Booked for a quiet meal to celebrate my husband’s birthday on a Thursday night. When booking I had specified the table I wanted, as we have been going for years and always sat at the same table. When we arrived we were seated at a completely different table, not the end of the world. I have to say the food and service was very good but halfway through our main meal, in the background I could here what I thought was a radio in the kitchen with a football game on, slightly annoying. When it came to our desserts being served a group of around 4 or 5 employees sat at a table near us and were loud, swearing, the F word on many occasions and then another joined them who was watching a game of football on his phone???? We work very hard and like to enjoy a quiet meal, our evening was completely and utterly ruined by this. If we had wanted a “Weatherspoons” experience then that’s where we would have gone. We could not wait to leave. The waitress handled it quite well but the situation should not have arisen.

Unreliable Inn/restaurant- take bookings and cancel them at last minute.

I booked an end of season birthday celebration at the local Victorian Inn for Sunday night and had them cancel at the last minute.

I have used the Inn for many years under both he current and previous owners and have never been treated this poorly.

As a hospitality business owner on the Lizard we try so hard to give satisfaction to our up-county guests during the season in these difficult times. To be treated so by another fellow business locally is quite appalling.

I hope others take heed where they book if they have important dinners.
