Horrible customer service.
Horrible customer service.
Incomplete installation.
They amend your contract on their own with additional services and you have to actively cancel them.
Absolutely NOT recommended.
Absolute horrible customer service
Absolute horrible customer service! They are straight out rude. Stay away if you are an expat living in Germany.

Was promised a 100 euro voucher upon signing the contract. I send several emails to Unitymedia asking for the voucher, but they didn't respond to any of them. Worst customer service ever.
Stay away people for your own sake!!!
Stay away really this is my advise STAY AWAY...!! The worst believe me the worst internet service provider and customer service I’ve ever experienced... this is one of the few things I regret in my life ... signing a contract with them... Out of no where you have no internet connection, then you try to call them and waiting there for 30-40 MINUTES GUYZ they are unbelievable!!! If you are lucky someone will pick up the phone ... otherwise try again later!!! When they do answer then it starts the good part .... if they can’t do anything remotely and a technician has to come to your house... you have better chances of bringing the rain while praying in the middle of a desert rather someone comes to your apartment... I just called them again today after 2 days of trying to reach them and FINALLY a girl pick up the phone and while I was talking she puts the line on hold and after she Hangs up the line!!!!She is lucky I didn’t hear her name because I swear to god I would find her and make her chew the phone device like a gum!!!! Do you believe this??? This is UnityMedia ... Really I hope I have better luck with the cancellation process of my contract...
Just a disappointed customer in Frankfurt!!
Kafkaesque
Extraordinary level of incompetence, with multiple inconsistent letters generally demanding money, with no connection to the telephone operatives, when sorting out my mums estate. Sadly this entirely matches her experience as a customer when still alive. If you're Anglo Saxon you may be tempted to put this down to German bureaucracy, but believe me, is on another level altogether,. Beware!
A total disgrace, pure scam
A total disgrace. The most lousy, greedy and incompetent Internet provider I had in 15 years.
Every month the connection goes dead for three to four days, and not once did I hear a warning or a word of apology. Au contraire, they made sure to raise the subscription cost half way through.
The customer service is the proverbial brain-dead cookie-cutter, it is totally pointless to ask for help.
When I did the mistake of upgrading my plan, in hopes of a better service, they never send me the enhanced modem I paid a fee for. And, of course, the service did not improve a bit.
Latest update: 23 days without connection in eight months. They are massively in breach of contract yet they ignore every communication, and even my registered letters go without answer. It is impossible to get rid of them. You must pay even if they provide no service. I now must hire a lawyer, because there is no other way to get out of this scamfest.
Avoid them at all costs.
More than 5 days offline
More than 5 days offline, no tech support, even when online I go offline very frequently for at least an hour. When I come back online it's horribly slow. They also cheated on the contract - said I could cancel when it expires. Then I went 2 weeks before the deadline to terminate the contract, turns out there's a clause saying I have to come a month before (or something like that), so they auto-extended for a year. Worst company in every possible way.
5 days with our internet
5 days without internet! The customer service is the worst service in the world!!!!!! 30 min waiting each time and nothing! Only fake promises.
Really I wish I had never signed a contract with this company!
I'm yet to deal with swindlers of the …
I'm yet to deal with swindlers of the calibre of UnityMedia to date.
Too much to delve into, but I'll list a few of My complaints:
- Before you've effectively signed a contract with them, they all will be speaking English fine to lure you in. Once you've effectively signed a contract, they all like one will lose their command of the English language, so they don't have to resolve the issues. "No Enlgisch!" - they'll hang up on you once you're their client.
- My contract with UnityMedia was supposed to cost Me €75,- a month.
Guess what! In fact, UnityMedia shamelessly debit anywhere between €85,97 and €138,87.
- UnityMedia promises to start debiting subscription money from your account only AFTER your previous contract (incl. with a different provider) has been effectively terminated. I'm yet to receive My money back.
In fact, they will burden you with debits long before your old contract is over. In effect, you end up paying double as much as you otherwise might.
- They will disregard your refund request. They will ignore your emails. They will charge you unforeseen amounts of money - always more than agreed upon. Your phone calls for the most part will never be answered (especially once they know you are their extant client). One in ten-twenty attempts to get in touch with them will "work", but as soon as they hear you are an extant client - their enthusiasm to help you flies out of the window in no time.
Unitymedia You are the worst piece of …
Unitymedia You are the worst piece of **** company i have ever came across! After a month's wait for your sorry technician to come and install connectivity, he left us with no service, no signal, and telling us it would be another 2-3 days for someone to fix it! Are you freaking kidding me? How are you even in business, or how do you even have customers to begin with? I am glad you claim not to speak English when we call because ya'll would've got cussed out every day. If my service is not up and running today, i am cancelling ya'll sorry asses...and i wish a MF would try to bring that contract up because technically we're not even customers since your sorry company can't even provide that!😡😡😡💩💩💩🖕🖕
This company is ridiculous!
This company is ridiculous!
The whole building where I live (6 floors, 24 apartments) was left without internet and television for two weeks. We reported the issue within the first hour after the signal stopped (of course after spending ~1 hour on phone hold with their amazing customer support) we were told they'll get in touch with us. Then, after 3 days passed and no one came back, we contacted them again just to be told that we can have an appointment with the technicians in 2 weeks time. Of course, after that I was charged a full monthly tax. After sending them three emails asking for reimbursement I got no reply whatsoever and I am thinking of filing a lawsuit against them.
I wish I could rate them 0 stars
I wish I could rate them 0 stars. They are beyond pathetic. Webpages even time out it is that slow. Skype has issues sending messages as does Facebook. This is just an example of how slow it is.
All the 1 stars out there are 100% correct. This company needs to have a lawsuit against it. Class action lawsuit from its customers.
Illegal Practices
Unitymedia are the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of encountering. A man knocked on my door and told me that the internet contract for my building had been sold to Unitymedia, and that I therefore had to change providers (by law). I signed the contract, and was later told by my landlord that this was a complete lie. Furthermore, they offered me several goods and services which I do not have access to. They then (and are still) refuse to cancel my contract. Avoid this company at all costs.
As I have been a B&W Kable customer for …
As I have been a B&W Kable customer for almost 7 years, I was very satisfied with B&W Kable. BUT!!!!!! since Unitymedia took them over about a year ago, it has become a nightmare. Services and Help are worthless. Kunden (lack of)services will tell you anything to get you off the line( if you can get anyone on the line) after you have waited on the line for 20 to 45 minutes at which time it unceremoniously disconnect automatically. If you are so luck as to get a "service rep" they will promise you the world just to get you off the line, assuring you it will be addressed promptly.
TO PUT IT MILDLY UNITYMEDIA IS A NIGHTMARE WITHOUT END!!!!!
Get back or pay for the WLAN Box you already paid for!
The contract was in German. And, wait, after your contract is over you should return that back (they told during my chat session). I was a customer of 1&1 and they do not do the same. Now I should pay because I lost that box. Shame~
Bad Support, not getting even the half of the promised speed, the Studentenaktion is a fraud
TL,DR: If you are trying to decide, don't go with Unitymedia. All the bad reviews are there for a reason. Bad Service, Bad Speed, Bad Price.
I have been a customer for 2 Months, and I can honestly say the only positive experience I had was how fast you can reach their incompetent hotline, in which I had to explain to the support worker their own services only to hear back that I would get an email about it, which I of course didn't.
With Unitymedia you won't even get half the speed promised ( I get ~45Mbps instead of 120Mbps), you can't count on your Internet connection either , as the disconnections that often happen can last hours. Good luck if you need a technician sent to your house, you will have to wait at least a week for the guy to arrive "Sometime after midday" , so you better plan your life around it.
You can of course do nothing about it yourself, as the router you get, which legally they still own, is heavily locked and horribly coded. So forget about doing anything with your router that a common Joe can't.
You won't even get the Coupons that they promised you with your order. I, for example, was entitled to a 100€ BestChoice-Gutschein with the order, which they declined with a clear lie that said "You didn't order from the specific webpage" which I actually did exactly as said, as I proved via an email that received the exact same answer with the exact same wording. This is borderline fraud, and not a minor one with 100€ at stake.
I know this review won't fix any of my problems, as I'm bound to them for 2 more years they'll continue to act however they want. The least I can do is to help other people not make the same mistake.
One star is still too much! Ein Stern ist noch zu viel!
I have never witnessed a service worse than that offered by the Unitymedia BW GmbH.
Hopefully the employees get treated better by the company than their customers.
I am getting ignored constantly by the Unitymedia, terminating the contract seems to be impossible and emails don't get replied to.
