Broadband OK, Dongle useless and "Customer Service" a joke.

I have been a business customer of Virgin Media for several years and the broadband works fine - as I would expect and is the same for all providers I've had.

My business is highly reliant on the internet and so I pay more for the provision of a backup 4G Dongle for "seamless" connection. Which today, when I needed it, nothing happened. After a Google search I found that it is the correct colour... there's just no internet. Seamless this is not.

So I tried contacting their customer service. Calling was utterly useless with a myriad of automated menus so I then tried the website Bot... And I am still awaiting support "shortly" after 90 minutes and trying to make do with using my phone as a hotspot.

I'm going to cancel the Dongle today and seriously going to rethink whether moving network is the best option.

A skeleton of the past...

There was a time when it actually worked and was worth the money but alas, those were the days one can only cherish. It went from a reliable internet service to one that I couldn't compare to anything these days. My phone and 5G router provids far better and consistent services in 2025. Did reach out to the customer care who for a business broadband adviced to just reboot the router every 2 weeks as it was just fine. When I pointed it out that this was a business broadband, it was mentioned that I could do it after business hours. It was like talking to someone from the 1990s when one just turned on the internet when one wants to. Anyway had to terminate the connection for which surprise surprise there is a 90 days notice period. Best to stay away from if you don't have to as for the price one might as well go with Starlink.

PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE THE REVIEWS.
The cost of the service is high, the customer service is terrible, and their ability to follow their own guidance is woeful.
It has taken many hours to contact, telephone, email to close a contract even with new SME legislation in the UK. These guys need to pay the cost that they are unfairly imposing. If the complaints and Ofcom processes are failing, then the only recourse is legal. Perhaps it is time for a group action claim? for the time wasted. I'm already keeping a tally of costed hours.

I am extremely dissatisfied with this…

I am extremely dissatisfied with this experience. First, I was unable to install Virgin Media and was redirected to Virgin Business. Then, I received daily phone calls urging me to make a contract with Virgin Business, even though I was hesitant.

When I finally agreed, I completed the contract over the phone, including setting up the Direct Debit. I was informed that the broadband installation was scheduled for December 30th.

On Friday, December 13th, I received phone calls from the Virgin Business team saying they needed to conduct some checks. I explained that nobody was at the location, and they assured me this wasn’t an issue and that they could come back later. Some days later I was informed that the installation won’t happen at all.

Went with virgin media business 4…

Went with virgin media business 4 months ago.
Took them 3 and half months to port our number after numerous calls and emails to them they kept telling me they couldn't help me because i hadn't sent the porting documents. (Which i had 6 times).
They finally ported last week so i rang to set up call divert and was told that the number hadn't switched over yet. The number had switched over they just didn't no it had. So finally after 2 hours on the phone they set up call divert. Fast forward to today...call divert has been switched off there end. Call to set it back up and ask why they have turned off. They tell me it was never set up!!..again it was set up because the calls diverted to my mobile. Got told i have to wait 24 hours for set up ask to speak to someone else and the call divert is set up and working within 3 mins. Absolute shambles of a company. Customer service is shocking. they have no clue what they are doing. Suppose that's what you get when outsourcing customer service to the Philippines.
Stuck in a 24 month contact with these cowboys and the only way out is to pay! Do not waste your time energy or money with Virgin media business.

Catastrophic company and service.

Catastrophic company and service. Total mess in their appointment systems to start with - people are not arriving at the booked time, arriving without notice instead. Total mess in accounting. Need to print (!) DD form and scan it back. Impossible to contact - one person asks to email DD form to certain email address, but that email address askinf to contact them elsewhere and the link they give don't have any email addresses. Stay away if you have options!

Leaving Virgin Media Business is smooth…

Leaving Virgin Media Business is smooth like a cheese grater against sand paper....
Still at a loss why after I gave 30 days notice of disconnection of services on the 24th October, it will disconnect on 19th December. The customer service adviser could not give a reasonable explanation either.
The reason for leaving is we have had multiple service drop outs , sometimes 2-3 a week from 5 mins to 2 days, and when you are running a business and the your landline goes down, its not good.
No communication from Virgin regarding the disconnection other than one telephone call to see if I really wanted to leave, no updates on the various stages of leaving as mentioned on their website.

I gave notice to cancel one of the 2…

I gave notice to cancel one of the 2 broadband connections on 7th June 2024. Today is 28th November 2024 and I am still being charged for both services. The reason given is that Virgin are unable to find a way to cancel one service on the merged account. I have spent hours dealing with their customer service team and they have broken every promise they have made, and I never get any communication or help about this issue. I will never use them again and recommend that no one should - Relieve this dysfunctional business from its miseries

I was like you

I was like you, surely these bad reviews can’t be the norm? It must only be people who have had a bad experience leaving them here? No. It is truly an awful experience, start to finish. A communications company, that can’t effectively communicate - in fact I think they actively moved my installation date so many times to get me to cancel, as they had told me that one year was a short contract, essentially they didn’t want the hassle. So I waited 5 months, with a new installation date chosen at random occasionally emailed to me, to then have to cancel myself because it was just never going to happen.

If you are considering this, don’t do it. There are plenty of better companies with comparable speeds and far better customer service than this absolute dumpster fire - because of the separation of teams they can just blame each other back and forth while wasting your time - it’s not worth it. Seriously.

Called to cancel my service

Called to cancel my service. After navigating phone options for 5 minutes a very rude non UK sounding woman told me she could cancel services and i would have to fill out a form. I insisted that she take the cancellation and she continued to say no.

I asked to speak to a manager and she said 'she's not in today' and hung up on me.

Pathetic, pathetic service.

NO SOLID INTERNET FOR OVER 6 WEEKS!

We have had no regular internet for around seven weeks now and we are a business!! We have filled in three email complaints form on their site, we have also written three letters and made so many phone calls to them, with no response so far!!!
We have had intermittent Business Broadband (going on and off constantly) since the beginning of October 2024! We began calling Virgin Business to report the fault on 17/10/24, when the internet was going off for whole days!! Our call log states the following calls to them:
17/10/24 - 2 x calls
18/10/24 - 3 x calls
19/10/24 - 4 x calls
22/10/24 - 3 x calls
23/10/24 - 6 x calls
28/10/24 - 5 x calls
30/10/24 - 2 x calls
13/11/24 - 1 x call
16/11/24 - 1 x call
18/11/24 - 1 x call
We have had three different engineers sent out to us and each one says they cannot do anything as this is a power outage and that the telephone operatives are lying to us! We called again on Saturday morning 16/11/24, as we had no internet and another engineer has been booked to visit us but not until Thursday 21st!! We are a business who cannot work as our internet keeps going off and on and most of our service relies on the internet including our telephones, cctv cameras and media. We have asked to cancel our contract with them as they are not fulfilling the contract and supplying us the services that we are paying £60.00 a month for but we are told that we cannot cancel and we would be forfeiting our contract!!! We are told that the fault is still open, i.e. they are working on it, but we still get emails (when the internet IS on) saying the fault is closed, we think they are just covering their backs in regards to the contract by saying the fault is still open so in theory they are doing something about it?? So far still no response. DO NOT GO WITH VIRGIN MEDIA FOR YOUR BUSINESS BROADBAND OR YOU WILL BE BANKRUPT AND OUT OF BUSINESS WITHIN A MONTH OR TWO!!

Beyond unhelpful, rude. 4 times I have filled in a direct debit mandate & it’s still not actioned. Please if you read this go to another company. I’ve even tried to cancel my account & they just talk over the top of you it’s a joke.

Worst customer service I've experienced with massively delayed install times...

If you are looking for a fast an smooth installation go elsewhere. We were told installation would take around 4 weeks and I'm still trying relentlessly to get in contact with customer services to understand why it's now been pushed to over 3 months late. Being hung-up on over mobile support and technician was a no show on install dates. Worse customer experience I've ever had - go with Hyperoptic

The company that couldnt care less !

Our company replied to a marketing email to upgrade our internet service. I wish we had never done so as this was the start of days of headache, disturbances, disruptions, and wasted time.
In principle this was simple, increase the speed of our existing service.
Instead, we had phone call after phone call, the new router was sent to the wrong address despite the correct address being confirmed by Virgin. Time wasted waiting for delivery and second attempt at delivery (to the correct address).
Next, we had to do the installation for them and also be their eyes, ears, legs and hands when the system did not work initially.
After all was complete and working we received a phone call and an email to say they needed more time and that someone had to be in the office. Our office is a base and not fully manned so on the agreed date I waited in for their next call at our premises.
By chance, they called that afternoon to ask if everything was working - not to perform more works. At this time they stated that we had been misinformed.
We spent another 30 to 40 minutes with an agent who apparently raised a complaint.
Today, I received an email to say that feedback had been sent to the Virgin team and the complaint was closed.
No resolution, no courtesy call, no cohesion and not an ounce of understanding for the disruption caused.
Hang your head in shame Virgin Media Business. You have no understanding of businesses whatsoever - only your own. You are a disgrace.
