeds handled this really well and also kindly agreed to price match the original room, which was excellent service.
However the trouble started when Unite's finance team became involved.
I started to receive a number of differing payment schedules via email that suggested the December payments would be much higher and would be taken quicker than agreed. When I raised my concerns over these with customer services (I was not allowed to contact finance myself) I was told I could ignore them and it was "just how the booking system worked sometimes". I was assured the payments would be in line with the original agreement.
Upon checking my December payment, instead of the £1.1k I should have paid I was horrified (but not altogether surprised) to see I had been charged £2.3k in total!
Numerous emails and phone calls later I cannot speak to anyone able to confirm if a refund will be forthcoming.
I am told that the finance team are not customer facing (and I do understand this as I run a large finance team myself) but their dreadful communication and failure to properly comprehend and take my issue seriously is frankly appalling.
In this case they should adhere to my many requests for them to talk to me directly rather than hiding behind customer services. If it was my team making such a mess of things as they have, I would ensure we acted with professionalism and courteously by dealing with the customer direct.
They have succeeding in bringing down the rest of the excellent team as a result of their basic lack of care.
So now all I can do is sit and wait to see if anyone has the decency to contact me regarding an issue I raised nearly three weeks ago.
It also looks like I will be out of pocket to the tune of £1.2k just before Christmas. Thanks for that Unite finance team and a Merry Christmas to you too.

my daughter has been staying at stratford one since September and still has no heating. mould on walls and shes bought all her clothes home smelling of damp. paying over 350 pw . they keep telling her they will bring a heater up to her room and haven't. made numerous complaints and sent email and they can't be bothered to reply. next will be reporting them to housing standards. don't stay here it's really bad. lifts broke down and for four days had to walk up and down 21 flights of stairs. no compensation offered for the lack of heating or hot water. they continue to take over a grand a month .also my daughter clothes were ruined after the washing machine leaving doety marks all over them. reception told us it's down to the washing machine company to service them and the company said its stratford ones responsibility they shud be keeping on top of the maintainance of them . would be better off renting a private flat than staying here. won't be back next year.

Complete scam. They ask you to remove negative reviews. Already reported them to trustpilot. I spent around 18 months at the Aston Student Village accommodation in Birmingham (specifically Mary Sturge). The kitchen was a nightmare in the first flat. My flatmates were even worse. I was forced to live in hazardous conditions where the fridge had mould in it for months. The management doesn’t help at all. Davinder Sanghera who is the manager is a joke. Definitely stay away from this place. The university (Aston) is no better as it seems that they share a symbiotic relationship with this fraudulent company.

It's been a month since school started, and the elevator in the apartment hasn't been fixed.

Ashamed as they put me in a difficult dilemma as they know I can’t afford it and have multiple health issues physical and mental and still threaten to take me to court to pay even though I’m no longer living in there as I haven’t provided a replacement.

I am beyond speechless.
How are staff memebers walking into my room without knocking on the door?!
I have been promised by some staff members that I would get a girls only room but they put me into mix and now they won’t let me cancel my tenancy agreement!
I had multiple panick attacks and a seizure just recently and I require to move back home and they won’t let me go cause of the flipping tenancy policy?! I am ill and I need to move back home. Heartless people!
I even provided them a replacement and they said she ain’t Suitable cause she lives in Mary sturge. The girl that wants a replacement is having issues with her flatmate why wouldn’t you let her move out?
They have no manners, they are incredibly rude!
I give it a one star because the only person that seemed incredibly helpful was Aneeqa.
Thanks to her but it’s such a shame with the rest of the team.

Staffs are friendly, the environment is clean and tidy, but the washing machine is a bit expensive

My experience has been good. My main problem is the laundry, there are 24 floors in this building so many people live in it, yet the laundry room is smaller than our kitchen. It is very hard to find available laundry machines sometimes and really messes up your schedule. Other than that, I haven’t had any groundbreaking issue living here, it has been a pleasant experience.

Amazing experience with Unite Students. Liberty Park is an excellent place to live.
People who are working here are always on their highest professional quality - they are kind and efficient in the same time which is very rare. Facility managers are giving their best efforts to achieve satisfacting solutions if anything coming up to surface. I am sending all my appreciation for Megan and for Mandy who are fabulous managers always ready to help. Engagement and variety of events going on in Liberty Park is mind blowing. It's truly great place to live.

Exceptional Care and Genuine Support from Chantelle!:)
I had the pleasure of meeting Chantelle, a staff member at Adam Street Gardens, and she truly exemplifies what it means to care for students. Chantelle is not only genuine and authentic, but her caring nature goes above and beyond what one would expect. She always ensures the well-being of everyone around her, safeguarding students with a level of attentiveness that makes you feel truly looked after.
One particular instance that stands out is when she noticed someone in need, low on food, and living in the residence. Without hesitation, she made sure they had something to eat, demonstrating that her kindness isn’t just part of her role—it’s who she is. Her willingness to go out of her way for others, even in small ways, shows the kind of person Chantelle is: thoughtful, compassionate, and reliable.
If there’s anyone at Adam Street Gardens who deserves recognition for making a positive difference, it’s Chantelle. Her actions reflect the core values of what it means to be truly supportive in a student community.
Thank you, Chantelle, for everything you do!

When we arrived in the accommodation, the kitchen was dirty every thing was messed up in kitchen, i think no one look after the kitchen. There were some issues of kitchen for example the oven was not working, the drainage of kitchen sink is also block. The dustbin was full of garbage that the garbage was founded on floor. The sofa, chairs and table surface was covered with dust.
Over corridor was also no clean that we can feel the dust on floor. And there were also some damages in my room.
I was not expecting this from the north lodge team. So kindly help me out to resolve this issue because they had negative impact on the image of united student north lodge.
Thanks in advance if you manage all these issue.
