In any good story, there’s always a pub involved, isn’t there. And this is how Villager Jim got his name. But let’s go back a bit further. Jim didn’t used to take photographs. He was in a very different business, once upon a time, one that burned him out and wasn’t especially good for him. So he changed his scenery, moved to the Peak District in 2008, marvelled at the beauty of it and started taking pictures.

Saw an advertisement on Facebook
Saw an advertisement on Facebook, the light catcher was the spitting image of my working cocker, Bob. Ordered this, arrived yesterday, made my wife cry... absolutely lovely piece of work. Thank you so much
Feeling a little let down 🥲
I ordered the hydrangea sun catcher for my Mum for Mothers Day, speedy delivery & it is quite nice, however I really don’t think it’s worth the £20 plus postage, the photos on their site make them look much nicer & better quality & and with having to pay own postage to return & only accepting returns if faulty I do feel a little let down
Very pleased
Very pleased with the fast delivery and quality of the item, my mum will love it!
Warped and bent matts
I bought £106.87 worth of tablemats and coasters on the strength of seeing some Villager Jim matts in a pub in Tideswell Derbyshire. The matts that arrived were not the same, They were all slightly warped, thin, lightweight and a very inferior quality. I returned them. The refund I received was only £86.29. I am a little bemused as to how Villager Jim think they can charge me £20.58. I will be asking them how they think they are entitled to keep this amount.
Excellent quality and service
Just received my personalised terracotta flower pot. Arrived in excellent and was well packed. Etching done really well and of great quality!
Would thoroughly recommend! 👍
Avoid at all costs.
I had to choose one star to write the review. In fact I wouldn’t have given them any. Bought a dog snow globe decoration at Christmas 2024. Very misleading description - said made from acrylic, didn’t state it wasn’t a globe and would have expected it was for the price charged. A poor bit of plastic hanging on a ribbon arrived. I complained. They failed to respond. I complained again and they suggested the first response went to my spam. Which it did not. They stated they hadn’t received any complaints other than mine despite selling hundreds of them over Christmas. After my purchase I had read negative reviews on the website, too late for me which they now deny. If they’ve sold hundreds then they should be proud of how they have inaccurately lured people into purchasing. The e mail which eventually arrived at the end of January 2025 was matter of fact with an insincere “we are sorry you are unhappy with your purchase”. It speaks volumes that they have never responded to negative reviews on here. I would not purchase from them again and recommend they look into their advertising and get some professional training re customer service.
Memorial plant pot disappointment
I bought a memorial plant pot for my cats ashes and already the frost has cracked it and it is less than 12 months old. I got in touch with Villager Jim and the response I got was that they were made to 'high quality standards'. Well obviously they aren't and I think it's poor to sell pots which are obviously sold for this purpose which aren't up to it.
Nice products, slow dispatch at busy times
Items were in stock when the order was placed, but took longer to be dispatched than estimated (even allowing for the seasonal busy period). Christmas decorations/ cards then arrived too late to be given to the people we'd orderd them for. Products were lovely, customer service replied politely and promptly to an email checking on dispatch, but it was basically.. 'We're busy as it's Christmas. Thanks for understanding'.
Once dispatched items arrived quickly by Royal Mail.
Poor quality products
I bought 4 Christmas gifts but disappointed at the very poor quality so couldn’t give them. Sent 3 back at my expense + extra taken off by company. Poor returns policy. Wouldn’t recommend…..
Read reviews before buying anything 😢
Read reviews before buying anything. Hugely disappointed by poor quality and tiny image of personalised dog bauble. Returned item at my postage expense and charged a 10 percent return fee as company felt product with paintbrush marks in which looked like painted over bristle, chips and uneven surface ‘ added to uniqueness of the item’.Avoid at all costs.
Very poor service - avoid
Ordered a gift on 17th December 2024, it is now 2nd Jan 2025 and still no sign of the package. I emailed on 23rd Dec and was sent a very curt reply saying the cut off for Christmas orders was 15th Dec. No apologies, nothing and still not here so even if I had ordered 2 days before it would not have arrived in time for Christmas. A business can't get away with such poor customer service and failing to be apologetic in the current climate.
What a great gift
Got a lovely plaque with a Robin on it, website was easy to use, gift came quickly as described, couldn't be happier with it , would highly recommend
Poor customer service; long wait for items
I ordered from this company over a fortnight ago, buying items to mark the death of my daughter's beloved spaniel. Despite generic emails explaining it's a busy time of year, still no sign of my purchases. The phone number on their contact pages does not exist.
Expensive mistake/ Rip off
Horrified by what arrived, 17 days after ordering. I ordered supposedly 2x CERAMIC personalised dog baubles. What I got was 2 x extremely badly finished plaster of Paris baubles with a tiny motive.
These were meant to be a present! They're only good for the bin
Extremely slow and poor customer service
I ordered a border terrier bauble from this company and two and a half weeks on, it still hasn’t been dispatched and I’ve had no updates on my order other than a generic email about Christmas delivery times when I enquired about when I should expect my order to be dispatched. I understand Christmas is a busier period for all companies, big and small, but I’ve ordered from a range of companies this Christmas and not experienced such disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend and won’t be using again.
Avoid this site !!
Do not waste your money, Xmas bauble with tiny cocker spaniel picture arrived very late. The items are nothing like advertised…. AVOID THIS SITE !!
Rip off
Bought a 'ceramic' heart supposedly 'hand finished' in their studio. Turned out to be a cheap piece of mass produced Chinese plastic grossly overpriced. Eventually found the same item for 5 times less on another site. My fault for being in a rush but this company is a rip off big time. Arrived on Friday 13th!
Disappointing Experience
I was rather shocked when my order of a reasonably expensive chiffon scarf arrived stuffed inside a small grey mailing bag, it was like receiving a packet of screws from amazon. The lack of care with regards to packaging and delivery cheapened the gift. This retailer needs to understand more about customer expectations and how to fulfil them.
Tiny image on actual bauble
Ordered Fox Red Labrador personalised, got Terrier, personalised. Contacted company, they sent the correct one but the image of the dog is minute.
Very expensive for the size of the image. Wouldn't have ordered if I realised the size on the website is not the size you get.
They offered for me to return it but I can't afford the postage for that.
Bought the personalised dog bauble
Bought the personalised dog bauble, arrived quickly but disappointed with the very small size of the image of the dog and name.
So much space on the bauble and just a tiny image and wording. Images of dog breeds on baubles on website are much bigger.
