Can’t get through to customer service

Perhaps come a time when I am actually able to discuss with someone, my rating will change. For a week I have tried to list my timeshare for resale, and can’t get past the front page ‘Step 1’ as it says they are unable to find my listing. I have the owner deed contract in hand. I’ve owned for 13 years. If there is another contract number other than the one given at my purchase specific to Vatica, I don’t have one. It advises to call the customer service number provided and I have done so dozens of times and only get the same recording that they are ‘too busy taking other calls due to Hurricane Helene’ (which was over 6 months ago). I’ve left a ‘send a message’ text and did get an email asking for info, but the address is ‘no reply’ - and I’ve not had one. The Mexican number wasn’t working. My timeshare resort says sales are now via Vacatia, but I can’t get past the ‘step one’ with my deed membership/contract number, or speak with anyone or get a proper email response. And please update your voice message!

Thank you for the reply to my Trustpilot post. I have provided the exact information you advised several times. Several days before Vactica’s reply to my Trustpilot post, I finally did hear personally from customer service agent Greg, and replied again with the information requested. It has now been over a week and there hasn’t been any response.

Scottsdale Camelback Resort, a relaxing destination.

Scottsdale Camelback Resort is a relaxing getaway destination. The units are nicely furnished and the kitchen is well-stocked for any home cooking, or make use of the poolside restaurant and bar. The grounds are well maintained. The grills are cleaned every day. My favorite perk is the 1.1 mile walkway around the resort and through succulent gardens. Options for activities include the pool, the spa, tennis, pickleball, mini golf, a putting green,or bocce ball. Or just relax and borrow a book, dvd, or jigsaw puzzle from the lending library. The clientele is mostly age 50 and up, but there's a spattering from all age groups.

Holiday early morning wake up

I was woke up twice before 9.am and the staff could not speak English so could not explain to come back in a couple hours to do the cleaning. Now the first week on Wed I understood they wanted to get there work completed but we were staying in the unit we own for second week so on Sunday thought they would clean all other units first to allow new customers to get in early but no they came again before 9.am. I suggest you ask about cleaning times when we check in

Our unit was very nice and the whole facility was kept up beautifully. We really enjoyed the pool, hot tub and pool bar. It was so nice and relaxing and happy hour every day at the pool bar was a definite highlight. We will be going back for sure!!

Nothing is guaranteed - timeshare owners take a loss

Vacatia recently took over management of a timeshare I have been visiting for over 30 years in Ashland, New Hampshire named Cold Springs Resort.

I had no idea this even happened until I reached out to the front desk to put a couple of my weeks up for rental this coming summer. Communication around this MAJOR change has been poor.

I used to be able to just e-mail the front desk to request to put my weeks up for rental. Historically, if my weeks happened to get rented - I could apply the monies made to my account which would easily cover the yearly fee for the week. If for some reason the week didn’t get rented out, I would always have the option to use my week last minute rather than it go unused since the yearly fee is required regardless of use.

Well, this has all changed under Vacatia. Once you give up your week, you give it up and maybe you get a portion of the fees back, but nothing is guaranteed. They pool all the monies made for all weeks given up for rental in that particular month and split it between those who opted to put their time up for rental (whether every week is rented or not) oh and of course the resort takes a portion too. There is no way to take your week out of the rental pool once you opt to put it in - even if it hasn’t been rented yet.

This really seems like a big company coming in and taking advantage of the owners. I looked up the dates of one of the weeks I own to see what it would cost to rent for a non-owner. Vacatia is charging triple what my yearly maintenance fee is - why would that not cover my yearly maintenance fee?

Corporate greed that’s why. Why should I have to split anything with other owners that month if I have a prime week? It makes zero sense other than it lines the pockets of the business.

This is hugely disappointing for me considering my dedication and history of visiting this resort for over 30 years. I used to recommend this resort all of the time- that stops today.

The only positive thus far is that the general manager did call me after hours to discuss this change. While I appreciated that he took the time to call me, I did feel that he was talking down to me and trying to mansplain why these changes are all “so good” for the resort. Great, yes I can see how it’s all great for the resort - but it all really screws the owners - period.

I have 3 summer weeks up there that right now my maintenance fees each year are about $700/week give or take. To rent those weeks this summer it would cost a non-owner about $2100+ for the week. It makes no sense that I would not at least break even. What is my incentive to ever put my weeks up for rental ever again? I have a 4th of July week - I’d rather put it up for rental privately for $1000 and make $300 profit while still giving someone a killer deal.

This management change is sadly making me consider selling off all of my weeks because I do not like the way things have changed thus far.

It’s really sad that this is happening. The manager was definitely talking in circles and couldn’t even guarantee that management fees would go down because of the extra cash flow anticipated. “Nothing is guaranteed” was the take away from that call. To say I am sorely disappointed is an understatement. I thought I would be vacationing there with my family for the next 30 years but it may be time to sell and look elsewhere for a type of place that is more in line with the values this place had before big corporate took over management.

Thank you for your feedback. We understand that this change is a big adjustment, especially after so many years under the previous system. The new rental program was designed to create a more equitable process for all owners, ensuring that even if a week isn’t rented, you still receive some value. While we recognize it’s different from the past approach, we’ve received largely positive feedback from owners who appreciate the added fairness and predictability. That said, we acknowledge that communication around this transition could have been better, and we’re working to improve that. We truly appreciate your long history with Cold Springs Resort and would love to discuss any concerns further. Please feel free to reach out—we value your input and want to ensure you continue to enjoy your ownership.

Amazing resort!

As an owner who has been coming to the SCR for the past 12 years, the place has never looked better! So well maintained, friendly staff, keep up the great work!
