The staff was wonderful !
The staff was wonderful -- professional, friendly, always helpful. They deserve an A+! Special kudos to Uno in the Grill! And being on a ship with just 180 passengers was such a welcome change from the large Caribbean ships. Meals were excellent with a sufficient number of choices, and I especially liked having the Grill available for breakfast and lunch. The rooms were a bit tight; an improvement would be to take out the second, smaller desk and replace it with a comfortable chair. Mickey did an excellent job as lakealorian; a nice addition would be to have local historians come aboard to talk about the area we would be seeing the next day the way Road Scholar does. All in all, it was a great trip and I hope to travel again on Victory!
Fantastic crew!
I can’t say enough about all your crew! It was a very enjoyable cruise because of them. My husband walks with a walker and not that good. Thanks to Wendy Stickler and Rodney Bailey I was able to get a wheelchair for my husband to use. Our room steward, Manuel, was fabulous. Sweet guy and helped a lot with my husband. Our dining room waitress, Maria, was fabulous. She reserved the first table coming into the dining room every night for us. She assisted him in getting in and out of wheelchair. Whenever he needed help your crew was there. You should be very proud of them all! Entertainment and food was very good. Only negative- shower stall a little small but ok. Sundeck little noisy to sit out. Would also recommend more free time on excursions. Two hours not long enough. Thanks for a wonderful trip.
Excellent
Excellent , friendly, and hard-working staff. Great music. A clean and
Comfortable room
World Class Cruising on Victory!
We have traveled on a number of river and luxury small ship cruises throughout Europe, and this was our first cruise with Victory. The service, cuisine, cultural enrichment, and itinerary offerings rival any that we have experienced on other cruise lines. The staff paid consummate attention to every detail! We have already booked our next Victory cruise for this October, and can't wait to share it with friends!
excellent tri[
excellent food and staff. Enjoyed the Frank Lloyd Wright outing. Would have appreciated knowing that we would not be going aboard the boat till 3:00 in advance so I could have planned something for Toronoto
I was happy with my cruise on Victory
I was happy with my cruise on Victory. The room was fine, good at buffet was very good, dinner was exceptionally good every night and the staff was helpful and had wonderful attitudes. Unfortunately the glass sliding door going into the Grill malfunctioned and closed on my arm giving me a serious bruise and some pain.
Dr on board kindly attended to my injury. It is the one thing that took away from my enjoyment.
Great trip
We enjoyed the size of the ship and the friendly staff. The itinerary was great. The shore excursions were very organized and interesting.
Food was subpar
Food was subpar. Times for meals is not good for retirees who are not early risers. Not enough entertainment. Three games of bingo was ridiculous.
The most ridiculous was having people fly in day ahead and not go on ship till 4 pm next day. Not providing even continental breakfast and lunch that day was something that should have been provided. If we had gotten on the ship this would have been provided. I found this tacky.
Awesome Crew -Everything else above average
Crew, from stewards to servers, cruise director, everyone was fantastic! Food was above average. Beverage selection was outstanding. Cabin was very small as well as the tiny bathroom. Bathroom needs a clothesline in the shower.
Beds were comfortable.
Half of the excursions were outstanding but some were just ok. Loved Mackinac Island, Henry Ford Museum, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Niagara Falls would have been more enjoyable without the long bus ride from the ship and little time at the Falls other than the Hornblower ride.
great time of year
great time of year, not too hot or too cold, excursions were on time and fun and interesting. We did not have enough time at Niagra Falls, we just in, got wet and out. No time for tourist things like shopping or pictures. The staff was excellent, really polite and accomodating with any request.
Being an active couple this cruise was…
Being an active couple this cruise was a bit challenging with lack of walking deck and minimal exercise room. Although the staff was very gracious, many were inexperienced and could not speak English. With an upgraded cabin they were quite small for a couple having to step aside to move around the cabin as well as a few sleepless nights due to neighbors TV volume on all night. Food was mediocre and the grab & go in the great room was in a small refrigerator with small sandwiches made up with mostly bread and very small amount of offerings inside. Besides the Niagara Falls and Mackinac Island, most of the ports had nothing to do and we were left wondering why we even stopped there. Shops closed on going construction and torn up streets. Confusion regarding time zones in a few ports where our cell phone showed one hour and the ship had another hour we had to quickly dress go to breakfast before they closed everything up. Our masseuse Amrita was fabulous Our servers Uno and Rahul stood out brilliant in our opinion as well as the shore excursion queen, Madelyn who worked very diligently to make things right. And the band on board was fabulous to dance too!!! With all said, the Victory Cruise line could have shined in our opinion with upgraded food and wine and possibly more time in ports that had more to offer.

Wonderful Staff who went above and beyond all the time. Enjoyed the mix of large and small cities.
Good trip
Good trip, but something needs to be improved at breakfast buffet. Scramble eggs, bacon and sausage were cold, which is a heath issue.
Overall critique
Check in was great and well organized. The staff friendly and helpful. Ship was clean. The food was fabulous! But it lacked in entertainment. The band was great but needed a variety instead of different music genre every evening.
Music, Tours, and Food
The music was great, but TOO LOUD!! I spoke to one of the musicians and he said he did not notice it. I could not stay without holding my hands to my ears. I think some other people felt the same about the music being too loud. Perhaps one of the musicians should go out in the audience area and hear the speakers from that direction instead of being behind the speakers which is probably quieter.
We went to the first tour meeting expecting to hear about the next day's tour, hi-lighting details of the tours that were happening that day, time to meet and where, etc.
In addition, we were expecting to see some pictures of the area, other places to go and experience, walking to some places, eating areas, other things to see and do besides going on our specific tour.
Instead, the meeting was a complete recap of ALL the tours for the whole cruise. After that first meeting, we opted out of attending anymore daily briefings especially when she said she would go through the rest of the tours the next day.
One thing that stood out to me was when we did the Milwaukee tour and returned to the ship, we noticed the Milwaukee Art Museum was close to the ship, so we decided to go there after our tour. This should have been a hi-light, with pictures shown, of another activity we could do on our own.
Overall, we enjoyed the tours that were presented to us. We liked being able to independently explore on our own with a timeframe to reconvene. We got tired of constantly having to listen to the tour operator in the bus. Too much information that goes in one ear and out the other. Also, too confining to be stuck in a bus for most or all of a tour.
The food was good, but never HOT. The only hot things were the plates. Also, food sits under the lights too long and gets cold.
The servers were great. The staff was great. It's a hard job to be "up" and happy all the time. I don't know how they do it. Also, the staff seemed a little more rested and able to do their job well, especially when dealing with guests, some of which I am sure can be challenging (I heard that one of the guests was upset because her ice cream was melted!). I felt that the work team was supportive of each other, helping out a team member, when needed.
Would definitely recommend.
The itinerary was great. The cruise was affordable, the cabins were comfortable and clean. The entertainment was excellent with music for all tastes.
The food was very good, well prepared and presented. Edward was an excellent server. You could tell he was experienced and worked hard to make sure everything was as we wished. He was polite and very professional and made us feel very comfortable.
Our cabin steward was Joh. She was excellent. Our cabin was always kept immaculate. We had a problem with the shower draining and when I brought it to her attention and she took care of it and followed through to make sure it was corrected.
I enjoyed all of the tours. I know that time is limited, and I feel that we were able to maximize the time we had in each area. The guides were amazing.
The cruise director, Mickey, was amazing. Her background and knowledge made all of her talks dr really interesting, entertaining and educational.
I enjoyed Captain Vlad and his all of his officers and crew were top box! They were accessible and friendly and visible throughout the cruise.
I was traveling with a large group of travel agents. My wife is the travel agent and we both travel quite a bit. This has been one of my favorite cruises. Thank you!

We enjoyed most the wonderful service…
We enjoyed most the wonderful service from staff that we received every day. They were always friendly, helpful and very quick to get us another cocktail!! We also enjoyed listening to the band led by Nicole & Shawn every night. It was nice that they could mix up different genres of music. Our fave was Carole King night.
The only criticism I would make is that they should vary the buffet breakfast menu at the Grill. It seemed like it was the same items every morning so we switched to the other restaurant. The dinners were fabulous and it was much appreciated that they would let us order two entries if we couldn't make a decision. And Nancy, our waitress, made sure the wine flowed. They were from different countries every night. The reds were the best.
Excursions were great!
The included excursions were fun. The optional excursions were SO interesting! The meals were quite upscale. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The app could use work so that it doesn't drop off our devices all the time.
