Don't buy from here.

This is a dealership ruined, once it was the flag ship of UK dealerships, but not any longer.
Customer service is poor, trade in values are hysterically low. And brand or customer loyalty is non existent.
Harley are good bikes and some of the newer ones are so much fun, but just don't purchase from here.

Pleasurable From My First Visit

From my first visit, to riding away on my chosen bike, the team at West Coast Harley Davidson couldn’t have been better. Scott Hendry is a great salesman, that is full of knowledge and experience. He isn’t a marque snob like you get at some dealerships. Great to talk with and happy to point out the Pros and cons of each bike, and answer any questions I had. Becky Nisbet is the hardest working person on the sales floor. She sorted out all the paperwork for the new bike and explained the financial process and all the rest of the administration that goes with buying a new bike from a dealership. Between Scott and Becky and a whole host of other staff behind the scenes, it made the whole experience truly pleasurable. I’m very happy with my purchase, I’m very happy with the team at WCHD. Would I buy from them again, absolutely! Would I recommend them? Totally! Keep up the great work. Thanks to you all.

Shocking customer service

Phoned several times to request urgent parts for my XL iron, left my number 3 times for a callback, no callback and cutoff umpteen times.
Went elsewhere in the end and ordered my parts online for next-day delivery, no way to run a business, shocking customer service!!

We visited over the weekend as we are…

We visited over the weekend as we are part of another chapter and wanted to see the dealership. I’ve never had a more friendly greeting from another dealership. Hal upstairs was just amazing, and so welcoming, She made our ten year olds visit by giving him a HD lanyard and he got a new poker chip which he loved. We also met Caitlyn who was lovely and friendly too. The guys downstairs were great and helped us out taking photos with our chapter flag. The cafe is amazing and the girls were helpful and friendly. This is an amazing place we couldn’t believe how large it is, and you can tell everyone is happy to be there. We will definitely be back & thank you so much for making us feel so welcome

I cant speak highly enough of them.

I cant speak highly enough of them.

I have traded two trikes in and bought two over the last couple of years.

Everyone is very friendly and helpful from the sales team to the parts department, service desk. Their mechanics/ fitters will explan things and very helpful if you ask a question. Nothing is to much bother for them. They go the extra mile to help you.

Lovely cafe and clothing department upstairs finance department is very helpful and friendly as well.
If your looking to buy a Harley that would be the dealer I would go to. 100%

The salesperson Bruce is rude and very abrupt in his personal interaction with potential customers as I found out whilst enquiring about a bike they had for sale .
It was like being talked at by a school headteacher .
Well guess what West Coast you lost a sale and a customer

Super quick delivery of hard to find part.

They managed to have a part in stock that other dealers have been waiting months for. I ordered at 2pm on a Friday afternoon, and received the part on Saturday morning! Great service. Bike is up and running again.

Terrible

I’m now in my 2nd disaster bike from WCHD in the space of 10 months.
As much as I understand that any vehicle can have faults from new it says a lot about a dealer how they handle the situation and make things right.
In this case they have failed on every level of after sales and I still have a bike off the road and not fit for purpose.

My first bike a new 1200 iron was riddled with electrical problems and a false neutral from new. WCHD had the bike in the workshop for more than I did over 7 months and at approximately 1000 miles I had to give a final right to refuse the bike.
This resulted in me losing money on it but having credit to put towards purchasing my FXBB and what I hoped would be a fresh start

At my 1000 mile service for the FXBB when I left the shop the bike was rattling, clanking and making all sorts of strange noises and oils weeping from parts of the engine.
I checking the oil level on the side stand and upright but it didn’t show a drop of oil on the dipstick.

So either the mechanic working on my bike didn’t fill the oil OR something went drastically wrong between them checking the oil level and handing the keys back.
That’s extremely unlikely and seems from all that’s happened the mechanic simply forgot to fill the bike.

They checked the oil level after adding oil and it showed on the dipstick but the bike still wasn’t running right.

After multiple trips back and forward WCHD finally opened the engine for investigation.

Meanwhile I was told no internal damage could have happened and no unnecessary wear would have occurred BUT in the mechanics video building my bike back up he shows parts that are worn and says “ notice on this rotor there’s a bit of scoring as you can see. Looks like it’s been dry for a wee bit “

So the mechanic admitted that the bike had in fact been running dry!

I have videos from them showing the worn parts due to lack of oil and I have the old cam shaft here that shows wear on it that shouldn’t be there.

This has been confirmed by other mechanics.

Unfortunately all the problems still persist with the noises and oil weeping but WCHD told me they couldn’t find anything wrong and I should perhaps have another dealer look and listen to it..........

Without even opening the engine the other dealer can hear issues and see the oil coming out of my engine so it’s not right I was sent away from WCHD with problems again.

It’s worth mentioning that I had NO issues before the 1000 mile service with the engine of this bike.

Unfortunately I’m no further forward with this and has been going on for months.

Hopefully WCHD will do the right thing by swapping the bike or at the very least the engine for new.

On the very first day of collecting the FXBB I noticed the parts dept had ordered the wrong air filter cover but they just shrugged it off and tried to accuse me of giving them the wrong part number.
I checked the part number I gave them in email and it’s not what’s been installed.

He also forgot to have my tuner installed and when I discovered this I again had to have another trip back to get it installed.

I had Kellerman rear lights fitted from purchase so on the day I first collected it the engine management light came on while on the way home and I discovered I had no working brake lights!

The lights have also not been installed correctly to the rear of the bike and when I brought it to the attention of the parts dept they ordered the correct parts to fit them however when I went in to find out if they had arrived I discovered that they had BUT they used them to fit the managers light on his bike and can’t give me a ETA when mine will be rectified because they can’t source more stock.

That’s terrible customer service especially as they were aware I was waiting on the parts and had mine installed before the managers.

Lastly from day of purchase I discovered a lot of rust spraying over the rear of my bike including the frame, disk, wheel, fender etc etc
This happened any time the bike got slightly wet and I’ve been told it’s normal and been given multiple excuses when I’ve asked them multiple times about it.

The managing director of WCHD informed me he sprayed WD40 in the frame to rectify it.

This is absolutely not acceptable as it’s spraying onto my disk it has every chance of putting me at danger.

WCHD never did rectify the problem but during a trip to another dealer to pick up a part they noticed the rust told me that’s not normal so put in a technical report, gave me a courtesy bike and had it rectified within the week.

It’s important for people to know that the sales floor staff, be it bike sales, clothing or cafe workers have all been great any time I’ve been in.

Management level and above + the parts department and servicing unfortunately have been nothing but a disappointment.

Buying a Harley should be a great experience.

Hopefully WCHD will do the right thing and I’ll edit this in the future.

Excellent!

Ordered a leather collar for my dog, but had some trouble with the basket online. Called up and was answered immediately by a lovely lady who was very helpful and efficient. Collar arrived next day and only cost about £3.00! Was very well packaged, included a hand-written note and fitted excellently. Very very happy!
