This writing website is amazing! I am amazed by this websites contents. although, it does have mature stuff, i make sure to stay away from it..

It is pretty good. The stories on there are good, and it is easy to write stories.

I joined Wattpad around April or May this year and I published my first story there. A few months after publishing my story, it was deleted with no explanation. I thought nothing of it and republished the same story, but I soon copied it into a Google Document and had saved it. The second time my story was deleted was around August. After that happened, I emailed Wattpad help and my story was brought back along with my reads and votes.

About a week ago, I logged into my account and refreshed my profile only to find that my stories were deleted, even the ones that were unpublished (which was 4 drafts I had saved). Personal information was posted onto my account, like random announcements, along with a picture of my face. I quickly emailed Wattpad for help but the soonest I recieved my response was a week later. Luckily, the announcements stopped and I was able to revert my profile back to what it used to be. The most I could do to re-secure my account was change my password, and I would rather have more of an explanation for what happened to me then just continue being anxious about having another breach in my account.

Wattpad recently emailed me back and told me that my problem would be fixed "by itself". I told them that I would like a bit more information about what happened to my stories and why my account was not secure. I would expect a bit more from such a big website. Sorry, Wattpad.

Due to some security breach they have a new policy where with every new device you sign in from, you have to verify your account through the email used to sign up. I no longer had access to that email therefore could not even change my password (or email to an active one) and they want you to answer 3 security questions (after emailing several bots back and forth) so they can verify you as the owner and give you back access. Despite giving so much detail about my draft books, however not being able to specifically name more than one, they denied me access. Security questions are ridiculous. How am I meant to remember some porno fanfic I wrote when I was 13? And what are they trying to protect? 12 year old's writing graphic content about some celebrity they fangirl over? Ridiculous one week ordeal that I had to go through, and even though I gave so many other options that could verify me as the original owner, I still get turned down. So stupid and pointless and really upsetting that I can't read the things I used to write when I was younger. I'm sure the material was horrible but it would be nice

I am a writer and I love writing on Wattpad. It is free so that makes it even better. While I do admit that most of the stories on the site are subpar, that is what you get when you make it free for everyone and anyone can post anything. I like how even in the free version you get to see how many reads each chapter gets and even what countries your readers are from. I live in the US and people in Africa, the Philippines, and even Sweden have read my books! I just think that is really cool. It also shows you the age of your readers if they have it on their profile. I also like how it tells you if a book is mature or not before you read it however this is based on whether the author thinks it is mature or not. I have never been bogged down by messages but the notifications can get a little old after a while especially if someone goes crazy and revises their whole novel. Then you get a notification for each chapter that they republish. However, overall I love this site and it's my go-to if I want people to read my work. I am giving it a four because a lot of the books are pretty bad.

Wattpad is OK if you just want to write like me, but stories are terrible and most of the good ones you have to pay to read. A peaceful writing experience and not too complicated but bugs you to subscribe to premium.

Wattpad was great back in the day, when One Direction fanfiction was top of its prime in 2012 to 2014. Now, I struggle finding something good anymore. I miss the old days when I could find something good to read, or was it the age I was at that made me read all those?

Now, I'm a critical reader about the plot, characters, and everything else about it. Wattpad has a lot of boring and over used stories.

I mostly like this, but there are terrible stories there. Bad grammar. Chapters are about a paragraph long. I personally think that I write good stories, but almost no one has read them because the terrible stories are getting all the attention.

Wattpad is a good place to post your work that you can share with people easily.but their ratings system is flawed and there is little support when issues arise. I used to be number 10 on the autobiography list, and without warning I jumped to 680. I asked them to check it and they said there's nothing they can do. Makes no sense to me, and now my book isn't being read. Their system is flawed, that's for sure. But it's free, so we cant complain that much.

Things were going good for a few years. Had written on this platform before and it was wonderful for original content. Until two of my books were deleted. No explanations as to why, and they didn’t break community guidelines as I made sure they stayed within the bounds. Help team did nothing but give me the same message every time I requested help. Always back up your work if you ever use.

Just worse than terrible, avoid

Unfortunately the support process is too long. You have to wait longer than 1 week for each problem. Their communication is really weak.

I thoroughly enjoy wattpad! The books there are great, the people there are almost always friendly and the format itself is quite good. If I had to make one complaint, it would be that the notifications can be quite annoying because they say that you sometimes have notifications when it is actually just a previous notification I have seen. I also think that wattpad would be very good for twelve year olds, so maybe you should think about lowering the age limit? I also got a message from W E B N O V E L, and I tried to ask what to do on the wattpad guide page but I haven't been answered.

Recently there has been lots of hateful comments, death threats, negative messages going around in the app. Many authors are now taking down their book due to the comments affecting their mental health.
If Wattpad truly stands against bullying, emotional harassment, hate, death threats, then it should come up with features that allow authors to disable their comments or filter their comments section. Until this problem has been solved, Wattpad gets a negative review. Some of us readers are no longer able to have an enjoyable experience due to this. Mental Health is a real life issue and at the moment Wattpad is not providing full support for their authors.

Wattpad is easily one of my favorite websites, and I really enjoy writing stories to post there. You can even design your own cover using Canva. My only real problem is that it takes a very long to build an audience. That is because it has SO much rubbish cluttering the website... romance! At least 3/4 of the stories there are cheesy romances with awful grammar... and they seem to be the most popular, somehow, drawing all the attention away from original works! However, there is literally a story on anything your brain can possibly imagine, which makes it enjoyable to explore. Wattpad is a great website for beginner writers... if you don't really care about being popular, that is.

I wrote a story on this site (about 100hrs + work) and it was deleted without explanation. Waste of time and effort. Horrible app that will crush your aspirations.

Honestly, I do not know what Wattpad is on anymore. It goes down, either DMs, notifications, books or the servers entirely, every five seconds and it has been doing this for years. How it has not been fixed by a competent computer science team I do not know because no other app has this issue so often. This site must have spaghetti code on the level of Yandere Dev at this point due to how dysfunctional it runs. Sometimes I refresh the page and suddenly the page is in Arabic instead of English - how does this even happen? And there's an abundance of books that is against the TOS, which clearly shows a lack of moderation. Furthermore, Wattpad is constantly updating its site and app in a way that users hate to make it look more `stylish` without actually fixing the problem. 0/10

Wattpad is a great app to express your creativity and bring your ideas and stories to life and share it with other people. I would really say it's good for small children due to mature topics a lot of writers include. They would normally warn you if there's something that isn't suitable for young audiences. However if they don't , that's not okay.

They had a data breach recently. The breach itself was known publicly a week before they posted a notice on their website. It took a further couple days before they even started notifying their users of the data breach. I'm not entirely sure its legal to be sitting on this information for so long before beginning to think about telling their users. I lost access to two accounts with payment and bank information on them around the time this happened. I'm certain it wasn't a coincidence. I frankly don't feel safe having an account with them anymore and so I have decided to delete it. If you're considering opening an account with them, proceed with caution.

I have been using wattpad since 2016. At first, if you wanted to read books by your friends and writers around the world, it was the platform to use, now it is focused on how much you are able to spend. I've been a fan of the app for a very long time, but lately, thanks to the latest update, I removed it. One of the main reasons I enjoyed the old edition was the endless free stories you could read offline, but now that option is not available. I lived in an area where the internet wasn't the best so I would download a bunch of novels to read. I can't do that anymore because the offline limit is now 2 novels and you have to pay for it if you want limitless offline books. There are certain questions that I would like wattpad to answer; why would anyone pay just to read offline? What happened to the free wattpad that everyone came to know and love? I understand that they may need the money and all, but is it appropriate to place a price on offline reading?

All in all, it has been a nice run wattpad. Until we meet again, farewell.
